Caleb and Josh recorded themself late at night, which was a great idea. Everything’s fine. The world is fine. I’m fine. This one’s for you, Rudy. You deserve it.

This week we watch both the original 1997 anime Ghost in the Shell, and it’s 2017 live action adaptation. That means that Josh had to watch around five hours total just so we could record a single episode. That feels like a win regardless of his reaction. We also go into the redaction corner to discuss what we got wrong last episode, and give our weekly opinions on this week’s Better Call Saul. Who are any of us, really? You tell us! CAST IN THE NAME OF GOD YE NOT GUILTY! This week we have on comedian and all around sweetie Jeff Anaya to talk about the 1999 Batman clone The Big O. It’s basically Batman with big robot fights, and only 90’s kids get it. Jeff tells us about how he got into anime, and Josh wonders what will get him out of it. 80’s Ghosts, Harvey Weinstein, sex with machines. This episode can officially get it. Big O! Action!

This week we watch three of our favorite shows of the 2020 winter season. and Josh stays awake for most of them. We have everything you could want! Artistic expression! Fast paced action! Psychological twists! All the while, Josh is mainly sleeping. But don’t sleep on this episode (kill me). Good ball.

This week we watched the 1997 classic Princess Mononoke, and it’s starting to look like Josh might not like anime. We also go in depth of the history of video game console peripherals, so we stayed right on track this time. If you listen until the end, Josh finally reveals the upcoming anime that he’s looking forward to. Join us with eyes unclouded.

This week we watched the 2018 film Mutafukaz. Dead beats, cockaroaches, Men in Black, Luchadors, and that’s just the first act. We also do a deep dive on the 1995 Fox science fiction show Sliders, and play a game of Japanese or French. This episode brought to you by the concept of depression.

How does one describe Good Ball. There is no question that Good Ball is the most tantamount quality man can seek, but who is chosen to lay the parameters both of good or ball. We watched Ace of Diamond because Josh likes Baseball, and we probably don’t regret it. We also play another game of Beastars or Straight Up Furry Porn, seeing as Mason is a Furry. Batter up, and good ball!

On this week’s episode, we delve into the 1998 psychological sci fi head fuck Serial Experiments Lain, which Caleb picked to show Mason and Josh. Did he nail it? You’ll have to listen to find out. The Boys also play another episode Horror Anime or Horror Core, and we look back on the history of anti piracy movements. Like and subscribe, smash that bell, and hit me on the ground.

Many of Anime’s main detractors have listed a single main issue that holds them back from enjoying the popular form of media. That issue is, of course, the lack of sexualization towards women, and the objectification therein. These critics have openly stated that they feel anime refuses to meet their needs for scantily clad female characters put in positions where the main character (and therefore the viewer) spend every ounce of screen time trying to grope them and/or fetishise their toilets. These detracters are of course insane, but if they weren’t, Golden Boy would be the show for them. We watched it, and boy we shouldn’t have. We also play a game of Golden Boy or Golden Showers, and speaking of showers, we need to take one (a normal one). Let’s go!

We’re back for another week of anime iffiness after once again no delay whatsoever. It’s honesty sort of eerie how regularly this podcast comes out at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone couldn’t catch up with all the episodes, seeing as to how prolific and consistent we are. This week, we watched the 2003 classic Trigun. All of us had a great time, and nobody cried. We also played the game Gungrave or Warp Tour 2003. Open a deluxe box of donuts, and join us in the desert.

This week we watch the 2019 series Carole & Tuesday. It’s about music and young girls, but Josh mysteriously still thinks it’s fine. Or does he? I’m not giving it away, my dear child. Come join us, or else.

Hey, do you like murder? This week we watch Inuyashiki, a show about a robot grandpa and his friend, a dog. Miraculously, Josh actually likes this one, which may point to some deep physiological issues once you know the plot of the anime. It’s Trump’s America, we’re just living in it. This is the bravest podcast ever recorded, so prepare yourself and hit me on the ground.

We’re back with another episode of Animaybe After Dark, but this time with a twist. Josh was so mad after the last episode, that he decided that he would pick the next movie himself. He picked Batman Ninja, and who’s to say if he made the right choice. Cars turning into planes, planes turning into bikes, bikes turning into armor, and monkeys turning into a larger monkey that fights a mech made out of buildings. This is quite possibly the weirdest one yet, and we did one with forehead boners. Strap in, folks.

The boys watch a movie that makes Josh Angry, then later sad. He hates it so much that he can’t drop the subject for one second, and Caleb apparently took notes for no God Damn reason, because Josh had to barrel on and on about how much he hated the movie. There are new segments, and much drinking in this first episode of Animaybe: After Dark. Grab a drink, and have a night with us.

This week’s podcast goes perfectly to plan, and we have a perfect recording to prove it. We watched Paprika, and Josh thinks it should take a step back and think about what it has done. We have chair men, thicc bois, butterflies, dreams, thoughts, haunts, chubby chasers, robots, dolls, and much much more!

This week we take on Devilman Crybaby this week, to see if Josh is cool with massive gore and sexual deviance. Maybe he is? You tell me. We also discuss the new Cats trailer, couture pornography, and Dr. Scientist.

The (anime) boys try to convince Josh to like FLCL .He doesn’t, and is not wrong, but maybe not completely right. Who know in this topsy turvy world we live in. We also play anime v erotica (maybe for the last time) and ask if Caleb should be embarrassed by a song (and tattoo), but Mason came late so nothing actually matters.

This week we watch the 2001 Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away, and Josh actually likes it (sort of). Spirits, gods, radishes, and frogs. All of them somewhat confuse Josh as he dives face first into a stench god to get that sweet, sweet gold. Later, Mason and Josh play a game of Anime or Erotia, and we learn if Caleb should feel bad for having a tattoo. Should you steal bikes? Find that out, and much, much more.

Caleb and Mason force Josh to watch Samurai Champloo, and he likes it better than Megalo Box (but only slightly). They then test him on his knowledge of the show, and Josh tell’s Caleb if he should be embarrassed for liking a song. At one point they all talk about the primary elections, and everyone quickly shifts into jokes, because the truth is depressing. Let’s go, I guess!

In the first episode of Animaybe, Caleb & Mason show Josh Megalo Box, hoping it will make him like anime. It doesn’t work. They also discuss the movie Glass, obstetricians, and many other completely anime related subjects.
