The Aftershock podcast is an absolute gem for anyone who loves to have background noise while working from home. As someone who hates working in silence, I constantly have music or the TV on, but this podcast has provided the perfect balance of entertainment without being distracting. In fact, it has actually made me more motivated to work so that I can keep listening to the show. The first season was recorded away from a studio, but the quality is still impressive. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen.
One of the best aspects of The Aftershock podcast is its ability to captivate and entertain listeners. The plot unfolds gradually, keeping you engaged and eager to know what happens next. The characters are well-developed and the world they inhabit is intriguing. There are plenty of twists and turns that keep the plot interesting and make it feel like solving a puzzle as everything fits together. The writing is top-notch, the acting is great, and the premise feels believable. It truly feels like a throwback to the theater of the mind era with its superior storytelling.
However, one downside of The Aftershock podcast is the overabundance of commercials. While commercials are expected in podcasts, it feels like there may be too many in this show. They can be a bit overkill and interrupt the flow of the story at times. It would have been better if they were either shortened or reduced in frequency to maintain a better balance between content and advertisements.
In conclusion, The Aftershock podcast is binge-worthy and highly enjoyable overall. Despite some overkill with commercials, it offers an engaging story with well-developed characters and plenty of surprises along the way. It's impressive that such quality production was achieved during a pandemic when most of the voice work was done remotely. Whether you're new to podcasts or not usually into fiction podcasts, this one is worth giving a listen to. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of season 2, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
