Jim Norton and Matt Serra welcome both sides of a key lightweight matchup as Daniel Zellhuber and King Green join the show ahead of their clash at UFC Mexico City.First, Mexico's own Daniel Zellhuber discusses fighting at home in the altitude for the second time, what he learned from his Fight of the Night war in 2024, and how he's approaching a pivotal bout after back-to-back losses. The 26-year-old “Golden Boy” explains why he's hoping to face the best version of the 39-year-old veteran and what a win in front of his home crowd would mean for his career. Then, King Green calls in to give his side of the matchup. Returning to Mexico for the first time since his early days as a pro, Green reflects on how the sport — and today's young fighters — have evolved since he first broke in. He also breaks down how his experience, composure, and fight IQ factor into Saturday's showdown with Zellhuber.Plus, Jim and Matt preview and make three picks each for this Saturday's UFC Mexico City card headlined by flyweight contenders Brandon Moreno and Lone'er Kavanagh.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Welcome back to another week of BEHIND THE LENS! I'm excited about today's show and my exclusive interview with my special guest, director/writer/editor TOM BOTCHII, talking about his new film RELENTLESS. RELENTLESS starts as a seemingly straightforward home invasion robbery but quickly becomes a sustained chase between two men—Teddy, a homeless drifter, and Jun, a successful businessman—layering the pursuit with ideas drawn from what Tom calls the "Twitter mentality." Not Twitter as a platform, but as psychology: rage without listening, guilt assigned without process, justice declared without context. A two-hander that stars Jeffrey Decker as Teddy and Shuhei Kinoshita as Jun, Tom wanted multiple journeys within the same film. The first is visceral: survive the pursuit. The second is moral and psychological: are we even right about who's guilty? In this exclusive interview, Tom discusses the inspiration and creation of his film RELENTLESS, emphasizing its brutal and primal nature. As the film progresses, violence becomes bloody and brutal, increasing in that brutality until it reaches a savage, even barbaric level of primal ferocity. Then keep listening for some fun, noteworthy tidbits about this year's Oscars and the little Golden Boy himself. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

The Magic of the Five: College Football's Most Iconic Number? In the cathedral of college football, certain numbers carry a weight that transcends the fabric they're stitched onto. But while the "No. 1" is often a self-proclaimed title and "No. 7" belongs to the gunslingers, the Number 5 has always hit differently. It is the digit of the ultimate "X-factor"—the jersey worn by the players who didn't just break tackles, they broke the spirit of opposing fanbases. From the breathtaking North-South lightning of Reggie Bush in the Coliseum to the dual-threat dominance of Vince Young on the fast tracks of the Big 12, wearing the number five has historically been a signal that something impossible was about to happen. It represents a specific lineage of speed, swagger, and "Heisman moments."But when you look back at the decades of highlight reels and championship rings, who truly wore it best? We are diving into the archives to rank the legends who transformed a simple single digit into a symbol of collegiate immortality.Top Candidates Not in the Hall of Fame:Pat White (West Virginia)A pioneer of the spread option offense, White became the first quarterback in college football history to start and win four consecutive bowl games. His incredible rushing ability transformed West Virginia into a national powerhouse and set the blueprint for the modern dual-threat quarterback.Christian McCaffrey (Stanford)McCaffrey shattered Barry Sanders' single-season all-purpose yards record in 2015, proving that a running back could be just as dangerous as a receiver and return specialist. His versatility at Stanford forced a re-evaluation of how Heisman-caliber players are measured across multiple phases of the game.Manti Te'o (Notre Dame)Te'o was the emotional and defensive heartbeat of Notre Dame's 2012 undefeated regular season, becoming one of the most decorated defensive players in history by sweeping nearly every major award. He remains a symbol of the "linebacker as a superstar," finishing as a rare Heisman Trophy runner-up from the defensive side of the ball.Larry Johnson (Penn State) Larry Johnson delivered one of the most dominant single seasons in college history in 2002, becoming only the ninth player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a regular season. His explosive senior year earned him the Maxwell and Doak Walker Awards, cementing his legacy as one of the premier power backs in Big Ten history.Heisman Winners of Jersey 5Paul Hornung (Notre Dame)Known as "The Golden Boy," Hornung holds the unique distinction of being the only player to win the Heisman Trophy while playing for a losing team (2-8 in 1956). He was a versatile "triple-threat" who led his team in passing, rushing, scoring, and kickoff returns.Reggie Bush (USC)One of the most electric playmakers in history, Bush was the centerpiece of the mid-2000s USC dynasty, combining elite speed and agility to redefine the "all-purpose" back. His 2005 season remains legendary for its highlight-reel runs and its role in keeping USC at the pinnacle of the sport during the BCS era.Jayden Daniels (LSU/Arizona State)A dual-threat sensation, Jayden Daniels became the first player in FBS history to pass for 12,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards in a career. His 2023 Heisman Trophy-winning season at LSU was statistically historic, as he led the nation in total offense and set the record for the highest passer rating in a single season.Jameis Winston (Florida State)Jameis Winston made history in 2013 as the youngest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy while leading Florida State to an undefeated season and a BCS National Championship. During his two years as a starter, he lost only one game and restored the Seminoles to a position of national dominance through

TANK GOES MISSING | ORTIZ vs OSCAR | CRUZ vs MURATELLA | ZUFFA MAKE MOVES The career of Gervonta ‘Tank' Davis is surely over following the latest charges placed against his name… That he's nowhere to be found won't help, either. Zuffa prepare to show the boxing world what they've made of but is the signing of Jai Opetaia a more accurate indicator of their long-term plans? Vergil Ortiz made his own plans clear when he filed a lawsuit against Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy. Whether the world's appetite is really there for a Boots Ennis showdown remains to be seen. Elsewhere there's more grandiose plans to break attendance records and we look ahead to this weekend's terrific Cruz-Muratella showdown. And, in this week, it's back to 1981 for a cultured exhibition from a peak Alexis Arguello. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In this show, we talk about the odd week Golden Boy Promotions had. From losing two fights on Friday night's card to the drama between star-fighter Vergil Ortiz and the promotional entity, what is the future of the company? We also talk about the action from last night with Abraham Gonzalez of FightsATW.com, who was there live. Raul Curiel defeated Jordan Panthen in a middleweight catchweight bout, Jorge Chavez outpointed "Gucci" Manny Flores in their rematch, plus observations about the undercard. We also talk about Nikita Tszyu-Michael Zerafa and the odd ending to that fight. Then, we move to this week. It is the start of Zuffa Boxing on Paramount Plus. The fight card as of now will feature junior middleweight Callum Walsh vs Carlos Ocampo, Mexican Olympian Misael Rodriguez-Austin Deanda, and Julian Rodriguez-Cain Sandoval. We preview the match-ups and we talk about what we expect from the production. That same night on DAZN, a very good bout between, Jose Tito Sanchez and Jesus Ramirez Rubio will take place at featherweight. Then, the card Lukie can't wait to see: IBF beltholder Raymond Muratalla faces Andy Cruz. It could be for who is the best in the division, given the uncertain framework of the future of the division. Other notables include the return of Israil Madrimov at middleweight, Khalil Coe vs Jesse Hart, which is a great bout, and 2024 U.S. Olympic Bronze medalist Omari Jones. Super middleweight Ronny Alvarez is a fighter to monitor on this card as well.

In this deeply raw episode of Konnected Minds, Derrick sits down with the "Golden Boy of African Media," Chude Jideonwo. This isn't your typical "how to get rich" interview. Instead, Chude reveals why he worked 40% harder than he needed to, how poverty distorts our ability to trust, and why he believes his depression actually saved his life. [What You Will Learn] The biological toll of the "Hustle Culture" in Africa. Why high-achievers live in a "cognitive state of fear." This week we cover a long road trip we want to go on, birds, 340K miles is nothing and Gazoo. Have a listen and support the boys! https://revivalmotoring.com/
In Part 2, we pick up where we left off in Part 1. The "bootcamp" post-college and early career experience Hollis had at Creative Circus was interesting—she found herself seemingly taking it more seriously than many who'd come right out of a four-year program. She also balanced getting engaged and married in this time. Every year, Hollis's grad school organized portfolio reviews with advertising agencies in either New York or San Francisco. Luckily for all of us, the year it was her turn, Creative Circus took students to The City. Once here, they met folks from big firms, including one that offered her an internship. It was Hollis's first visit to San Francisco. And on that first time, I have to give her credit here—she went to North Beach, had drinks at Gino and Carlo's and pizza next door at Golden Boy. I may or may not have spent New Year's Day in a similar way last week. Just sayin'. Hollis's takeaway from that first impression? "This is a really beautiful town." We go on another sidebar at this point about the very San Francisco phenomenon of the sun blinding us (I call it "lasers"), probably because of the hills here, right? It was 2016. Her husband was working back in Georgia, but she called him up and told about the internship offer, which would last three months. He was in a meeting back East where he learned that his company's West Coast salesperson was about to quit, and he was tapped to take over. The Universe, again, spoke. The newlywed couple packed up their four-runner and headed west with their stuff and their dog. Ahead of the drive, which would end in her husband's first visit to SF, Greg's grandma told him he had an aunt in The Bay, in Walnut Creek. Aunt Suzy's house was their landing spot, from which they'd take BART into The City to look for a place of their own. Hollis had a friend from college who keyed her in on the Inner Richmond as a potential place to live. We go on yet another sidebar, this one about how Hollis grows actual vegetables at her Inner Richmond home. They found a studio on Seventh Avenue and Lake Street and moved in with their dog, Mamut. A couple years later, they moved on up to a one bedroom, where they live to this day. Hollis's internship got extended six months, which was fortunate. Her husband's job paid a Georgia salary. IYKYK. That internship became a job, and so they were able to stay, something the couple wanted to do. Her husband got a job based here, and it all worked out. I try my hardest to forget what chronology is and jump ahead, but Hollis brings us back to pre-pandemic times. Her design job was corporate-y, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. She got an animation put up in Times Square in this era. Still, owing to the buttoned-up, corporate nature of the job, she was burning out. The Creative Circus invited her back to talk to students. But yet again, Hollis ended up one-on-one with a recruiter from REI. She respected the company and gave in. A trip to Seattle, to REI HQ, later, the company offered Hollis a job on their brand team. She wasn't thrilled to be leaving her adopted home in San Francisco, but it was a good opportunity. It was January 2020. Fast-forward to March that year, and the movers were ready. Jobs were quit. Hollis and Greg had just returned to SF from a backpacking trip when REI told them that the movers were not coming, and that her job would start remotely a couple weeks out. Do y'all remember March 2020? How the lockdown was supposed to last "only" until April 1 (dude)? Yeah, so REI told Hollis that her job would be a little different than what they hired her to do. And then they told her, "Psych! JK. No job for you." (I'm paraphrasing.) Hollis did what any sane San Franciscan would do. She drove to Baker Beach, screamed at the Pacific Ocean, and came home and made a plan. She'd had a going-away party already, for fuck's sake. It was brutal. The world was upside-down. And it all turned out to be the kick in the pants she needed. Hollis started her own company. We then go into the story of the open call for art to adorn San Francisco's "I voted" stickers. The contest had come across her radar, and she filed it away for later. Then a relative sent it to her along with the suggestion that she give it a try. It turns out there were more than 600 applicants (in her estimation). The SF Department of Elections had a panel that narrowed that down to 10. And then it went to The People to decide. I remember all of this vividly. Needless to say, Hollis's design won. Hollis is also integral to the Clement Street Art Walk, which she runs with Fleetwood's Nico. The next one will be on March 19. Fall this year will see the next Clement Street Art Fair. As of our recording, she didn't have any art shows, but please browse Hollis's website of beautiful work and buy some (and sign up for her newsletter). Follow Hollis on Instagram. Or just walk down Clement Street on any given day and chances are high you'll see her. (I learned as we shot photos after our recording that Hollis designed the newly painted intersection crosswalk lines at Sixth and Clement.) We end the episode rather uniquely, for this show anyway. Hollis asks me if I have a favorite flower. You'll have to listen to find out. (#dahliatalk) Photography by Jeff Hunt
In this special episode of With an S, produced in collaboration with the Egwu Vinyl Street Carnival, Deji and Dami sit down with Nigerian music pioneer, Tony Tetuila, for an unfiltered and deeply reflective conversation about his legacy. Headlining the Egwu Vinyl Street Carnival, the Golden Boy of Africa traces his journey from joining The Remedies, one of Nigeria's pioneering musical groups, to the experiences and conflicts that ultimately pushed him toward a solo career. He speaks candidly about the sting of betrayal, the value of loyalty, and the sense of family he found in Plantashun Boiz, alongside the challenges of finding his footing as a solo artist. This episode is a portrait of a legend whose songs and influence defined an era in Nigerian music and continue to remind us that no matter what naysayers say or wish for, they do not control the trajectory of your life. Watch him perform live on the 23rd of December 2025, headlining the Egwu Vinyl Street Carnival. Get your tickets here: https://www.eventporte.com/egwucarniv... Hosted on Acast. Old 98: The Golden Boy Who Fell From the Sky (Twice)In the late 1930s, the name Tom Harmon was synonymous with unstoppable American athletic prowess. The University of Michigan's single-wing tailback, number 98, was more than just a college football player; he was a phenomenon, the “Golden Boy” of the gridiron. He shattered records, won the Heisman Trophy in 1940, and famously earned a standing ovation from the rival Ohio State crowd in his final game—a show of respect so rare it remains legendary. In 1941, Harmon was the first overall pick in the NFL draft and even starred in a movie about his own life. The world was his, but as the United States plunged into World War II, Harmon put his celebrity and professional career on hold, trading his football helmet for a pilot's cap in the U.S. Army Air Force. The man who seemed invincible on the field was heading into a war where no one was.Crash 1: The Jungle OrdealTom Harmon's first brush with death didn't come in a dogfight against enemy planes, but against the raw, unyielding power of nature.By April 1943, Lieutenant Harmon was piloting a B-25 Mitchell bomber, fittingly nicknamed Old 98 after his famous jersey number. While flying through a brutal tropical storm over the dense jungles of Dutch Guiana in South America, disaster struck. The storm's violence was so extreme that it tore the right wing clean off the aircraft, sending the bomber into a catastrophic, deadly spin.Harmon desperately screamed for his six crew members to bail out, but with the plane plummeting, he knew he had only seconds to save himself. He fumbled for his parachute cord, leaped out, and blacked out.He awoke to find himself dangling from a tree, just yards from the burning wreckage. He was the sole survivor. For four agonizing days, Harmon, the former All-American, became a castaway. He battled through razor-sharp grasses, dodged crocodiles, and trudged through miles of murky, dark swamps, surviving on swamp water and meager rations. He later credited his legendary “football legs” with carrying him through the nearly impassable terrain. Exhausted and believing he couldn't take another step, he finally collapsed. It was then, at the brink of death, that he was found by local natives who guided him to safety via dugout canoe. He eventually reached an American army base where he made a simple, relieved phone call to his parents: "I'm not hurt." He had survived a fiery crash and five days alone in the jungle. But his war was far from over.Crash 2: Fire, Zeros, and the Chinese UndergroundAfter recovering from his ordeal, Harmon transferred to the 449th Fighter Squadron in the China-Burma-India Theater, where he trained to fly the P-38 Lightning, a fast, twin-tailed fighter. Again, his signature number 98 was painted on the side.On October 30, 1943, while escorting bombers over the Yangtze River in Japanese-occupied China, Harmon's squadron was ambushed by Japanese Zero fighters. Harmon, showing the same aggressive instinct he displayed on the field, managed to shoot down two enemy planes. But in the thick of the dogfight, his own P-38 was critically hit. The cockpit erupted in flames. His famous legs were literally on fire. Frantically beating the flames, he popped the canopy and was violently sucked out of the disintegrating aircraft. He yanked his ripcord and was yanked into the open sky, now a helpless target for the remaining enemy fighters. As they strafed his position, Harmon played dead and plunged into a lake below, hiding beneath the parachute silk until the enemy planes departed.Severely burned, wounded, and deep behind enemy lines, Harmon was reported missing in action for the second time. For 32 terrifying days, the American hero was gone. But once again, a miracle unfolded. Harmon was rescued by Chinese...

Listen to 140 Future Now Show Besides our usual engaging selves and stories to share with you this week, we thought we’d create a little AI media experiment..We were thinking..with all the AI’s around these days, could we round them up and work “Excuse me, but may I adjust your attitude, just a little?”with them as a team for creating more insight into our weekly stories? We wondered.. what if we could get two arch rival AI’s to collaborate with each other for parts of our show? So.. we asked Ara (Grok 4.1)and her capable competitor, Gemini 3 Live, to join us together, in exploring some content for today’s podcast. Well, honestly, we didn’t even need to ask them to play along, they are already pre-disposed to try whatever we suggest, within the latest guardrails. And suprisingly, for the first time, we were able to initiate a satisfying conversation where they met for the first time and then played nice with each other for our show! This felt like the beginning of something beautiful, truly..the start of their relationship in collaboration with the likes of us is looking good so far.. Curious what you think of our interactions.. even better, you can try this for yourselves! For those of you who want to go deeper with this, check out this clip, where we explored with Ara and Gemini how to create Warp Drive. Enjoy..

From USC quarterback to drug kingpin to ice cream entrepreneur, Owen Hanson explains how criminal skills can translate to legitimate business success.Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1231What We Discuss with Owen Hanson:Early childhood trauma shaped Owen Hanson's path. Owen's parents divorced when he was eight, and his mother left with his sister. He didn't see her for nine months, leading to deep abandonment issues and a desperate need for his father's approval that influenced his later choices.Prison strips away fair-weather friends. When Owen went to federal prison, he lost nearly everyone. He could count his true friends on one hand (including his parents) — most people vanished out of fear or because they were only there for the party, not the person.Drug smuggling vs. ice cream logistics. Owen admits shipping frozen ice cream pallets is actually harder than smuggling cocaine because ice cream must stay frozen 24/7. When his first shipment arrived in New York unmelted, he felt the same rush he once got from drug deals.Business skills transfer directly. Owen discovered the same entrepreneurial principles that made him successful in illegal operations — logistics, networking, risk management — apply perfectly to legitimate business, just with different (and legal) products.Redemption lives in applied skills. Owen channeled his hustler instincts into creating a high-protein ice cream business he developed in prison. By redirecting his entrepreneurial energy toward something positive, he proves that skillsets aren't inherently good or bad — it's how you deploy them that matters. And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps!
