This message includes Week 1 of our new series, Flourish. In this series, Pastor Scott will be answering the question, "What are the 3 things we need to flourish in a moment like we're experiencing in 2020?" He shares the first thing in this message - we need an awareness of God's presence.

This weekend we will celebrate our 40th Anniversary! This will include worship songs, communion, hearing stories of how Bethel got started, celebrating communion, and a message about the Biblical background to the name "Bethel." We're going to look at the story of Bethel in the Bible and reflect on what this means for our church -- our past and our future.
Using Jacob's Dream of a ladder reaching to heaven, guest speaker Rev. Linda Powers highlighted how Jacob was an ordinary man that was chosen by God. Once Jacob realized that the place he laid was sacred ground, he built an altar to God.
Whether it is daylight or darkness; whether you are home, in the process of leaving home, or returning home; whether you are estranged from your family or as close as you have ever been with them: may you know that the Lord is with you, and may the Lord take you – Jacob-like – to your true home. And when you arrive, may you recognize it with the joy and wonder that came to Jacob. Larry Hayward continues the series “In the Beginning” with Genesis 28:10-19.
