On Ron's Amazing Stories this week, things get a little strange. Okay... maybe more than a little. We're bringing back an old RAS favorite, As Read By, with listener Franklin Paul taking us straight into the pages of a 1950s science-fiction pulp magazine. Then, on The RAS Signal, we turn our attention to one of the greatest voices of old-time radio — Agnes Moorehead. And since we're talking about Moorehead, why not hear her in action? We'll finish with a classic episode of Suspense where a simple chain letter sets off a very unfortunate… chain of events. In This Episode As Read By Returns — An old RAS segment is back, featuring stories straight from the pulp magazines. The RAS Signal: Agnes Moorehead — We look at the life and remarkable radio career of the woman behind one of old-time radio's most unforgettable voices. Martian V.F.W. — Listener Franklin Paul reads a wonderfully strange science-fiction tale from 1959. The Chain — Agnes Moorehead and William Conrad star in a psychological thriller from the series Suspense. Featured Stories Martian V.F.W. From the May 1959 issue of Amazing Science Fiction Stories, written by G. L. Vandenburg and read by listener Franklin Paul. A parade celebrating the International Geophysical Year already has floats, bands, rockets, and displays of life on other planets. Then the parade manager is approached by a six-foot-tall ant claiming to represent the Martian V.F.W. Who are these strange visitors... and what do they really want? The Chain Suspense — Originally broadcast March 9, 1958. Agnes Moorehead stars as a vindictive woman whose decision to send a superstitious chain letter to an immigrant neighbor's wife begins a sequence of events that quickly spirals beyond her control. William Conrad also appears as Lieutenant Marsh. It's superstition, fear, and unintended consequences in a story that proves sometimes it's better to just throw the darn letter away. Revenue management is getting faster, smarter, and more accessible—but building the next generation of pricing technology comes with a surprising challenge: how do you get operators to trust the numbers? In this episode of The STR Data Lab, Chief Economist Jamie Lane sits down with AirDNA's Data Science Manager Marc Moreno and Senior Product Manager Jordon Myers to go behind the scenes of building AirDNA's new revenue management platform, Adapt. The conversation explores what AirDNA learned from hundreds of conversations with STR operators, including the surprising number of hosts still managing pricing manually and the widespread frustration with opaque pricing recommendations. Marc and Jordon explain why explainability became a core design principle, how millions of listings and noisy data shaped the modeling process, and why some of the most promising AI approaches had to be reconsidered. They also unpack how AI has fundamentally changed the product development process—from months-long handoffs to rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration with real users.Looking ahead, the team discusses where revenue management is headed as AI agents, APIs, and new data interfaces become more common. The future may not be about forcing operators into another dashboard—it could be about making reliable revenue management data and recommendations accessible wherever operators already work. You don't want to miss this behind-the-scenes look at how the future of STR revenue management is being built.Key TakeawaysTrust is just as important as accuracy. A pricing recommendation is only valuable if operators understand where it came from and feel confident acting on it.Clean data is the foundation of good pricing. With millions of listings across multiple channels, filtering noise and engineering the right signals can be just as important as the model itself.Events require proactive pricing. Rather than waiting for demand to appear in the data, revenue management systems need to identify external signals early enough to adjust pricing before bookings happen.AI is changing how products are built. Rapid prototyping and AI-assisted development allow teams to test ideas with real data and users much faster than traditional product-development cycles. The future may extend beyond the UI. As operators increasingly use AI agents, APIs, and their own internal tools, revenue management data needs to be accessible wherever decisions are being made.Sign up for AirDNA for FREE

What if love, resonance, and political courage were not separate conversations, but facets of the same underlying reality? In this new episode of The Rose Woman Podcast, Christine welcomes back philosopher, environmental lawyer, and homesteader Tamlyn (Tam) M. Hunt to explore how consciousness, AI, renewable energy, and tropical panpsychism all meet in a single resonance-based view of the world. From Hawaii's ʻāina to the AI tsunami, from back-to-the-land experiments to a “resonance model of politics,” they trace how a deeper understanding of consciousness might change the way we do policy, leadership, and love itself.Tamlyn M. Hunt applies a unique blend of expertise in different but related fields to lead discussions on big picture trends. Tamlyn's decades of work as an environmental lawyer focused on renewable energy law and policy have given him tools to frame the necessary conversations on how we can make wise changes.Coupled with his academic work in philosophy, spirituality, and cognitive science, Tamlyn explores how we can use a deeper understanding of consciousness to relate to ourselves and our world in a more beneficial way.Through his work as a writer, scholar, and speaker, Tamlyn seeks to bridge connections across the gap between science and spirit. He is co-developer of the General Resonance Theory of consciousness, with Prof. Jonathan Schooler, and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles fleshing out the details of this rigorous approach to the study of consciousness.Tamlyn is also a novelist, working on his second novel, Leilani, set on the Big Island of Hawaii where he has lived since 2016.Listen in as Christine and Tam follow the thread from “it's all vibrations, man” to the AI reckoning, resilience politics, and ontological loveand invite you to feel how “the many become one and are increased by one” in your own life.(00:00:00): Introduction and Chapter Five of The Hippies Were Right (00:04:59): Overview Of General Resonance Theory and How “Everything Vibrates” Becomes A Theory Of Consciousness(00:08:39): Tam's Run For Hawaii State House and The Authenticity Tension In Modern Politics(00:13:06): Tam Explores Identity and Cultural Dynamics In Hawaii Politics (00:14:31): Tropical Panpsychism(00:16:02): Tam Examines The Inherent Salesmanship And Authenticity Tension In Politics (00:19:12): Framing The “Resilience Candidate” and The Polycrisis Of AI, Climate, And Governance(00:21:53): Tam Connects Social Movements, Virality, and Resonance In Politics (00:25:02): Origin Of The Hippies Were Right as a Memoir Plus Consciousness Philosophy(00:27:05): General Resonance Theory and The Changing Academic View Of Consciousness (00:31:13): Core Claims Of GRT: Universal Vibration, Tiny Units Of Awareness, and “The Many Become One”(00:35:49): Love As Ontological Reality and Entheogenic Experience(00:38:48): Indigenous Knowing and Green Ethics Of Reverence (00:42:35): Love For ʻĀina, Climate Law, And The Urgency Of Energy Transition (00:44:25): AI's Exploding Energy Demand Versus Its Huge Practical Upsides For Work and Creativity(00:53:03): Honoring Feminine Labor, Back-To-The-Land Women, and The Unseen Work That Sustains Movements(00:55:45): The Real Work Of Homesteading and The Need For Community-Scale, Shared-Resource Living(00:59:23): Three Core Takeaways: It's All Love, It's All Consciousness, and We Need System-Level Change NowHelpful links:Tam Hunt - Author of The Hippies Were Right!: About Consciousness and Everything Else available now on AmazonThe Hippies Were Right: It's All about Vibrations, Man! Using a powerful real-world analogy, they explore how practice owners often suffer for years from "black mold" problems—like high overhead, terrible tax management, and poor cash flow—while spending $60,000 to $100,000 on Band-Aid solutions that only address surface-level symptoms. In this episode, we explore:Diagnosis Before Prescription: Why prescribing solutions without a thorough, root-cause financial diagnosis is the business equivalent of malpractice. The "Kumbaya" Trap: How focusing solely on staff harmony and practice management can end up padding your overhead without increasing your personal income.Order of Operations: Why you must get your cash flow, overhead, and core financial structure right before trying to scale or fix minor day-to-day headaches. The Growth Fallacy: Why opening a second location or buying another practice often just multiplies your existing staff and financial problems.Stop treating the symptoms while ignoring the root cause. Kyle also unpacks rollover equity, earn outs, earn ups, joint venture versus holding company equity, pari passu rights, liquidity expectations, founder syndrome, and the importance of understanding a buyer's funding structure, track record, and incentives before choosing a partner. Host: Lalo Solorzano & Cindy Allen Guest(s): Will Fediw, Virginia Maritime Association Published: September 2, 2026 Length: Approx. 29 minutes Presented by: Global Training Center Summary Trade associations can be much more than networking groups—they can become an extension of your team, a source of industry intelligence, and a powerful collective voice when policy decisions affect your business. In this episode of Simply Trade, Lalo Solorzano and Cindy Allen sit down with Will Fediw of the Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) to explore the real business value of getting involved in an industry association. Will shares examples of how companies of all sizes have used association membership to uncover funding and incentive opportunities, make valuable business connections, strengthen advocacy efforts, and gain access to expertise they may not have internally. The conversation also highlights the close relationship between international trade and the maritime industry. From tariffs and regulatory changes to ports, trucking, rail, warehousing, importers, and exporters, the entire supply chain is interconnected. Finally, the group previews VMA26: International Trade Symposium, taking place October 13–15, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, where maritime, logistics, supply chain, and trade professionals will come together for education, strategic conversations, and networking. Simply Trade listeners can use promo code VMA26Trade for $100 off registration. Main Topic / Discussion This episode explores why active participation in trade and industry associations can create measurable value for businesses. Will explains how the Virginia Maritime Association connects companies across the maritime supply chain—from ocean carriers and terminals to trucking, rail, warehousing, manufacturers, importers, exporters, and professional service providers. The conversation focuses on three major benefits of association involvement: access to information and resources, business-to-business connections, and collective advocacy. Will also explains why advocacy is especially valuable for small and midsize companies that may not have dedicated government affairs teams or in-house resources. At the same time, even major corporations can benefit from having an established association represent broader industry interests before policymakers. Lalo, Cindy, and Will also discuss the importance of educating elected officials about how trade and maritime policy affects businesses, jobs, cargo movement, and communities throughout the supply chain. The episode concludes with a preview of VMA26: International Trade Symposium, October 13–15, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia. Simply Trade Listener Offer: Use promo code VMA26Trade for $100 off registration. Key Takeaways • Trade associations can provide expertise, connections, education, and resources that companies may not have available internally. • Association membership can create real business opportunities by connecting members with potential customers, partners, programs, grants, and industry resources. • Collective advocacy gives businesses—especially smaller companies—a stronger voice with legislators and government agencies without requiring their own full-time government affairs operation. • Maritime transportation and international trade are inseparable. Changes involving tariffs, regulation, cargo flows, ports, carriers, and supply chains ultimately affect businesses across the entire trade ecosystem. • Effective advocacy requires more than access to policymakers. Industry professionals can serve as subject matter experts who help elected officials understand the real-world consequences of proposed policies. • VMA26 brings maritime, shipping, logistics, supply chain, government, and trade professionals together for education, peer-to-peer discussion, and networking. Today's guest is recently retired and is excited to have more time to read in this chapter of life. After wrapping up her career as a global HR leader, Amy said goodbye to Massachusetts after living there for nearly 40 years and moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where she's now enjoying soaking up the history of her new hometown.  Amy is here today seeking ideas for those long books that she's craving. She would especially enjoy a book that teaches her about a topic she might not otherwise learn about. Amy also has a goal to read more books from her as-yet-unread pile of titles that she already owns, but she cannot resist a shiny new library book that's available for checkout at her local branch, and this is keeping her from reading through her owned titles. Your brand exists whether you intentionally build it or not.The question is: Are you controlling the narrative? In this episode of the Culture Matters Podcast, Jay Doran sits down with Rey Perez, CEO of AMPERE Brand, global branding expert, business growth strategist, and entrepreneur, for a conversation about personal branding, perception, entrepreneurship, integrity, impact, and what it takes to intentionally position yourself in the marketplace.Rey's entrepreneurial story began long before branding. At 14 years old, he started a lawn service. By college, he had entered Miami's nightlife industry, eventually discovering that many of the skills he was developing through promoting parties would become the foundation of his career decades later. Before modern CRMs, landing pages, social media marketing, and today's content ecosystem, Rey was collecting customer information, capturing photos and videos, building email lists, creating promotional content, and figuring out how to bring people back to the next event. The venue eventually changed. The principles did not.Today, instead of bringing people into nightclubs, Rey brings entrepreneurs into rooms designed to help them understand, build, and elevate their brands. At the center of Rey's philosophy is the belief that everything has a brand. Companies have brands. Products have brands. Events have brands. And whether they recognize it or not, entrepreneurs have personal brands.Branding, however, is about far more than a logo, website, photo shoot, or social media presence. It is the perception of value that exists in another person's mind. The more intentional you become about positioning, messaging, consistency, and the experiences you create, the greater your ability to influence that perception.Rey also warns entrepreneurs about what he calls the "Blockbuster effect." Success today does not guarantee relevance tomorrow. Organizations and individuals that refuse to evolve, question old processes, adopt new technology, and invest in their positioning risk eventually being overtaken by those who do.That urgency is part of what led Rey to create Brand in 2 Days, an immersive experience designed to compress what once took weeks into an intensive branding process. But the transformation is not simply visual. Rey has watched entrepreneurs become emotional when they finally see their experience, expertise, value, and identity articulated in a way they had never been able to express themselves. For some, building the brand becomes an exercise in recognizing their own worth. In this episode, Jay and Rey discuss:Rey's entrepreneurial beginnings at 14 years oldThe lessons he carried from Miami nightlife into business and brandingWhy human behavior remains at the center of great marketingWhat a brand actually isThe difference between a company brand and a personal brandWhy entrepreneurs need to control the narrative surrounding their reputationHow perception creates value in the marketplaceWhy products, services, events, and people can each become distinct brandsThe danger of the "Blockbuster effect"Why businesses must continuously question the way things have always been doneHow Rey developed the Brand in 2 Days experienceWhy building things in the correct order mattersThe fear entrepreneurs experience when stepping into greater visibilityHow personal branding can change someone's perception of themselvesWhy community and collaboration accelerate transformationRey's transition from pursuing money to pursuing impactWhy he believes influence should be used with loveLeading with contribution before asking for anything in returnWhy integrity is the foundation beneath every sustainable brandUltimately, the conversation moves beyond branding entirely. After decades of entrepreneurship, working with business owners, traveling the world, building companies, and helping people position themselves, Rey identifies integrity as one of the most important principles he has learned.Honor your word. And when you fall out of integrity, acknowledge it, recommit, and get back into integrity.Because visibility may amplify your brand, but it also amplifies who you are.A powerful brand can create attention. A great brand can create opportunity. But without integrity underneath it, neither can last.

    SaaS Fuel
419 | Why Cold Outreach Is Dead and Events Are the New Pipeline | Asaf Katz

Jeff Mains sits down with Asaf Katz — founder of LinkedOtter, host of the Risk Takers show, and a veteran of taking a company public on the ASX, building an "Uber for trucks," navigating a cannabis IPO wave, and doing military cybersecurity work — to unpack why traditional cold outreach (LinkedIn DMs, cold email, "just checking in" follow-ups) has stopped working. Asaf's replacement thesis: live, trust-building events beat cold pitching every time. He breaks down the exact methodology his agency used to generate 350+ organic signups for a single LinkedIn event, how to turn event attendees into real sales conversations without pitching, and the three ingredients every successful event needs (a hot topic, an attractive character, and a warm audience). The conversation also dives into the "SaaSpocalypse" — what AI-driven pricing collapse means for subscription businesses — and closes with Asaf's story of building his own live-event platform from scratch using Claude, with zero coding background, in a matter of weeks.Key Takeaways4:45 – Asaf joins the show; quick recap of his background across cybersecurity, edtech, trucking, and cannabis IPOs.9:19 – Why cold outreach dies without proof: "dial your intention" based on what social proof you actually have.12:59 – How ChatGPT-era automation flooded inboxes and killed the effectiveness of even great copywriting.13:36 – Introducing "Growth With Events": running live LinkedIn shows instead of webinars — 350 organic signups, 50% connection-acceptance rate.16:04 – The SaaSpocalypse: why AI-driven price compression is breaking the sales-led SaaS math ($150K deals, $200K AEs, LinkedIn lead costs).17:34 – Why every high-ticket SaaS is really being bought with a human/advisory layer attached — and how outcome-based pricing brings that back.23:13 – The origin story: a failed 13-person webinar that led Asaf to reverse-engineer the 3 components of a guaranteed-to-succeed event.25:09 – Case study: inviting a viral LinkedIn poster as guest speaker → 750 organic signups, dozens of sales calls, zero pitching.28:08 – The "who else should I talk to?" hack for turning post-interview goodwill into warm referrals.31:24 – Building Risk Takers as a personal media platform separate from client work, and the Dream 100 concept applied to LinkedIn audiences.36:15 – Hosting events on your own website (not Zoom) to capture buyer-intent signals like page visits during the show.40:25 – Building his own event platform with Claude from scratch: the new "AI recommends the tool" buying mechanism and what it means for SaaS marketing.44:08 – Where to find Asaf, LinkedOtter, and Risk Takers.Tweetable Quotes"The outreach approach really needs to be a function of how confident you are in your product." — Asaf Katz, 14:08"No one goes on a website... even when people search on LLMs and they ask for market research, they ask to exclude vendor websites." — Asaf Katz, 21:38"Trust doesn't scale through automation. It scales through the room." — Jeff Mains, 46:00"How about I build less, you pay me less, but we're all actually profiting more." — Asaf Katz, 18:59"It's fairly easy to organize. LinkedIn is really good for building that authority." — Asaf Katz, 20:56SaaS Leadership LessonsMatch your ask to your proof. If you don't have case studies or an MVP, don't pitch — ask for feedback, then convert that feedback call into a sales opportunity later.Events beat cold outreach for high-ACV deals. Once your ticket price crosses $5K–$10K/year, live, trust-building events consistently outperform cold DMs and email.Watch the SaaSpocalypse. AI-driven price compression is breaking the sales-led SaaS model — if AEs and lead costs assumed $150K deals, a forced 80% price cut wrecks your go-to-market math.Bring the human element back into your pricing. High-value SaaS is rarely bought as pure software — it's bought with advisory/consultancy attached. Outcome-based pricing formalizes that.Build less, ship what actually drives value. Most features go unused (the Pareto 20%); cutting scope and pricing accordingly can make everyone more profitable.Own your platform and your audience. Don't just rent other people's LinkedIn followings — run events on your own site to capture buyer-intent data and convert borrowed attention into an owned network over time.Guest Resourcesasaf@linkedotter.comhttps://linkedotter.com/ https://asafkatz.comhttps://www.facebook.com/Asaf.Katz1https://www.linkedin.com/in/asafkatzEpisode SponsorThe Futureproof Series - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfkXKUPZ5xuOqMPR7_gzGybncTtavyR1NThe Captain's KeysSmall Fish, Big Pond – https://smallfishbigpond.com/ Use the promo code ‘SaaSFuel'Champion Leadership Group – https://championleadership.com/https://jeffmains.com/books/SaaS Fuel ResourcesWebsite - https://championleadership.com/Jeff Mains on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffkmains/Twitter - https://twitter.com/jeffkmainsFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/thesaasguy/Instagram - https://instagram.com/jeffkmains

“I'm an event professional” sounds straightforward, until you realize how many completely different industries sit underneath the word events. Working in sports, a fashion show, a music tour and a luxury brand experience may all involve events, but the industries, cultures, networks and expertise are completely different. In this episode, I'm exploring why the industry you view yourself as working in can become just as important to your career as your job title. Sometimes the most useful career question for future job opportunities or networking isn't what job do I want next but what industry do I want to work in next?P.S. You may notice a small change to the podcast name in the coming months! Messy Family Podcast : Catholic conversations on marriage and family

"Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become." - James Clear Summary Is your family running on good routines—or on lost shoes, late-night permission slips, and someone yelling, "Where is your backpack?" If summer loosened every habit in your house, this episode is your invitation to hit the family reset button. We're talking honestly about the routines that shape family culture, whether we choose them or simply fall into them. Bedtimes, chores, prayer, screens, school mornings, and family meals don't just organize the day; over time, they help determine who we become. We'll show you how to assess three essential areas of family life: the spiritual life of your home, your marriage, and the formation of your children. Then we'll get practical about turning vague hopes like "we should pray more" or "the kids need to help" into habits your real family can actually follow. Using four principles from *Atomic Habits*, we'll explore how to make good routines obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying. Expect chore charts, backpack stations, bedtime prayer, brownies after the Rosary, and our hard-earned rule for getting a large family out the door without losing everyone's sanctification. This isn't about creating an Instagram-perfect household. It's about reducing chaos, restoring connection, and building a home where everyone knows they belong. Key Takeaways A fall family reset has four parts: Assess: Honestly examine your family culture. Focus: Choose the pain point that needs the most attention. Create a habit: Build a practical system around the change. Find accountability: Invite your spouse to support you. You do not need to overhaul your entire family this fall. Choose one meaningful change that will help you move from reacting moment by moment to living on purpose.   Couple Discussion Questions What are our biggest pain points right now that we need to change?  What is our best habit that we can build on?  Resources Speaking Request page Events page www.catholiccouplesgetaway.com
