Hour 2: Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Jeff called Pitt-Louisville volleyball this Saturday in an exciting reverse sweep. Diontae Johnson and Najee Harris spoke out after the game. What do the Steelers do next? Give Jaylen Warren the ball more! Jeff said he's not getting enough touches and Warren should receive the majority of carries. We have more questions than answers. Crowley is out on Kenny Pickett. He feels like a Browns fan. It's not just about now for Dorin, it's about the future. There are multiple areas that need a restart. the future doesn't look stable. What's the best Christmas gift you've ever received? A look around the league at other quarterbacks in the NFL. Who would be a good option to try and add? Would the Vikings keep Josh Dobbs? The options for the Steelers are slim. A texter said Kenny Pickett is like family and we need to take care of him. Crowley's allegiance is to the logo, the Pittsburgh Steelers logo.
It was not pretty in Week 11 for the New York Jets. The team lost its third straight game in blowout fashion to the Buffalo Bills. Zach Wilson was benched. The offense once again could barely move the ball. Things look bleak for the New York Jets, and it might be time to wonder whether time is running out for Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas. Texting and email seem to have replaced the telephone as a primary means of communication. Still, the telephone is sometimes a better option. When it is – how can you make sure you get a call back or a response of some kind? Listen and I'll tell you. Source: Bill Jensen author of Simplicity Survival Handbook (https://amzn.to/3MMDmt7). Have you ever accomplished a goal and thought – “Hey if I can do that, what ELSE can I accomplish?” It seems success is rarely totally satisfying. Instead, it creates an itch for more success. That place in your brain where that happens is what my guest calls “Wonderhell.” And it turns out to be a fascinating place to explore. Listen as I speak about it with Laura Gassner Otting. She is frequently featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show and Harvard Business Review and she is author of the book Wonderhell: Why Success Doesn't Feel Like it Should and What to Do About It (https://amzn.to/40EycFi) There are actually people who believe that you are not responsible for your actions or decisions. In other words, that you have no free will. They believe everything is predetermined – that it is unfair to punish criminals, for example, because whatever they did wrong was not their choice. Then there is the other side of the argument. Joining me to explain why we do have free will – and to help try to understand why some people believe we do not is Kevin Mitchell, an associate professor of genetics and neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin and author of the book, Free Agents: How Evolution Gave Us Free Will (https://amzn.to/49vncy2) Here is the link for the episode featuring Robert Sapolsky arguing against free will: https://www.somethingyoushouldknow.net/566-do-we-really-have-free-will-how-to-handle-rejection-better/ You frequently hear people say the phrase, "That's a whole nother story." The New York Jets fell to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football, and the season now appears to be in crisis mode. The team has lost 2 of 3 games in what was supposed to be the easy stretch on the schedule. The loss also drops the Jets to 13th place in the AFC standings. Once again, the offense was the number one culprit. Nathaniel Hackett cannot escape the blame. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Today, we are going to be talking about a cozy fantasy which is Bookshop and Bonedusk by Travis Baldree. Now this is the prequel to a Legends and Latte a book that I have seen all over TikTok a year ago. Which now that I'm thinking about it maybe we should have read that one first. This book follows Viv who is injured while working as a mercenary and is left in the sleepy town of Mulk to recover. Viv worries that she is too far from the action and that she might never get back to it. But what she doesn't realize is that Mulk may have an adventure in store for her. This book contains a found family, a gnome with a chip on her shoulder, a summer fling, books, and a skeleton that will steal your heart. Gabriel Fairman, Founder and CEO of Bureau Works, joins SlatorPod to talk about the potential of generative AI in translation management. Gabriel shares the origin story of Bureau Works, where over the years his perspective shifted towards viewing translation as an information management challenge, leading Bureau Works to transition into a tech-enabled business.Gabriel discusses the challenges and opportunities presented by large language models, touching on issues of cost, workflow integration, and the potential for a more interactive and fluid translator-computer relationship.Gabriel rejects the idea of comparing language models like GPT to human translators, viewing them as aids to improve the human experience rather than alternatives.Gabriel Fairman explains the flexibility of Bureau Works' UI, which aims to optimize productivity and a sense of authorship, in contrast to the repetitive and frustrating nature of traditional machine translation post-editing.BWX is concentrating on simplification in 2024, introducing features like the learning terms tool, and aiming to integrate translation seamlessly into various tools and simplify project creation and management.
Being STUCK means you know you're in a bad place, but you don't have the power to do anything about it. Most people get stuck sometimes, but those who were abused or neglected in childhood have extra susceptibility to staying in bad jobs and harmful relationships. It may be driven by financial insecurity, health problems, shame, fear of being alone, low self-esteem, or the freeze response. Recycling, supporting local businesses, and buying eco-friendly products have been my way of feeling like I'm making a difference, saving the world one shopping trip at a time. But I had a revelation. In today's episode, I'll explore the common belief that shopping can be a form of activism, that it is positive to support or promote whatever values are important to us. Sex is ubiquitous in our culture, from the media we consume to the music we listen to. It's often portrayed as a performance, a source of pleasure and a standard we're expected to meet. But is this the reality for most women? Whitney's guest, Janna Denton-Howes, is a marriage coach and host of “Wanting It More” podcast. She is on a mission to empower women who are married to men not just to want to have sex, but also to enjoy it more. She is sharing what women actually need when it comes to having fulfilling sexual experiences. Their conversation includes how to talk to the younger generation of women about sex, what couples can do to deepen intimacy, what's “normal,” and so much more. Here's what to look forward to in today's episode The difference between sex in real life vs. on-screen sex Why feeling safe is vitally important to women's pleasure Why Janna hates the terms low libido and low sex drive Our sex lives don't have to be explosive to be good Janna defines pleasure as a sensation slightly more positive than neutral The world is focused on arousal but there's much more How we can talk to our younger generation of women about sex One question women could be asking themselves more: Why would I want sexual experiences to be part of my life for myself? What can it fulfill in my life? What can it bring to my life as an individual? Janna and I would love to know what you connected with from today's episode - has this shifted your thoughts on sex? Catcalling can be often thought of as playful and harmless, a classic case of boys will be boys. But the reality is anything but harmless. The interactions often leave predominantly women and girls feeling vulnerable and fearful that if they don't respond correctly they can be in danger. Today on The Sunday Story, artist, musician and podcast host Terra Lopez discusses her new podcast series This Is What It Feels Like from Cap Radio. The series puts its audience in the shoes of people dealing with overlooked issues.
This weekend, sit that body down. Sit it up straight close its eyes and know that that's Shiva sitting there. That's Hanuman. That's Krishna, Rama, Jesus, Buddha, sitting there. That's how sitting becomes easier-- when you tap into your highest level of consciousness, the One that's been sitting for lifetimes, that's been mediating for millions of years. Tap into that place inside, the One that knows what to do, that doesn't need to read, that doesn't need questions answers, because there's no questions in this silence, no words, no world. Just Love. One consciousness. That is the way in which the world could right itself. Start with your peace. Your love. Your compassion. And go from there. And then, love everything. Love everything." -Ram Dass "Other than what you are thinking and believing, are you okay? Notice." -Byron Katie "Eternal Awareness, you are the only Presence. Your sacred name is I Am. Your perfection is just a realization away. As consciousness unfolds, give now your Grace and forgive unawareness. Let the mind be an avenue of Awareness-- free of belief. For you are the only Presence, the only Power, and eternal timeless Perfection. And so it is." -Gil Michaels via FB "All your ambitions and achievements are connected with others. Either to show off, prove yourself or to provide. Just for a moment imagine there is no one to appreciate your achievements nor to support your ambition and you will find your self to be calm and free. " -Ravi Shankar "If meditation is anything, it is a deep and profound willingness to listen. That's what Silence is about. Don't try to be silent. That's trying to impose control. Instead, just listen. But listening is a humble thing. Listen. You know, because the mind wants to come in there and it wants to hear its own voice. So meditation is an embodied form of listening." -Adyashanti "Nothing can stop what God is about to do in your life." - @NeilVermillion "This feels like the way because it is." -@SourceMessages Support the show Beginning Aug 7, 2023 - 'GoOD Mornings with CurlyNikki' will host pre and post roll ads within the back catalogue.

When working to overcome pornography addiction or habit, it's easy for expectations to not be met.. This work is difficult, and if a wife has expectations of him sharing, growing, and improving, but his capacity is limited, there can be a breakdown in the marriage. She might feel like he's not really trying and that he doesn't care about her. He can feel like no matter what he does, it'll never be good enough. And when couples get caught in this type of spiral, it actually de-motivates and discourages action and progress. In this episode, I share with you a new way of looking at this so that both a husband and wife can feel progress at every phase of the journey, regardless of whether the expectations are met or not.
