The 38th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the seventh edition of the Salon de TE were held at the HKCEC on 3-7 September 2019. The two concurrent events provided an annual platform for the industry players to explore business opportunities. Various activities held during the fairs enabled exhibitors and buyers from around the globe to promote their brands and to foster collaborations, restating Hong Kong’s role in the international watch and clock market.

Showcasing timepieces from some of the world’s top brands, the 37th HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4-8 September 2018. The concurrent event Salon de TE gathered over 120 internationally acclaimed brands and designer collections under five thematic zones, while seminars and networking events fostered the sharing of market insights and industry exchange.

Smart watches have been in profusion at the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair 2016 – which saw the first appearance of a Hong Kong developed smart watchstrap with a flexible battery. The Buyers’ Forum illuminated opportunities related to China’s Belt and Road Initiative and guest Pamela Tan of Singapore’s Crystal Time said the Initiative will enhance Hong Kong’s “super-connector” role.

China’s new regional Belt and Road trade development strategy will assist the international thrust of the country’s burgeoning timepiece production industry, says Nick Gu, Co-founder of watch producer Eone Timepieces. Mr Gu speaks beside the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair 2015, where he displays a watch designed for use by blind people, and says the Fair holds a unique, leading position in the watch industry.

A rare behind-the-scenes look at the “deluxe train journey” concept crafted for the 3-7 September 2014 Salon de TE - a marketing component of the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair. The construction for the themed exhibits and booths lasted three days, covered some 8,700 square metres of hall and concourse space inside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
