Growing Through Grad School is a podcast about personal growth and self-care in graduate school hosted by clinical psychology Ph.D. students Rebecca Miller, M.A. and Christian Mallett, M.S. In this episode, Christian sat down with his colleague Maxwell Anderson, M.S., who shared tips on sleep hygiene and discussed the two-process model of sleep regulation. This week's episode we're discussing the personal development that occurs along the grad school journey. Allanté sits down with Becky + Christian of the podcast Growing Through Grad School to discuss the topic! About the hosts of Growing Through Grad School: Christian and Becky are both 4th year doctoral students studying clinical psychology at Howard University. Christian currently researches adverse childhood experiences, Black identity, and health outcomes and is a leading researcher in his lab at HU. Christian received his Bachelors and M.S. (clinical psych) from Howard. In his career, he plans to deliver therapy and conduct research. Becky received a M.A. in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas in 2013. Her research focuses on the perceived benefits of participating in complimentary and alternative healing practices, as well as gender-expansive populations, and inclusive feminist perspectives in psychology. Her clinical work focuses on providing culturally sensitive, comprehensive psychological evaluations to bilingual children in DC charter schools and training school staff to work competently with students of color from low SES backgrounds in DC. She does psychotherapy with young adults at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), with a focus on the LGBTQ+ and autism spectrums.
