The Germany based duo HackedePicciotto with Alexander and Danielle join Music Matters host Darrell Craig Harris to talk about their latest album and a new path moving forward!  About the Duo Hackedepicciotto is an experimental duo consisting of longtime partners Alexander Hacke (of Einstürzende Neubauten) and Danielle de Picciotto, an American-born musician, artist, author, and filmmaker. Their work together consists primarily of stirring soundscapes blending acoustic instruments such as violin, hurdy-gurdy, and autoharp with rumbling bass guitar and electronic feedback. Both artists sing and chant -- de Picciotto recites colorful, poetic lyrics, and Hacke occasionally throat sings. While the pair describe their music as "cinematic drone," they incorporated postindustrial rhythms into their 2020 full-length The Current and the more expansive, symphonic 2021 release The Silver Threshold. SHOW NOTES   In Podcast Episode 379, “Refusing to Humble Oneself,” Kim discusses the last king of Judah and some lessons listeners can learn from his bad choices. This is the first in a mini-series on the Fall of Jerusalem and the insights we can glean from what led to its consequences. Sadly, Zedekiah seemed like a fitting king to be on the throne as the last bits of the once God-fearing nation are taken into captivity for the evil lives they chose to live and the carnage they left in their wake.   Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Chronicles 36:11-16 and Jeremiah 37:1-10, with 2 Chronicles 36:12-13 and Jeremiah 37:2 and 37:17 as the focal verses:   12 But Zedekiah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and he refused to humble himself when the prophet Jeremiah spoke to him directly from the Lord. 13 He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, even though he had taken an oath of loyalty in God's name. Born in Frankfurt to a prominent religious family, Jacob Schiff (1847-1920) was raised in the milieu of Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch's Frankfurt, before migrating to the United States in 1865. Rising rapidly in the investment banking world of Wall Street during the post Civil War economic boom, Schiff emerged as both an exemplary philanthropist, distributing his vast wealth to myriad Jewish causes in America and worldwide, as well as cementing himself as the undisputed leader of American Jewry. Particularly close to his heart was the plight of Russian Jewry under the brutal Czarist regime, and he lobbied for unrestricted immigration to the United States, assisting Jewish immigrants once they arrived. He also financed Japan in the Russo-Japanese War, which led to Japan defeating the Russian Navy. She explores the Seventh House as a place where self-abandonment can happen so easily because our desire for connection, safety, and intimacy can become tangled with fear, projection, old agreements, and the need to be loved or validated. Topics She Covers: The Emergence Astrology Pathway Year One as a slow, deep curriculum for identifying when you are not in yourself and learning to anchor back into your own knowing. Gnosis as your own knowing: the thing no one can take away from you. The Seventh House as one-on-one relationships, including romantic relationships, friendships, partnerships, and the ways we find out who we are through others. Projection, intimacy, trust, boundaries, and the difference between intuition and projection in relationship. Energetic contracts and agreements, including the old relational patterns we may have agreed to when we were younger and the fear that arises when we want to update them.
