Clarity, focus, and wisdom are the foundation for building a life with purpose, momentum, and less stress, and in this powerful podcast episode we break down the simple principle that changes everything: when you focus on what you want, you stop being controlled by what you don't. If you're looking for practical life lessons, personal growth strategies, and real-world wisdom for better decisions, this episode will hit home.Ever feel like life is one long game of Whack-A-Mole?Solve one problem. Two more pop up.You stay busy… but nothing really moves forward. Here's the shift most people miss:You weren't meant to live in reaction mode. You were built to prepare, build, and move with clarity.I learned this as a kid, standing in the doorway of my childhood home on Sixth Street in Lompoc, California. My mama was in the kitchen next to an old-school juicer, the kind that had history. Outside, sheer curtains blurred the courtyard where a lemon tree grew — the same tree she'd grab from to make fresh lemonade whenever I asked. She looked at me and said something simple that stuck for life:“If you focus on what you want, you won't have to worry about what you don't.”And here's the truth:The people who win at life aren't just reacting. They're preparing. While everyone else is running around putting out fires…They're investing in the foundation. When you invest in wisdom and clarity:• Decisions get easier• Distractions lose power• Progress speeds upThere will always be noise. There will always be shortcuts. There will always be shiny things pulling at your attention. But focus guards your purpose. And when your mind is full of wisdom, the fork in the road stops being confusing. The right move gets clearer. The wrong ones get louder (in a good way). You still choose. But clarity makes the choice easier. So maybe today's the day you stop chasing every fire…And start building something that actually lasts.Because when you focus on what you want, the rest stops running your life.COME AND JOIN US AT THE VIBE ROOMMARCH 11 IN CARLSBAD
This week, we discuss the weaker US dollar, as well as the FOMC meeting and payrolls data ahead. Also in focus is the announcement of an historic India-EU trade deal following an incredible 20 years of negotiation. We also look at monetary and fiscal matters in India, with the upcoming budget and central bank policy meeting. In Europe, we look out for the Bank of England and European Central Bank meetings, with a stronger EUR making things a little more interesting. And finally, we preview the Reserve Bank of Australia meeting, following stronger than forecast core inflation data this week.
If we solve enough problems eventually we'll run out, right?

Whack-A-Mole was a popular arcade game back when arcades were a thing. But the metaphor persists. We all have the experience of dealing with problems that just seem to keep coming back. Pride is that way. In Luke 17:1–10 Jesus addresses his disciples with a warning concerning the Pharisees' great problem of pride. Striving to enter the narrow gate requires humility. So does living together in the kingdom under Jesus' rule.
Co-Host Frank Kermit (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/franktalks) He's Frank because he has to be. After years and years, I finally have my long-time friend Frank Kermit back on the show. He has always been about straight talk when it comes to women, men, sex, dating and relationships...which is probably why he and I made friends immediately and that friendship has endured. In this long-overdue episode, we talk about the strange rise in bitter, hurt, resentful people--both men and women--and how so many of us got this way. Resentment is the quiet poison that eats men alive. It wrecks your masculine presence, makes you unattractive to women, and slowly destroys your edge in life. Naturally, we kick off the conversation with a searing discourse on self-imposed limiting beliefs, and how the media actually reinforces them. And then, what's with all those long checklists women schlep with them on dates? And on the other hand, why is it that the less success with women a guy has had, the "pickier" he might become? And what's up really going on when we play "Whack-A-Mole" with one excuse after another for not succeeding with women, to the point where we just get angry rather than actually doing something about it? Why is it so true that 'hurt people hurt people'? And what if 'Mr. Nice Guy' really has something pent up under the surface? As it turns out, getting over any resentment that's built up within us--especially toward our family and women--has to come from a place of genuine desire, not to mention raw, masculine courage. Does that mean actually confronting those who have hurt you? That's for you to decide. If you've been into men's dating and relationship stuff for years, you might wonder why you haven't heard from Frank in a few years. Well, as it turns on he was on one hell of a personal journey...losing 260 pounds (!) You'll get the lowdown on that as well. It often feels easiest to do what's right in front of us. And that's lovely, a lot of the time, and uses our strengths!And... it starts to feel bad if we're in whack-a-mole mode almost all of the time, and don't have spacious time to comprehend the whole of our experience. This ties into our sensory needs and leans more into the psychological side of these needs.Mentioned in episode:Free Workshops registration linkLink about the Sep-Oct live round of Love Your Brain coming soonResources:Transcript DocMattia's NewsletterLike Your Brain community space (Patreon/Discord) Hosted on Acast. How do you balance fraud protection with customer experience when every security measure potentially adds friction to your users' journey?Join hosts Chuck Moxley and Nick Paladino as they talk with Tutu Adenle, a fraud prevention and customer experience expert who has navigated complex challenges at companies like Twitter, American Express, and Eventbrite. Tutu shares eye-opening insights about the sophisticated ways bad actors exploit marketplaces, from testing stolen credit cards to account takeovers, and explains why customers are now grateful for fraud alerts rather than annoyed by them.Tutu also reveals how she tackled content moderation on a global scale at Twitter, where moderating human behavior required understanding cultural nuances across different countries and regions. She discusses the delicate balance of implementing fraud detection tools that protect customers while maintaining a smooth user experience, and explains why building frictionless experiences requires understanding human behavior and constantly monitoring customer service data to know when you've gone too far.Main Takeaways from this episode:Embrace protective friction — Well-placed fraud prevention measures actually build customer loyalty when customers understand they're being protected, as evidenced by positive reactions to banking fraud alerts.Map friction strategically — Place fraud detection at critical points in the customer journey rather than throughout the entire experience, understanding where security is essential versus where it impedes legitimate users.Monitor customer service data religiously — Contact center volume and categories are your best early warning system for when friction has crossed from protective to frustrating, since customers will always tell you when something isn't working.Want more tips and strategies to create frictionless user experiences? Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia benefited from US President Donald Trump's first administration, as Chinese companies re-routed shipments to these regions to avoid US tariffs. In his current term, President Trump's reciprocal tariffs aim to eliminate this arbitrage, but the significant tariff rate differentials between countries are creating an even greater incentive for Chinese companies to use transshipments. US efforts to enforce tariffs have become a game of whack-a-mole, according to Ebehi Iyoha, a trade economist and an assistant professor at Harvard Business School. Iyoha also highlights how small US businesses are disproportionately affected by tariffs compared with large corporations. She joins John Lee and Katia Dmitrieva on the Asia Centric podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today, I share a new term that I coined: MEDICAL WHACK-A-MOLE.In this LATEST PODCAST episode, we dive into the concept of "Medical Whack-a-Mole," a term I coined to describe the all-too-frequent scenario in healthcare where physicians treat individual problems by passing patients from one specialist to another. This process often leads to patients being prescribed a staggering number of medications—sometimes even as many as 28, as seen in a recent case involving a patient managing five chronic conditions under six different doctors.Join me as I unpack this concerning phenomenon and share personal insights from my experience. We'll explore the implications of overmedication and how it detrimentally impacts patient health and wellness, undermining the very goal of making America healthy again. Together, we'll discuss empowering patients to become better consumers of their healthcare, raising their health IQ, and advocating for themselves. Discover why it's essential to disrupt the whack-a-mole cycle of treatment and take control of chronic disease management, because the stakes couldn't be higher. We'll cover why functional medicine still falls into the “pill for every ill” trap, how to tell if you actually need a supplement, and why real healing starts with your gut, liver, and overall health—not just another bottle of vitamins. ***

In hopes of compelling federal employees to quit, and thereby shrink the government workforce. Heaton makes the case that if your goal is to shrink government, this is a counter productive way to do it.

Serena and Matt revisit a Michigan win that was two-thirds very good and one-third very bad, debate the progress (or lack thereof) from Alex Orji and the offense, give thanks for Kalel Mullings, unpack what happened to the defense late, do some hypocritical bitching about the officiating, marvel at the beauty of Georgia-Alabama, and preview a Washington team that's quite different from last year's and kinda hard to size up given the gap between the advanced stats (good) and the results (mid).

In this episode Hawk, fresh from his COVID-19 adventure, stumbles through the maze of Donald Trump's immunity claims. Picture this: Trump, the former Commander-in-Chief and convicted felon, is essentially arguing for a "Get Out of Jail Free" card that would make even Monopoly players jealous. The Supreme Court, meanwhile, is busy trying to decide if being President is like having a lifetime supply of legal teflon.Hawk takes us on a whirlwind tour of the oral arguments, where justices pondered such pressing questions such as whether a president could order a military coup (you know, just your average Tuesday in the Oval Office). He predicts that while the Court won't give Trump total immunity, they might invent a new game show called "Is It Official or Personal?" for future presidents to play. As for Trump's other cases, it's like a legal version of Whack-A-Mole - knock one down, and another pops up.Finally, Hawk dives into Jack Smith's indictment, which reads like a political thriller with a cast of characters that would make a soap opera blush. Six unnamed co-conspirators? It's like Clue, but with fewer candlesticks and more subpoenas. Hawk wraps up by hoping for a pre-election trial, because nothing says "democracy" like deciding the fate of a presidential candidate between campaign rallies.Oh, and don't forget to buy some Pride merch at hawkmerchstore.com to support the Kaleidoscope Youth Foundation in Columbus, Ohio (kycohio.org) - all profit from the Pride Collection goes to this amazing non-profit for the month of June.Links to Judge Chutkan immunity decision and Jack Smith's J6 IndictmentJudge Chutkan immunity decision attached to this post - sourced from this article:https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.258149/gov.uscourts.dcd.258149.171.0.pdfJack Smith's January 6th Indictment (also attached):https://www.justice.gov/storage/US_v_Trump_23_cr_257.pdf SUPPORT & CONNECT WITH HAWK- Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mdg650hawk- Support Hawk's Merch Store: https://hawkmerchstore.com- Connect on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mdg650hawk7thacct- Connect on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@hawkpodcasts ALL HAWK PODCASTS INFO- Additional Podcasts Available Here: https://www.hawkpodcasts.com- Listen to Hawk Droppings On Your Favorite Platform:Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3RWeJfyApple Podcasts: https://apple.co/422GDuLYouTube: https://youtube.com/@hawkpodcastsiHeartRadio: https://ihr.fm/47vVBdPPandora: https://bit.ly/48COaTBSimplecast: https://hawk-droppings.simplecast.com- Hawk Droppings RSS Feed: https://feeds.simplecast.com/pPVtxSNJ
In this episode I interview Erin Lockwood who travels all over the world with her family to create their YouTube channel called Always Be Changing. Erin is an ESFJ Ox, type 2 on the Enneagram. She is parenting three children and two of them are her opposites. Her son Colt is an ENTP Eagle, who tested as gifted, but doesn't respond well to discipline and a typical school environment. Her daughter Brooklyn is an ISTP, the same type as my daughter, but a type 5 on the Enneagram, which will be the next episode now that we have wrapped up the heart center with types 2,3 and 4. Since Erin is a type 2 parenting a type 5, I thought it would be a great segway. I met Erin because her pediatrician recommended, she come see me before she pursued other psychological testing for her son Colt. I want to be the first and hopefully the last place families can get answers when they are wondering if their child's behavior is normal. I talk with Erin about 1. Her decision to pull her kids out of school and travel the world 2. The secret cure for her son's emotional impulsiveness and oppositional defiance 3. Why it isn't okay for her to hug her type 5 daughter 4. And how she has learned to set boundaries and separate facts from her very strong feelings.
