The end of an era is here as fans bawl their eyes out (guilty as charged) over the series finale of SyFy's time travel show, 12 Monkeys. In our “Initiate Splinter Sequence” podcast, co-hosts ChinLin and Isaac will recap and review the series finale, episodes 10-11. It’s the premiere episode of the Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! podcast – a podcast designed for professional women over 40! While most episodes will go from 30 – 40 minutes, this episode is short and to the point, introducing who I am (Karyn Beach, host/producer) and then defining exactly what I mean by fun, feisty and fabulous. Oh, and I’ll also announce our first contest! Two lucky winners will receive $100 Amazon gift cards … just in time for holiday shopping! Who are You? I’m Karyn Beach, host of Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! and former host of the Get It Together Girl podcast. While I have a degree in journalism, I stepped away from that field a long time ago. Yet, I still missed it. Podcasting gives me the opportunity to go back to one of my first loves. My second love is writing, so I blog at www.funfeistyfab.com and I have self-published five books available on Amazon.com. I’m also a certified life coach and as such, I am committed and passionate about helping others live their lives to the fullest. I used to say that in the newspaper of life, I would be a comic strip somewhere between Cathy and the Far Side. However, it is 2016 and no one reads newspapers anymore. So, in the myriad of cable and on-demand networks, I would be a television show, sort of a cross between The New Girl and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In upcoming episodes, there will be plenty of time to share dating horror stories and embarrassing stories. Why Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! With Get It Together Girl, I dove right in and created weekly episodes for about 2 years. I had fun and interviewed some amazing people. The only problem was that I dove in so quickly, I didn’t really prepare as I should have. I kept learning things I should have done before the show started or while it was still relatively new to boost my listenership. Clearly, a redo was in order. In the spring of 2016, I discontinued Get It Together Girl and took some time to research and prepare my new show. This time, instead of reaching out to all women, I would focus on women like me, professional women over 40. When I googled ‘women over 40’, I found a lot of dating and fashion advice. Like you, I think I’m a little bit more than what I wear and who’s on my arm. And just like that, Fun. Feisty. Fabulous was born. What is this all about? Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! (or Triple F because the full name can be a mouthful) celebrates who we are at this point in our lives. 40 isn’t the new 30. 40 is 40. 45 is 45. 50 is 50 and so on. You’ve lived a life filled with experience and knowledge and that should be acknowledged and celebrated. You have earned your age so embrace it. When I talk about fun, I’m talking about anything that brings you peace and relaxation and that could be anything from taking a stroll to an afternoon of shopping or an night of amazing sex! In the stricter sense, fun is about laughter, goofiness and just being silly! We’ll do that too! That fighting spirit, that fierce independence is what I am talking about when I talk about being feisty. As we grow older we naturally grow feistier, get better at speaking up for ourselves and going after what we want. In this segment, we’ll feature real women who have embraced their feistiness and have an incredible story to tell. New episodes are available every Tuesday around noon. Listen on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and other podcast outlets. Join the Triple F Facebook community to comment on the show or connect with other fun, feisty and fabulous women. Amazon Gift Card Contest To celebrate the launching of the podcast, I’m giving away two $100 gift cards. To enter the contest, all you have to do is write a review of the podcast on the iTunes page (hopefully you’ll like it). The deadline for the contest is December 9, 2016. And you’ll receive the cards in time to do some holiday shopping. Forget the crowded mall, buy something from family or friends, from the comfort of your own home. What could be better??? Basta and Doug take a long, hard look at their lives, their journey into podcasting, and say some things that end up getting censored (probably for the better).
