Today's Top 5 at 5 celebrates the 2024 Eagles Super Bowl LIX Championship, counting down the five biggest things we can now admit about that unforgettable run — from clinching the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy with a 40–22 win over the Chiefs to the defining moments that made this season one for the ages.
Before we tackle the big game, we ask Stan what the Chiefs can learn from watching the Seahawks and Patriots and how they got here for Super Bowl 60. His answer will surprise you, not because it's detailed and thorough. It's because it involves asking Patrick Mahomes to be different kind of quarterback as we start KC 2.0. As you may know, Stan famously created a mathematic, interesting and fun board game decades ago that plugs in an entire season's stats so he can play teams against each other with his friends the entire off season. He's played a bunch of games between Seattle and New England and he will share his results. As analyst for the K-State Network, Stan has been courtside for most of the really good teams in the Big 12 and he will rank them in order for us. Spoiler... KU is really climbing. And he shares what it will take for the Missouri Tigers to make the NCAA Tourney.

They see Lindsey Vonn’s practice run at the Olympics on a torn ACL before they run through some free agent RB’s they want the Broncos to pursue.

Today we sit down with the Dallas Chief of Police for another episode, but this one comes with two special cohosts to guide this story. Class 406 recruits, Jeremy Delafuente and Casandra Palmer join Chief Comeaux to discuss their short time with the Department and what it means to them to be the future of the profession. Casandra, growing up in Miami, did her research on where to serve and ultimately decided on calling Dallas her new home and her classmate, Jeremy, didn't have to travel far to join DPD. The Dallas Police Department has been in existence since 1881 and we have only had 31 Police Chiefs and so many great many men and women have put on our badge and served that never get to sit down with one of these Chiefs so we wanted to take a different approach to hear from the future of our Department and get their thoughts on how this journey is beginning for them and how we can continue to evolve our culture of excellency. Class 406 will graduate on February 27th, 2026.

The Olathe City Council approved a 165 acre area for a local STAR bond district to be the new corporate home and practice facility for the Kansas City Chiefs. This was a no-brainer for Olathe. Officials held a meeting in WYCO as well on Tuesday and will vote to approve their local area for STAR bonds on Thursday. They say it's small and only includes the new Chiefs area. We'll see how bit the state of Kansas bond district is somewhere down the road. It's ticking me off that KSU media and fans are just now on board with what I told them three years ago... Jerome Tang is an awful basketball coach. Nothing personal, I wouldn't be any good at it either. But with an $18 million buyout, these people are focusing on the wrong man. AD Gene Taylor is the person that should be fired and they should cut off all funding to Tang and let him lose horribly for at least another year. Oh, I've got the right plan for KSU but who knows if anyone in charge is ballsy enough to pull the trigger. And all the KSU media types that have ripped me for three years over this... I accept your apology. It wouldn't be Super Bowl week without a grandpa Mahomes alcohol arrest, a Lions fan seems to have a legitimate lawsuit against a whole bunch of people that have given him the Jussie Smollet treatment. There's a crime podcaster reporting a new break in the Nancy Guthrie mystery. Chris Cuomo comes clean on complete botching his Covid coverage and a new steakhouse is coming to KC that I'm betting is a better night out than 1587.
On today’s episode, Jason discusses why he's not a big fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers' decision to trade Darius Garland for James Harden, whether we can expect Giannis Antetokounmpo to get dealt before Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline, and why the Utah Jazz' acquisition of Jaren Jackson Jr was such a breath of fresh air - even if it doesn't actually lead to a big leap up the standings. Plus, FTN Fantasy Chiefs Analytics Officer Aaron Schatz swings by to discuss the historically great Seattle Seahawks, whether the New England Patriots offense is closer to the one we saw in the regular season or the one we've seen in the postseason, which of the NFL head coaching hires could provide the biggest dividends, and much more! #FSR Follow Jason on Twitter and Instagram. It's what if Wednesday on Mundo in the Morning. John dives into three thought-provoking scenarios. First, what if the Kansas City Council actually cared about resident feedback on the proposed practice facility at K10 and Ridgeview. Would it have made a difference in the unanimous vote? Next, he and Pete explore what if the Kansas STAR bond district pays off 15 years early, and how that would impact the state's revenue. Finally, the guys consider what if the KCMO Talk Radio audience is booming in Slater, Missouri, and how that might change the conversation. These "what ifs" lead to interesting discussions about decision-making and the potential consequences of different outcomes.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

So much buildup and so little sizzle as Mayor Q is a panelist on CBS Face the Nation and I'm really disappointed. We were hoping he'd be asked about KC being the per capita homeless capital of America or his police chief declaring "drastic" measures to cutback the force because the budget is whacked. Instead, he almost got edited out completely. The word around the cowtown is the Chiefs will be announcing the exact location of their new stadium this week... we'll tell you where the smart money is. Meanwhile, the Royals say they will be announcing their decision sooner than later where they are going. NBA coach Steve Kerr has been forced to apologize for his outrageous lies about the Trump administration and ICE. It was real. But another coach won't back off and is worried ICE will start kidnapping international players and sending them home. What a fool. KU star Darryn Peterson sits again after KU built a huge lead over BYU. He's healthy for tonight's game so maybe this was something else. I have a new theory. Mark Turgeon is the new basketball coach at Kansas City (UMKC) and this is a great hire. Goalies throw down at center ice and one of the world's most famous musicians makes a video in the middle of the Tallgrass Prairie reserve in the Flint Hills.
