Today’s episode really is that silver bullet in dating that you are looking for. Yes, it is that important, so please listen to the whole thing. I know this one is a bit longer than others, but it’s so worth it! Self-care is a buzz word thrown around a lot in personal development. But I find either little explanation as to what it is, or what you’re supposed to do, OR, it’s explained in way that leaves little room to make it your own. IF there were a silver bullet in dating, it would definitely be this. So as you listen into my conversation with 100% Guilt-Free Self-Care Coach, Tami Hackbarth, here’s what you’ll learn: - Ideas to create your own self-care routine - Why putting yourself first is NOT selfish - If self care can ever be selfish - The closest thing to a silver bullet to getting into a healthy relationship - The insane benefits of meditation - What you’re actually supposed to be doing during meditation About Tami: Tami is a self-care coach who teaches 100% guilt-free self-care to busy women. She encourages women to drop the story that self-care is selfish and start feeling powerful in their own lives. Your next steps: -The Date Yourself Challenge opens soon! I’m flying solo this episode for the first time in quite a while, but it seems to be a perfect thing to do coming off the Date Yourself Challenge. Y’all, the Date Yourself Challenge BLEW me away. When I ran the challenge back in February, 175 women went through the challenge. This past round, over 600 women did the challenge. The energy was incredible, and I can’t tell you how many women joined with ‘little expectation’ of how it’ll help and were then blown away by the results they got. Women reported feeling more confident, happier, and more like themselves in years. Anyways, this Ask V is the first episode of its kind. I find that I get asked the same questions again + again. Instead either a) answering it over + over and/or b) not giving a thorough answer {the comments in the Facebook group can only do so much!}, I thought I'd occasionally do an Ask V episode to answer common questions. The question is, I get asked all the time about my skincare regimen. And this just happens to be a topic I could go on + on about.  So in this first Ask V episode, I'll answer that question {it's probably not what you think!}, AND while I'm at it, I'll share with you my 3 other top self-care habits. I did something a little different today. When I tell women about the power of dating yourself + about the challenge, I find I get 1 of 2 responses: A: That sounds awesome! I love that, I don’t give myself enough ‘me’ time, and that’s something I want to work on. B: You mean like buying myself flowers, little gifts, or going out by myself? I don’t get it. I do that all the time, and it hasn’t helped me. Well, my guest on the show today ISN’T another wellness, self-care, or lifestyle expert {but I love those guests too!}. Today, my guest is Debbie Novitsky, and she is a Date Yourself Challenge alumna + one of my clients inside the Dating Mindset Bootcamp. In this episode, Debbie shares how dating herself helped her: Stop waiting on him to find her Become more magnetic to the people around her Not just love herself, but do THIS instead Built her confidence to live the life she dreamed of + build her own business Join the Date Yourself Challenge {the fun starts May 13th}: veronicagrant.com/dateyourselfchallenge Grab the show notes: veronicagrant.com/episode18

Today on Date Yourself Radio I’ve got Body Positive Wellness Coach Kaila Prins. I recently met Kaila through a women’s podcasting networking group, and when I learned about her story, I knew I wanted her to share it with you all. Kaila describes herself as a happy kid growing up, but once she realized that boys were a thing you could kiss, have crushes on, and be crushed on, it sent her down a path of not understanding who really owned her body. What I really loved about Kaila’s story is that her journey from disordered eating goes beyond recovery. She wanted to live beyond the “strong not skinny” mentality of many women recovering from disordered eating. She went into a phase she calls discovery, which is about filling the void of obsessing over food + exercise with other things. Enter pole + burlesque dancing. Aka, dating yourself. In this episode, Kaila shares: How she didn’t know her body belonged to her How she started dating after recovering from orthorexia, anorexia, and exercise addiction How recovery wasn’t enough for Kaila to move beyond disordered eating About Kaila Kaila Prins is a body positive wellness coach, burlesque and pole dancer, and voiceover actor. After recovering from orthorexia, anorexia, and exercise addiction, she has set out to understand and overturn the reasons why we're all so darn uncomfortable in our own bodies. Using her podcast, Finding Our Hunger, as the medium and burlesque, pole dance, and drag as a message, Kaila Prins speaks radical truths about body positivity, health at every size, feminism, sexuality, and recovery...usually while covered in glitter. My journey in the self-development space began almost 10 years ago as a fitness instructor. I taught Cardio Combo, Kickboxing, Muscle Pump, the works. In fact, it was my experience as a fitness instructor that inspired my original business as a health coach. A lot of my students came into my fitness classes asking me to ‘work them hard’ because of what they ate the night or weekend before. I’m finally getting back into having a healthy relationship to fitness, which is why I was so excited about this interview. Tanja is spot ons, and I love the parallels she draws between a healthy relationship to fitness + healthy relationships.   Here’s what you’ll learn: Why the goal behind your fitness goal is really what to focus on. How being so obsessed with weight loss + fitness can sabotage your current or future relationships. How to be okay with where you are now, but still have weight loss or fitness goals.   About Tanja: Tanja is a west coast girl, born and raised in British Columbia. She loves climbing to the top of mountains + staring at just about any body of water from the Pacific Ocean to the Vedder River (that flows through my current home, Chilliwack).  She also loves an oversized cup of coffee, and listening to podcasts for entrepreneurs. You can find her writing blogs + publishing podcasts to inspire others, continuing her own education, running her fitness studio here in Chilliwack, and working with her amazing clients.     Grab all the links mentioned in the show, connect with Tanja, and join the Date Yourself Challenge at veronicagrant.com/episode15
