FATHER DUDE、「ALIBI」 ニューヨークを拠点に活動するふたり組、ブラストラックス。 メンバーは、トランペット奏者のアイヴァン、ドラマーのコナー。 どちらもジャズの有名ミュージシャンを数多く輩出した 《マンハッタン音楽学校》に通っていました。 在学中だった2014年、アイヴァンは、ニューヨークのブルックリンに手作りのスタジオを オープン。そこにドラマーのコナーを呼び、さっそくレコーディングを開始！ コナーがアドリブで叩いたドラムの音に合わせて曲を作り、 それを何気なくネットに上げたところ、、、1日で数万回再生されビックリ！ 「じゃあ、もっとやろうぜ！」となったのが、ブラストラックスの始まり。 以来、ドラムとトランペットを軸に曲作りをしていますが、 他に、ギター、ベース、鍵盤なども自分たちで演奏できちゃいます。 そんな活動を続ける中、、、「かっこいいトラックを作るやつらがいるぜ！」 とアーティスト仲間にも評判が広がり、 これまで、チャンス・ザ・ラッパー、アンダーソン・パーク、 ハリー・スタイルズなどのレコーディングに参加し、引っぱりだこ！ 昨年末、自身のNEWアルバム『Welcome Back Era』をリリースしました！

Both worlds are completely different in their own way. If you've only worked with rappers in the studio, you've got a lot to learn when it comes to working with singers/songwriters. Some say working with rappers is easy because it's just verses and adlibs. With singers, you're stacking harmonies, coming up with melodies and lyrics, concepts, etc. How different or how similar are the two? What are some things we should keep in mind to play our roles in the studio as music producers and engineers?
