It's one of the largest transfers of wealth in human history—trillions of dollars moving from one generation to the next. But this moment isn't just about inheritance. It's about passing on faith, values, and a vision for generosity.To explore how younger Christians are reimagining stewardship, we spoke with Christin Fejervary, Vice President for Brand and Experience at the National Christian Foundation (NCF)—a trusted partner helping believers give wisely and joyfully.From Obligation to Joyful GenerosityChristin's passion for generosity began early, though not in the way it's shaped her life today.“As a kid,” she shared, “giving was more of an obligation. I watched my parents tithe every week, and I learned discipline from that—but it wasn't until my 20s and 30s, and especially through working at NCF, that I saw how generosity changes us. It frees us from being tied to the things of this world.”That personal transformation has guided her work—helping others experience the joy that comes when giving is no longer a rule to follow but a relationship with God to live out.What's Driving the Next Generation to GiveWhen it comes to generosity, Millennials and Gen Z are rewriting the playbook.According to NCF's research, millennials—now roughly ages 29 to 44—view philanthropy as part of their identity. For Christian millennials, that identity is deeply spiritual: “My life is a way to give away.”Christin explains:“They believe all resources have equal value—not just money, but time, influence, and relationships. They don't just want to write a check. They want to be part of the change.”This shift from transactional to relational giving marks a profound change from previous generations.Reimagining Traditional ToolsYounger Christians aren't abandoning tools like donor-advised funds, estate plans, or investment portfolios—they're personalizing them.“They want to see impact,” Christin said. “They're asking, ‘How is my giving being used?' and ‘What difference is it making?'”They're also expanding how they define stewardship—using investment portfolios for charitable investing and seeking spiritual returns as much as financial ones.At NCF, this has led to growing interest in community-based giving. Across the country, younger givers are joining together to give collectively, blending faith, friendship, and impact.What Advisors Need to KnowFinancial advisors also play a key role in this transition. But Christin says serving the next generation requires a shift in mindset.“Younger Christians want to co-create their giving plans. They want a seat at the table and a voice in the process. It's not just about managing money—it's about helping them uncover all the ways God's entrusted them to give.”For advisors, that means focusing less on control and more on collaboration, connection, and calling.How Families Can Have Faith-Filled ConversationsGenerosity isn't just a financial transaction—it's a family story. Cristin encourages families to start there.“The data shows that both generations—young and old—see faith as a guiding principle,” she said. “The key is to unpack what faithfulness looks like for each generation. The next step, Cristin says, is ensuring their voices are part of the conversation.“This is the time to incorporate women's perspectives in giving and wealth transfer. In this episode, I'm exposing the Authenticity Trap for you.  The Authenticity Trap is the mixed messages women get about “being themselves.” We're told authenticity is the key to trust, confidence, and influence, yet many of us were conditioned to 1) think we need to lead like men if we want to make it to the top to serve, and 2) constantly abandon our own needs and wants to center and care for those around us. That means when we try to show up authentically, we often bump up against years of social conditioning that taught us to prioritize likability over authenticity. The authenticity trap is what happens when the call to “be yourself” collides with systems and expectations that were never designed to make room for your full, real self. In this episode, I unpack why so many women struggle with authenticity in leadership.  It's not because we lack confidence or clarity, but because we've learned to perform leadership instead of embodying it in a way that is true to who we are. We've been rewarded for being agreeable, accommodating, and endlessly capable, even when that performance costs us energy, boundaries, and joy. The result of the Authenticity Trap is burnout, disconnection, and missed opportunities to share your best self with the world.  Of course, I'm not going to leave you hanging without an action plan.  We will dig into simple ways to begin reclaiming your authenticity as a daily leadership practice. We'll talk about getting clear on your values and boundaries, noticing when you're performing versus connecting, and experimenting with small, brave acts of honesty and self-expression. My hope is that you walk away knowing that authenticity isn't a luxury or a buzzword.  It's a muscle that, when strengthened, allows you to tap into who you truly are when you disconnect from all the noise around you. When you strengthen this muscle and step out of the Authenticity Trap, you not only lead with more joy, ease, and impact — you also give everyone around you permission to do the same. The key to a successful pitch is to articulate all the values in the deal. This doesn't mean explaining how the product works in great detail This also doesn't mean spending half your allotted pitch time trying to convince the audience that diabetes is a problem. It does mean, however, that every value that has come into the startup is noted in the pitch deck with at least a logo or a bullet point. The rule of pitching is that if you don't mention it, then it doesn't exist. Here's a list to consider adding to the pitch deck: All funding sources to date, including angels, angel groups, grants, VC funds, and more. All partners, team members, and others who have contributed to building the startup. Any exits and positive outcomes for startups led by the team. All customers who have bought the product or given feedback. Include a logo for each one somewhere in the pitch deck. Investors look for evidence that investors, customers, and partners are supporting you. For each value, say it out loud with words. Add Consulting to Your Startup Launch Hello, this is Hall T. Martin with the Startup Funding Espresso -- your daily shot of startup funding and investing. In launching a startup, consider adding a consulting program. New products and services often require additional training and services to help the customer achieve success. Over time, the product improves to the point that the customer can install and run it on their own. In the early days, use consulting to help customers become successful. The startup raising venture capital will need to be scalable to receive funding. Consulting is not scalable. Investors will downgrade the company for funding if a substantial amount of revenue comes from consulting services. Use a second company to provide the consulting. It can form a partnership with the main startup to provide consulting services. If consulting proves valuable to the startup, then it can be bought by the startup and rolled into the main company later. Many startups find that their product is not ready for prime time at the launch. By providing consulting services, one can overcome the initial product weaknesses and potentially make additional revenue to pay the bills. Consider adding consulting to your startup launch. Paul Gregory describes events on November 23rd when Margarite Oswald called Pete Gregory seeking shelter after she and Marina were essentially abducted by Life magazine. Pete notified Secret Service agent Mike Howard, who moved Marina, Margarite, and the two babies to the Six Flags Inn for interrogation. Margarite immediately began campaigning, demanding her "hero" son be rehabilitated as an innocent CIA/FBI agent. Pete's presence was vital, as Marina feared the Secret Service were the KGB. A crucial interrogation point was the famous photo of Lee with his rifle; Marina was reluctant to confess she took it, fearing reprisal. But after the Trump administration sanctioned several members of the court this year, Americans trying to prosecute some of the world's worst crimes at the ICC are discovering those sanctions are preventing them from doing that. Robin Deal, AquaPure Product Manager at Hubbard-Hall unpacks how seasoned pros can squeeze more performance—and less sludge—out of industrial wastewater systems without compromising compliance or plant uptime.    From "clear water in a jar" to stable discharge in the field  Robin details a practical jar-testing workflow: start from upstream processes, target pH using hydroxide/sulfide solubility curves, choose the right coagulant (aluminum, iron, calcium, lanthanum, or organics), and validate against metals/COD/BOD/phosphorus before scaling. The test bench isn't the finish line; it's the feasibility gate when you're treating 150,000+ gpd.  Lean wastewater: cost center or controllable system?  Commodity choices (lime, alum, ferric) can generate 70–85% more sludge than optimized blends—driving hazardous waste hauling, clogging lines, and shortening pump life. Robin reframes the "penny-per-pound" price war into a total-system economics conversation: sludge recyclability, maintenance cycles, and realistic break-even targets.  PFAS: remove now, plan to destroy  For hex-chrome platers and other industrial dischargers, Robin shares near-term and emerging options: carbon filtration for immediate removal, evaporation/condensation where capital exists, and destruction pathways under evaluation—advanced oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, "thermobotic agglomeration," and ball milling—with an eye on evolving limits and cost realities.  One Water thinking for manufacturers  "Water is water."
