While the left works hard to find any little thing that looks bad for ICE or our current enforcement of immigration, the man in charge turns out to be a real human with a real heart. Wait until you hear the story Tom Homan told at a conference about the victims of our open borders. According to a report by the Topeka Cap Journal, democrats approved all kinds of voter packets to be sent to Kansans that never requested them. This is a huge scam. We have the information you need to disable that start/stop button on your car. Ron DeSantis hammers NYC over the Mayor's new budget as it's bigger than the entire state of Florida budget. In sports, no Jerome Tang spells success for KSU as they get a win. The Royals take batting practice with the new ball/strike computer system on at Surprise Stadium. It happened on a day the leader of the player's union resigned in a sex scandal. And a self proclaimed "woke bit__" skating for team USA had a little too much Trump hate in her heart and flamed out on the ice and then embarrassed us all as a total baby balling her eyes out. Ughh. Tiger Woods is in the news and our Final Final is a beautiful message about Jesse Jackson.

There are no moral victories. Ever. That said, Kentucky didn't get blown out at Florida. They could have, because they were on the verge. Turnovers in the first half were their undoing, as they led to lots of Florida points. Their bigs do what they do, but letting their guards go off too was just too much to overcome. Georgia is limping into Lexington. The Cats need to be aggressive and take their will right off the bat. Go Cats! #BBN Check out our Linktree! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this episode of the Cat Café Podcast, Dr. Katie Tolbert discusses feeding tubes in cats—devices that may look intimidating at first glance but are truly lifesaving tools for patients that refuse to eat. She explains why nutritional support is critical in feline medicine, how feeding tubes help prevent complications like hepatic lipidosis, and why early placement can dramatically improve outcomes. What seems scary to owners is, in reality, one of the most effective and compassionate interventions we have for cats that simply won't eat.

Today I'm joined by Margaret Tompkins, and we're tackling one of the most persistent myths in the cat world: the idea that cats who are FIV or FeLV positive can't safely live with cats who are not. This belief has caused a lot of unnecessary fear, heartbreak, and even rehoming decisions (or worse) over the years. In this episode, Margaret and I break down what's actually true, what's outdated, and how informed, responsible cat guardians can make thoughtful decisions based on science, not stigma. I currently have an FIV cat in my rescue, Larry. He gets along very well with my non FIV rescue cats and he is a sweet love bug. Don't pass up adopting an otherwise perfectly wonderful cat out of fear; listen to what Margaret has to say so you can feel better about introducing an FIV or FeLV cat into your clowder.EPISODE NOTES: FIV and FeLV Cats Need Love Too! On this special National Cat Health Month episode of Cattitude, host Michelle Fern does something she doesn't usually do — talk about a product. But this one is worth it. Michelle welcomes Jennifer Cookson, Director of R&D Innovation at PrettyLitter, to discuss an innovative “smart” litter designed to help cat parents monitor their cat's health at home. Cats are famously stoic and often hide signs of illness until it becomes serious. Jennifer explains how PrettyLitter's color-changing crystals respond to shifts in urine pH and the presence of blood, helping pet parents track patterns over time and have more informed conversations with their veterinarians. The episode dives into the science behind amorphous silica (and why it's safe), dust control, multi-cat households, odor performance, and why early detection matters more than many cat parents realize. It's not about replacing your vet — it's about empowering cat parents with better insight and peace of mind. Plus: use promo code PETLIFE for 20% off your first order of PrettyLitter! Hey, it's Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul and I'm pleased to share new stories with you from Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from My Cat, which is our latest best-selling book of cat stories. We spent two years collecting stories for this book so there is a huge variety of topics in it, but I have to say that one of my favorite subthemes in any cat book we publish is what I like to call Time-Share Cats. Somehow these clever little furry pets, if you can call them pets – maybe we are THEIR pets, right? – well anyway these beautiful creatures often figure out how to live with more than one family at the same time, with no one the wiser. Tomorrow is Caturday at a south Auckland animal shelter, where a bumper crop of kittens are in desperate need of forever homes. The SPCA has more than 30 kittens available for adoption at its Mangere Centre, where it says the 40 year old building is crumbling and part of the cattery floods when it rains. The organisation has seen a surge in cats needing to be adopted across the country, and it hopes its Caturday events will see people heading home with a new family member in tow. Amy Williams reports.

A supervisor leads a team of very needy CAT adjusters! Over the course of the year, the supervisor fields many questions as it comes up in their claims. Was there hail on X date? Was there lightning in the area? This hurricane is coming soon, where can I get news about it? Winter weather caused a slip and fall!! Where can I find information on wildfire perimeters and California evacuations? For help herding all these cats, we'll head to PLRB.org. Notable Timestamps [ 00:00 ] - The episode introduces a scenario where a supervisor fields constant weather-related questions from cat adjusters, highlighting the need for a centralized, reliable source for hail, lightning, hurricanes, wildfires, and more. [ 02:15 ] - The team previews multiple scenarios—winter storms, hail, lightning, power outages, tornadoes, hurricanes, and wildfires—showing the breadth of searchable weather data available to support claim investigations. [ 03:16 ] - Using a winter slip-and-fall in Iowa City, Iowa, the report pulls verified storm data from the National Weather Service, including freezing rain reports and hourly observations to validate conditions on the date of loss. [ 07:42 ] - For hail damage in Illinois, radar-derived data and verified hail reports allow adjusters to map proximity, estimated hail size, and associated severe thunderstorm warnings tied to a specific date and address. [ 09:53 ] - Lightning reports provide daily probability percentages and satellite detection data, helping assess commercial equipment claims while noting limits in resolution and cloud-to-cloud versus cloud-to-ground distinctions. [ 12:25 ] - Power outage searches archive data every ten minutes via PowerOutage.us, identifying outage timing, affected customers, and likely storm causes—critical for business interruption investigations. [ 14:09 ] - A tornado case study of the Mayfield event demonstrates wind reports, damage points, and EF-scale path polygons, enabling precise analysis of storm track and intensity relative to a property. [ 17:31 ] - Wildfire tools include historical perimeters like the Garnett Fire, evacuation zones, thermal hotspots, smoke analysis from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data, and hurricane spaghetti models—underscoring a single portal for comprehensive weather intelligence. Join EEG legend Jay Gunkelman (500,000+ brain scans read) and host Pete Jansons for a thorough exploration of Sensorimotor Rhythm (SMR) — the calming, stabilizing brainwave discovered by Barry Sterman. From cats trained on SMR that resisted toxic rocket fuel seizures (NASA origins) to modern uses in ADHD, epilepsy, insomnia, fibromyalgia, and arousal regulation — this episode breaks down the science, circuits, and clinical realities.✅ Key Topics Covered:Barry Sterman's breakthrough: SMR-trained cats survived rocket fuel doses that caused vomiting, panting, salivating, and seizures in controls (ruined the dose-response curve)Brain circuitry: Thalamus (ventroposterior lateral nucleus) + reticular nucleus (acetylcholine bursts) → sensory-motor cortex feedback → red nucleus quieting → muscle spindle relaxationSMR as daytime "sleep spindle": Stabilizes red nucleus (Parkinsonism target), cuts sympathetic drive, deeper muscle relaxation, reduces sensory feedback to thalamusBenefits: Epilepsy stabilization, fibromyalgia (quiets sympathetic input to red nucleus), ADHD clusters (excess theta/alpha, beta compensation), arousal-performance curve centeringRisks: Overtraining SMR drops arousal too far → underarousal/grogginess/rebound giddiness (like kids pre-bedtime); counter with anterior beta (17Hz functional beta on tasks)Arousal-performance: SMR = brakes (calms overarousal); beta = accelerator (fixes underarousal); no fixed sessions (10 for mild insomnia, 24+ for severe)ADHD insights: Frontal suppressor strip → caudate/putamen/globus pallidus/thalamus loop (excess GABA inhibition); beta magnitude increases (more events, not amplitude)

Rima Jalba shares the good of the Cinnamon Trust, the UK national charity for older people, the terminally ill and their pets. The mission is as simple as it is clear: they provide hands-on assistance to pet owners across the country when any aspect of the day-to-day care of their pets poses a problem; as well as the provision of lifelong care for pets who outlive their owners. A life-long animal lover herself, Rima shares everything from her first pet as a child to how she made a life change, choosing to work for connection rather than just a paycheck. And that's exactly what brought her to the Cinnamon Trust's (doggie) door. The hilarious actor Vella Lovell is a put-upon director of an animal control precinct in the sitcom Animal Control, a role that involves much more animal contact than one would expect for an office job. Turns out Vella, who also played the neighbor Heather on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, has a natural knack for helping animals calm down. This was evident in her long process of introducing a new kitten, XX, to her household, which already included a veteran resident cat, YY.
