Head Coach Philip Sanford joined the bench and hosted this game featuring Eric Ede and Markkus versus Scott and Mason. In it, we learned that Bobby Jackson was pivotal for the early 2000's Kings, both teams correctly identified bovine mascots, Chris Webber still didn't have a timeout, and that apparently abstinence leads to longevity. https://www.patreon.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.facebook.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.twitter.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.instagram.com/benchwarmerstp/ https://www.teepublic.com/stores/benchwarmers-trivia-podcast

Legendary NBA point guard, Mike Bibby, joins the guys on Hoop Dreams The Podcast. Will and Arthur dig into Bibby's origin story and hear some classic tales from his 14 year NBA career. From playing for a run and gun high school team, at Shadow mountain that averaged 98 points a game (ya in high school!!), to winning a national championship with the 1997 Arizona Wildcats and going on to be the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft. Mike was one of the original Jordan athletes and played with stars Chris Webber, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony and many many more, he even witnessed "Linsanity" first hand in New York. How did he end up playing in the Big 3, well as Mike tells us, "I mean you get a call from Ice Cube, I don't care what he asks... the answer is yes". Sit back and listen to an NBA legend drop some knowledge and give you the scoop on what goes on behind the scenes... Oh did you hear about Ron Artest pulling up to a game in an F1 race car.... At long last (or more specifically, 48 hours, the time it took to clear waivers), DeAndre Jordan officially signed his contract with the Lakers on Thursday, and did an introductory press conference. The most interesting aspects to the Kamenetzky Brothers weren't as much about the details he offered (although he did seem excited to compete and amiable towards whatever role is needed of him), but rather how he was asked questions that framed Lakers-Nets as a rivalry. It is... in the sense that these are the consensus picks to make the Finals, and the storylines are incredibly juicy fun. But it's also not, in the sense that there's no recent history to speak of whatsoever between these squads. In fact, they've barely even faced each. other in their current incarnations. From there, a listener question from John Smith (@boom_shaka), who asked which young Laker has the best chance of breaking out: Talen Horton-Tucker or Malik Monk? For the sake of variety, Kendrick Nunn was also included in the discussion, but in reality, on several fronts, the answer not only feels like THT, but really needs to be. And finally, with the Hall of Fame ceremony this weekend, the Kamenetzkys enjoy some "What if?" over inductee Chris Webber's recent comments that before getting traded to Sacramento in 1998, he'd been holding out hope of a move to the Lakers in exchange for Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, and Elden Campbell. Um... Shaq, Kobe AND C-Webb. Holy crap, what a fun team that would have been!!! Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Reactions to DeAndre Jordan's press conference. Magic. Gervin. How a Detroit church gym became the birthplace of legends The Once and Future Saint How one Detroit basketball court became a sanctuary for many Ceciliaville "Les Chroniques de Motor City", c'est votre podcast dédié à l'Histoire et à la Culture des Detroit Pistons. It's a special week at Daily Delivery as host Michael Rand takes a look back at five high-profile sporting events that took place in the Twin Cities within a one-year span 30 years ago. On today's episode, the finale of this five-part chronological series, Chip Scoggins joins Rand for a look back at the 1992 Final Four at the Metrodome. Yes, they awarded a Final Four to the same city and same site that had the Super Bowl just a couple months earlier. Duke won the title, but the lasting impact might have been Michigan's Fab Five freshmen, led by Jalen Rose, Chris Webber and Juwan Howard.
So when a rule is made, somebody, or a collective somebody had a reason for making that rule. Let's not get into the discussion of why or how the rule came to be, just that it's there for a reason. In the case of the Olympics, rules are influenced by all the countries involved, not just the United States. So if you break a rule, own it and suffer the consequences. Or don't break them. Period. You too Chris Webber. Just because the rule changed some 30 years later doesn't mean what you did is now OK. Reggie Bush, no, you don't get the Heisman back. What's wrong with people? Let me know how you feel about it.
All right. That's wishful thinking. Because we all know Chris, I've never done anything wrong, Webber isn't going to apologize. He's just going to continue to lie and maybe, somewhere along the line, everything will be OK, as if it never happened. And now that the NCAA is going to allow athletes to get paid for their name, image and likeness, Chris thinks he's absolved. No need to apologize to the University of Michigan. No need apologize to his fans and certainly, no need to apologize to his teammates. C'mon Chris, just say you're sorry. Everyone wiil appreciate you more for it.
Colin explains why we should expect this star studded NBA title contender to struggle in the postseason and why another team with championship hopes is likely to implode. Despite being a huge fan of LeBron James, he explains why it’s time for him to stop being so dramatic. He also believes this NFL player is clearly taking over the league and the face of a franchise despite not playing in almost a decade. Plus, new Hall of Fame inductee Chris Webber joins the show to preview the NBA playoffs before they officially begin. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com
