This week on Beale Street Caravan we have Memphis R&B and jazz Guitarist, Joe Restivo, celebrating the release of his debut solo project, “Where's Joe.” Grammy nominated blues man, Guy Davis, will be with us to deliver an installment of the Blues Hall of Fame, an exploration of the lives of the pioneers and innovators enshrined in the Blues Hall of Fame, here in Memphis, TN, brought to you by the Blues Foundation.
This week on Beale Street Caravan we have a star-studded lineup, joined together for an important cause: to defend the integrity of Memphis' drinking water. Grammy nominated artists Shemekia Copeland and Jim Lauderdale, along with Nashville singer-songwriter Will Kimbrough, iconic singer-songwriter and folk musician, Livingston Taylor, as well as Reba Russell, Joe Restivo and John Nemeth, and others, all got together for one night to sing, play, and raise money to make sure that our water remains a fresh, suitable source of life in our community.
Cyrena Wages has an album preview party at the Memphis Listening Lab on Feb. 1 at 6:30 pm, including songs from her debut album , a Q&A with the album's producer, Matt Ross-Spang, and performances of a few of the songs live with Joe Restivo.

In our longest interview to date we sit down with Joe Restivo. Joe is a first rate musician and first call session guitarist here in Memphis. Restivo is an extremely busy man working with multiple bands like the Lovelight Orchestra, The MD’s, various jazz combos, and more. Recently Joe has been touring with the legendary Don Bryant and has just released his album “Where’s Joe.” We get into touring, gear, Memphis history, and old TV shows. It's real-deal Memphis Blues... the kind of sophisticated blues and jazz sounds you would have heard floating from the windows of The Palace on Beale Street in the 40's and 50's. Keeping the flame burning bright is Memphis’ own Love Light Orchestra. Love Light Orchestra features Blues Music Award-winner John Nemeth on vocals, Joe Restivo on guitar, Tim Goodwin on bass, Earl Lowe on drums, Gerald Stephens on keys, and a five piece horn section that includes Marc Franklin, Scott Thompson, Art Edmaiston, Jason Yasinksy, and Kirk Smothers. The band has recently signed to Blue Barrel Records and released a full-length record produced by Matt Ross-Spang.

LLO features Blues Music Award-winner John Nemeth on vocals, Joe Restivo on guitar, Tim Goodwin on bass, Earl Lowe on drums, Gerald Stephens on keys, and a five piece horn section that includes Marc Franklin, Scott Thompson, Art Edmaiston, Jason Yasinksy, and Kirk Smothers.
