Today we are speaking with Kendra Rubin, Class of 2012, who was named the chief legal officer at the State Employees Federal Credit Union (SEFCU) just weeks ago. Prior to SEFCU she was the vice president of governmental affairs with the New York State Credit Union Association and spent time in public service in the New York State Governor's Office, the Department of Health, and the Bureau of Program Counsel. She was named to City & State's 40 under 40 list in 2019. While at Albany Law School, Rubin was president of the Pro Bono Society and was a recipient of the prestigious Edgar '46 and Margaret Sandman Fellowship. On 3 March 2014, Judge Nicholas Forwood delivered a lecture entitled "Protecting Individual Rights: Role of the General Court of Justice of the EU" as a guest of the Cambridge University Students' Pro Bono Society. Judge Forwood is the British judge in the General Court of Justice of the European Union, and spoke about how this institution can protect individual rights and about the recent developments in the area of European Human Rights law. She is also a trustee of the National Pro Bono Centre and the Mary Ward Legal Centre and was included in the Times 2012 Law 100 list.
