BMBG[SEASON FOUR. EPISODE ONE]- Pray for Palestine by BMBG
In our season finale, we rounded up 2020! We started from describing our 2020 in two words all the way to discussing the massive impact covid-19 has had on the entire nation. - We also discuss the things that need to be left in 2020 alongside the reality of our ultimate purpose as muslims in this world. We definitely came to the conclusion that covid humbled us ALL!! - We hope you enjoy this episode and take many valuable lessons from what we discuss and can also apply them to your 2021 In Shaa Allah.
In this episode of the BMBG podcast we talk about when enough is enough and setting boundaries. Often in life and especially as women we allow people we consider close or our loved ones to have full accessibility to us which sometimes can become draining to ones health and peace. However, there comes a time when boundaries need to be put in place. When people hear boundaries, they usually feel as though that person doesn’t want to see them or spend time with but 9/10 that isn’t the case. Boundaries aren’t bad a thing but more of a guideline to protect your happiness and sanity and for others to respect that. Do you know when your enough is enough?
I am sure we are all aware of what is currently going on in Africa and has been going on for many years. we as the youths in Africa and the youths in diaspora can no longer turn a blind eye to what the government of these countries are doing to the innocent people and less fortunate. Open discussions need to be happening everyday, protests need to be taken place and accountability needs to be held by the governments who are trying to run Africa to the ground. In this episode, we WERE actually suppose to discuss Nigeria and Congo as a hot topic but BECAUSE of how heartbreaking and close to home this topic was for all three of us, we ended turning it into our main discussion. This episode we touch on #endsars in Nigeria and the #silentholocaust happening in Congo. we are fully aware that there are so many of countries in Africa and outside the African continent that are facing inequality and brutality but we were so limited on time We hope this episode allows you to learn more about what going on in Africa and encourage you to the support in however many ways you can.
BMBG[SEASON THREE.EPISODE 4]-Struggles Of Loving Thyself by BMBG
In this episode we start off with a discussion about Tory Lanez and Meg the Stallion and about how black women are ALWAYS torn down day in and day out even when we try to protect our black men who only go round and disrespect us. We are tired! How is she even being called a snitch after protecting Tory from the very start?? Make it make sense please. - We then move on to the difference between friendship and companionship, the struggles of finding a balance with our identities, finding the right friends or company that understand both our culture and faith. This conversation made us realise we have had a lot of struggles growing up as Black Muslim women in a western society - We then touch on a very sensitive topic which is about embracing ones physical features and how this can be made possible. Again, it’s not as straightforward as it may seem, we realised it’s more than just standing in the mirror and telling yourself “ your beautiful”. We touch on other things too that are really beneficial but you’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out! - Please let us know your thoughts and if any of the topics stood out to you. Hope you enjoy.

Everyone always talk about forgiveness , but have you ever stopped to ask yourself what does it mean to you. This podcast is a touch on forgiveness and the importance of it within Islamic practices. May Allah SWT make us among those that are forgiven and forgivers ( Ameen)
As a Black Muslim sister, who for a majority of her life did not cover her hair, I understand the struggles and pressure those who do not cover their hair face from both the Muslim and non-Muslim community. I am sick and tired of others labeling those who don’t cover their hair “less of a Muslim“ just because they choose not to cover their hair.
Everyday being told to "calm down " or being asked " why are you so angry" because we are black and want our voices to be heard . Yet we are portrayed as submissive because we chose to wear an hijab and the ignorance of people. I am just as tired as you are sis. This podcast is an amazing discussion with my wonderful guest as she discusses what it means to her to be a Black Muslim Woman. We also discuss what we love most about being Black Muslim women alongside the challenges and struggles we have faced with both identities. Hope you Enjoy x

We honestly need to question our society. Aside from the love we black Muslims have amongst ourselves, who else cares or is trying understand us in the wider community or social media?
