When people interpret end times prophecy, they tend to treat it as something sensational and tantalizing. But it is simple: what God designed in the beginning will be in the end. There are still many events that need to come to pass before the end. It is important to study the word so that we do not fall for crazy interpretations. Before one can understand who the great whore is in the book of Revelation, a lot of historical premise must be set from the book of Genesis. Learning about Nimrod, Babel, the tower of Babel, and Babylon sets the stage for understanding its symbolic meaning in the book of Revelation as it is referenced in connection with “the great whore.” VF-2433 Revelation 17 & 18 Watch, Listen and Learn 24x7 at PastorMelissaScott.com Pastor Melissa Scott teaches from Faith Center in Glendale. Happy Easter Ridge family! Today, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In today's message, Pastor Scott poses a simple yet profound question to us: if the resurrection is indeed true, what will we do with Jesus? The choice is ours—to reject, neglect, or accept Jesus.
In this Easter Sermon, based on Luke 24:1-12, Pastor Scott explores the hopeful promise of the empty tomb, by way of direwolf de-extinction and Jurassic Park. This is the assigned text for Sunday April 20th, Easter Sunday.

The Church of England has been in the news for labeling God “gender neutral.” What a tragedy considering this church's rich history, and how completely blasphemous! We don't need to change scripture. The doctrine of the Holy Spirit teaches us that God made provision for all His children when He gave the third person of the Godhead which is neutral, meaning He can inhabit both men and women. The church is under attack from people trying to bring in their own ideological baggage. All are welcome in church, but the point is for God's word to open people's eyes, equip them, and change them. We are not to dictate the terms on which we come to God. The church must stand firm and hold fast to the word we have received. The church is confused about its mission, and The Guardian has capitalized on it by releasing an article entitled, “Losing their Religion: Why U.S. Churches Are on the Decline” in an attempt to brainwash Americans into thinking Christianity is dying or dead. Rather than accomplishing its goal, it has become the launching pad to revisit history, specifically the history of Christianity in America, and realign with the principles and preaching that propelled America to greatness. The problem with the church at large is the treating of the word of God lightly. As a result, what the world sees coming out of the church is everything but His word. Some things that God spoke in prophecies and parables remain mysteries for a time. God makes the meaning of these things clear to those who trust Him when the appointed time comes. In this sermon for Palm Sunday, Pastor Scott explores Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem that kicks off the events of Holy Week. This sermon is based on Luke 19:28-44.
Listen as Pastor Scott Andrews preached from Luke 9:43b-48 on Sunday, April 13th, 2025.
Good morning, SaMoNaz - I wanted to do something a little different today. Usually I send an email with a brief reflection to help us prepare for the worship gathering. But today I thought I would also made it available in audio in hopes that maybe if you can't sit down to read something today, you can listen to it while you make breakfast or putter around the house this morning. For now I'm calling this a one-off audio, but who knows. Maybe it'll stick. And so for today, I wanted to share a couple of quotes as we prepare for the worship gathering and then a small reflection all of which shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. One quote is from Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the other is from Soren Kierkegaard. Bonhoeffer says, “The cross is not the terrible end to an otherwise god-fearing and happy life, but it meets us at the beginning of our communion with Christ.” And Kierkegaard says, “The difference between an admirer and a follower still remains, no matter where you are. The admirer never makes any true sacrifices. He always plays it safe. Though in words, phrases, songs, he is inexhaustible about how highly he prizes Christ, he renounces nothing, gives up nothing, will not reconstruct his life, will not be what he admires, and will not let his life express what it is he supposedly admires.” What I like about the Bonhoeffer quote this is how the cross is not an accessory to the Christian life, but the essence. To know Christ (and, thus, to know God) is to know him as crucified. There is no real communion with Christ other than with him on the cross. What I like about the Kierkegaard quote is the recognition that there are admirers of Jesus who are not truly followers. Both of these quotes are quite sobering in our North American culture where it is quite easy to identify as a Christian without the need to actually follow or imitate Christ. What further complicates this is that sides have formed about with means to follow Christ. I write this partly in hopes that we might recognize if and when we slide into admiration of Christ when the going gets tough. But maybe even more importantly that we remember the cross does not mean all things to all people. It means something particular of the one who was crucified in the social, political, economic, and religious context of his day. Our witness as the church depends on being able to see this coherently and truthfully. Palm Sunday is a time to remember this as the people wave branches and shout Hosanna at Jesus as he rides into Jerusalem, people who are perhaps not quite so aware that he—he who is the least of these, the poor one with no place to lay his head, who offended religious bureaucrats for loving their power more than people, who makes a way of inclusion for the marginalized, who makes is easier for the voiceless to be heard, who says renounce your privilege and sell all you have if the rising tide benefits you but not another, he who stares relentlessly into our eyes asking who do you say that I am?—this is the one riding to the cross and calling them and us to follow. See you at 10:30am for worship. Grace and Peace, Pastor Scott
The thousand-year period after the Great Tribulation will be a foretaste of eternity. The saints of all ages will be resurrected, and Christ will dwell among us and reign in Jerusalem. Eight items that were in the tabernacle and the former temple will be missing from the final Temple described by Ezekiel, because they will be fulfilled by Christ. Until that time, we are to stay the course and keep the faith in anticipation of His return. The Feast of Tabernacles was a time to commemorate the forty years of wandering in the wilderness, but it was also a time of thanksgiving to God. It occurred at harvest time, and when Christ returns, there will be a final harvest. In that future time, those who were against Him will be forced to keep this feast. Pastor Scott explores Jesus' pivotal moment in Gethsemane where three prayer requests reveal the foundation of our salvation and provide a blueprint for our own spiritual lives.• The name Gethsemane means "oil press," symbolizing how Jesus was pressed three times to produce our salvation, healing, and cleansing• "Remain here" is Jesus' call to proximity - our effectiveness comes from being close to Him, not just doing things for Him• "Watch with me" is the call to spiritual alertness - waking up to what God is doing rather than sleepwalking through faith• "Pray that you may not enter into temptation" teaches us that prayer is not just communication but formation of inner strength• The disciples' failure to pray with Jesus foreshadowed their inability to stand firm when tested later• The three pressings of oil extraction parallel Jesus' three prayers and the three blessings we receive: sacred anointing, healing, and cleansing• Jesus demonstrated true surrender by saying "not my will, but yours" - the victory was won in the garden before the crossJoin us next week as Pastor Rusty brings the Palm Sunday message as we continue our journey toward Easter.

Yom Kippur, known in the English as the Day of Atonement was an Old Testament system that provided covering for the people's sin for the past year. This system failed because people need more than a covering. The good news is when we study this set time through the eyes of Christ, we can see that He fulfilled it, and because of His sacrifice we are washed and cleansed from all of our sin, not just simply covered. Silver trumpets were used for several purposes in God's plan. They were used for a call to the people to assemble, a call to battle and to proclaim the Feast of Trumpets. In his sermon "Joseph's Life: A Masterclass In Faith," Pastor Scott Bland delivers an inspiring character study of Joseph from the Old Testament, tracing his remarkable journey from favored son to enslaved prisoner, and ultimately to second-in-command in Egypt. Pastor Scott highlights how Joseph's life, spanning Genesis 37 to 50, exemplifies resilience and godliness amid adversity—betrayed by his jealous brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned, yet sustained by God's presence and purpose. Through Joseph's story, Pastor Scott underscores the transformative power of forgiveness and faith, culminating in Joseph's declaration to his brothers in Genesis 50:19-20: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good,” as he preserved a remnant of Israel during famine. This message encourages listeners to endure life's trials with gratitude and trust in God's plan, reflecting on Joseph's unwavering character as a model for overcoming personal struggles and extending grace to others.Verse References: Genesis 37 through 50Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information!https://godspeak.comPrayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. 1. Be devoted to PrayerHe will ask the Church to pray specifically for opening doors in order that he may be able to preach the gospel even though he is in chains (v.3). But first, he asks the Church to be watchful and thankful while praying. When I think of Paul's request to be watchful, I think of a lifeguard canning the ocean making sure that nothing is wrong or under attack. Thankfulness stems from us experiencing His grace. 2. Engage outsiders.Paul encourages the Church to engage outsiders but gives us some ways to do so. Be wise (v.5), Let our conversations be full of Grace and seasoned with salt(v.6) In other words, full of love and compassion (grace) but not to compromise the truth (salt). In that time the people would have understood two things about salt. Salt was used to preserve and to put in wounds to fight off infection. In the same way our conversations with outsiders should be focused on God's unconditional love, fueled by our passion for Jesus and others, but making sure we are not compromising or watering down the message of the Gospel. Jesus demonstrated this with his conversation with the women caught in adultery. Jesus asked her, “Who has condemned you, I don't condemn you” this is grace. He then says, “Go and sin no more” this is the salt. 3. Make DisciplesOur job is to make new disciples and teach them to become like Jesus. Paul points out that we should all be ready to answer everyone (v.6)I believe that takes learning the scripture and living out the scripture. James tells us to not just be hearers but doers of the Word.
We need both Old and New Testaments to see the full picture of what God was doing when He instituted The Passover. While the Old Testament celebration provided a temporary covering, it could never wash and cleanse us, eradicate all of our past, present, and future sin, and give us eternal life. That came through the New Testament revelation in Christ. VF-2399 Exodus 11-12 Watch, Listen and Learn 24x7 at PastorMelissaScott.com Pastor Melissa Scott teaches from Faith Center in Glendale.
