For as long as humans have been on this earth, we have looked to the cosmos for information and direction. The Indigenous people of North America used the skies to make sense of their environments and to guide them in planting crops, building villages, and conducting ceremonies. The new exhibition at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Makowa: The Worlds Above Us, showcases a wide range of art, photographs, videos, and more to center the wisdom and longevity of Native astronomy and to remind us that we are all interconnected. On this episode of Encounter Culture, guest consultants for the Makowa exhibition, Misha Pipe and Kaela Waldstein, join host Emily Withnall in the studio to talk about all of this and more. A CMO Confidential Interview with Michael Treff, the CEO of Code + Theory, a growing 2000 person agency which combines technology and creativity. Michael discusses the disruption in consumer behavior, why B2B client service is becoming more holistic, and why companies should "go on offense" in a time of uncertainty. Key topics include: The strategic question of "What do you want your humans to be doing;" his belief that there will be a growing demand for ROI on tech spending; how everyone can become a creative change agent; and why he hates the concept of "The Big Idea." Tune in to hear the lesson of "prompt engineers" and an analogy of how playing in a punk band is like learning to use AI.In this week's episode of CMO Confidential, five-time CMO Mike Linton is joined by Michael Treff, CEO of award-winning agency Code and Theory for a no-holds-barred discussion on why most AI strategies are missing the point.Treff—who leads an agency named B2B Agency of the Year by Ad Age and innovation standout by Fast Company—argues that leaders are mistaking AI tools for strategy. Instead, he lays out a bold case for orchestration—aligning people, tools, and data across the enterprise to drive real customer value. Together, Mike and Michael unpack: • Why B2B marketers need to stop treating customers like corporate buyers and start treating them like humans. • Why defensive strategies during disruption are a recipe for irrelevance. • The myth of the “big idea”—and why creativity has been democratized. • Why prompt engineers were never the future. • What AI orchestration really means—and how it can finally connect data silos, unify customer journeys, and drive performance.Whether you're a CMO, agency leader, or aspiring executive, this is an unmissable playbook for navigating AI disruption, avoiding short-sighted efficiency traps, and building brands that thrive.

The Skill Swap Side Hustle – Earn Money by Connecting People (Without Going Online) In this episode of Join Up Dots, we explore a brilliantly simple and refreshingly offline side hustle idea that's built entirely on human connection. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the digital noise of online platforms like Etsy, eBay, or social media algorithms, this episode offers you a breath of fresh air—and a genuine business opportunity that starts right on your doorstep. The Skill Swap Side Hustle is all about harnessing the value that already exists within your local community. It's about connecting people who have something to teach with those who are eager to learn, and positioning yourself right in the middle of that exchange. Think of it as becoming a local connector—someone who knows who teaches guitar, who wants to learn how to knit, or who needs help speaking Spanish for an upcoming trip. Every connection you make becomes an opportunity for income, value, and community building. The inspiration for this hustle comes from a real-life moment: a retired woman sharing her photography skills with a teenager in a quiet café. No app. No advertising. Just a few coins exchanged for knowledge and a shared experience. That simple moment sparked the realisation that there are countless people with skills they'd be happy to share—if only someone brought them together. That “someone” could be you. Throughout the episode, we dive into how this works practically. From retired bakers teaching sourdough to curious home cooks, teenagers trading guitar lessons for Spanish tutoring, or community members meeting for a “Speed Skill Swap” evening—this idea flourishes through the everyday connections all around us. You don't need a website or a storefront. You just need ears, eyes, and a willingness to bring people together. You can charge a small fee per introduction, run local events, or build a simple subscription-based network for your area. People trust human introductions far more than online ads or anonymous listings, and that's what makes this side hustle not just powerful, but sustainable. You become known as the go-to person for unlocking hidden talents and making learning accessible and personal. What makes this hustle even more exciting is its low barrier to entry. There's no need for investment in inventory or tech. All it takes is starting conversations, taking notes, and matching people up. As you grow, so do the opportunities—running workshops, expanding to nearby towns, and even partnering with schools, councils, or community organisations. The episode explores the deeper human truth behind the hustle: people want connection. Many feel isolated, overlooked, or unused, despite having decades of experience or unique knowledge. Others want to learn and grow but don't know where to turn. This model bridges that gap. It empowers both the teachers and the learners—and it pays you to make that happen. Of course, we tackle the most common objections too. Why would people pay for this? Because they're tired of looking for help online and want a trusted, warm introduction. Isn't this just being a middleman? Absolutely. And in today's world, being a caring, present, human middleman is more powerful than ever. Is there enough demand? The demand for learning is endless—DIY, languages, crafts, cooking, tech, hobbies—and the skills already exist in our communities, waiting to be discovered. So, if you're looking for a business idea that's meaningful, rewarding, and easy to start, this episode is for you. It's perfect for those who enjoy people, like being helpful, and want to earn by creating value out of connection. It's also ideal for those wanting to escape the digital hustle in favour of something more personal and real. Listen in to discover how to start your own Skill Swap Side Hustle today. You'll walk away with a clear action plan, inspiration, and the tools to launch something impactful in just a few days. Whether it's organising one match or hosting a community event, the journey starts with a conversation—and that conversation could be life-changing. If this episode lights a fire in you, don't keep it to yourself. Share it with someone who thrives on helping others. Let's spread this movement of local connection and offline income. Use the hashtags #JoinUpDots #SkillSwapSideHustle #OfflineIncome #ConnectEarnGrow to tell the world about it. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and leave a review. S6E63 Climate change is shifting the landscape—literally. But what does that mean for wildlife, especially bats? This episode takes us into the Connecting People and Landscapes in a Changing Climate project, a hands-on effort bringing farmers, landowners, and communities together across the South-West to make the countryside work for both people and nature. Thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project is digging into how nature-friendly farming can help wildlife survive and thrive. We're talking to the people on the ground—farmers, conservationists, and locals—who are teaming up to survey wildlife, engage communities, and figure out what really works.
