TJ Macias of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram joined our Otto Strong and Aaron Berlin this week to discuss the Dallas Mavericks and their playoff series with the Los Angeles Clippers. With Luka Doncic struggling with a neck strain issue, Macias and our hosts discuss if it might make good strategic sense for the Mavs to sit their superstar for Game 5. The Dallas Mavericks were flying along with a 2-0 lead in their First Round NBA Playoff series versus the L.A. Clippers. Then, their superstar Luka Doncic developed a neck strain during Game 3 and the team has struggled ever since. TJ Macias of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram joined our Otto Strong and Aaron Berlin and discussed what options are on the table for Dallas, including sitting Doncic for Game 5 to allow for a potential return to health for Game 6, and possibly Game 7. Macias also dishes on how the Mavs can counter the Clippers "small ball" lineup, why Kristaps Porzingis hasn't developed into the second superstar that the team had hoped and how the intelligence of former Maverick Rajon Rondo, now with the Clippers, has been a thorn in Head Coach Rick Carlisle's side. On the back end, the fellas discuss the issues of fan behavior (or the lack thereof) at some of these playoff games.

DISCLAIMER: This episode was holstered for a while thanks to some incredibly poor-timing, followed by a lot of other issues both related and unrelated to the show. It is about Luke Walton's allegations, and this episode may have conversations and language that go into some uncomfortable places. It is mentioned in the episode, but you will see that an example we use aged poorly because it was recorded literally about 12 hours before an example we used (DeMarcus Cousins) had his own issues come to light. We decided to keep the conversation intact, however, and while that aspect aged poorly, the conversation around it is still very important. Brad (@therealbradg) is joined by TJ Macias (@pocket_siren) as the two discuss the looming cloud that is the Luke Walton situation, what sports can do about these situations, and when our priorities regarding sports become skewed. It's an admittedly uneasy thing to talk about, and while we try to stay inside our lane, these are very much our own individual thoughts. Learn more about your ad choices.
