    In the 1970s moving to the early 1980's Richard was contracted by Teal/Galo Music for recording and mixing top-line South African artists, such as Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse, for major local and international record labels. Richard was also a part of the RPM/Downtown Studios management structure. In the late '80s Richard founded his own sound engineering company called RM Recordings whereby he was mixing and mastering a multitude of local and international recording artists and was also featured on big film soundtracks both local and international releases such as the original soundtrack of The Lion King and The Long Walk To Freedom as well the music used to launch the Dubai musical fountains. RM recordings was contracted to provide skills and training in the operation of the largest recording studio complex in the southern hemisphere BOP studios, recordings included many symphonic orchestra recordings for various feature film scores.
