Two weeks ago we teamed up with Chris Birkinbine from A Dash of Science Podcast! Chris serves his community by participating in STEM programs with the local schools, and the Chief Science Officer for the Organization of Space Flight Professionals. When he isn't podcasting or volunteering, he works as a Range Systems Engineer for NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. We have been fortunate to be able to have a knowledgable guest help us run through our research before recording day. TTO is collectively scientifically illiterate, but we are dedicated to stating our biases, and getting our facts right. So we brought a smart guy to give us dumb guy explanations. Chris, it was a pleasure to have you on our show. We look forward to working with you again! Please note that we regularly explore unsavory corners of the internet, and don't condone everything we discuss. Caleb grew the pony tail. Scott took his homework so seriously he turned into a UFO truther. Shea moved to Portland. Kasey paid money for the DVD box set of Ancient Aliens. We've all made sacrifices to pull this one off. This episode is the first of a two-part series on the spectacle of the UFOs, Ufologists, the truthers on Yahoo Answers, and an otherwise carefully curated selection of interesting sightings and reports. We sourced our friend, NASA scientist Chris Birkinbine, host of A Dash of Science podcast, to be our subject matter expert and fine tune our research. To hear his take on our research on UFOs listen to our bonus episode attached to this drop! In this episode, we discuss six UFO encounters in depth. They are:1. The Rosewell UFO Crash/Incident2. Japanese Airlines Flight 16283. The Ariel School Sighting in Zimbabwe 4. The USS Nimitz "tic tac" sighting5. Charlie Red Star6. The Minot Air Force Base incident, and associated sightings. Chris Birkinbine from A Dash of Science continues to make his mark on the gorup by formalizing the GBI's commitment to science. He also shares a cautionary tale. Plus, so. Very. Much. More.
