Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al Aas (ra) Session 13 Abdullah ibn Amr (ra) relates, I have memorised 1k sayings from The Messenger ﷺ (ibn Assakr). The Famous Chain of Hadith Amr ibn Shuayb ibn Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al Aas (ra). Initially the hadith were not preserved, this was later abrogated. The Sermon at the Conquest of Makkah was written for Abu Shaah (ra). May Allah SWT make radiant the man who has heard what I ﷺ have said and he has then preserved it in his memory until he conveys it to another. Perhaps the one he conveyed it to has a better understanding than him (Tirmidhi - Mutawatir related by 24 companions with 175 chains, recorded in 45 books).
Hadrat Abu Zharr (ra). Session 30 The Ascetic The Lips & 2 Angels - Surah 33 v56. The rich can gain extra rewards as they give more in charity, however others can make up after the obligatory Salah with Takbeer,Tahmeed and Tasbeeh... Thus the sins are forgiven even if they are like the foam of the ocean (Abu Dawood). The miser is the one who hears the name of The Messenger ﷺ and does not send salutations (and the path to paradise passes by) (Ibn Abee Aasim). Every supplication is kept veiled until Blessings are invoked upon The Messenger ﷺ & his family (Tabarani). 2 Angels near your Lips guarding The Salutations sent to The Messenger ﷺ. Whenever salutations are sent the 2 Angels say "May Allah SWT forgive you", Allah SWT replies "Ameen" (Tabarani) & Surah 33 v56. Allah SWT sends Salat & salam upon the one who sends salutations upon The Messenger ﷺ (Ahmad).
Hadrat Abu Dharr (ra). Session 8 The Ascetic 'May Allah SWT keep the tribe of Aslam safe & sound. May Allah SWT forgive the tribe of Ghifaar' (Bukhari). Buraydah (ra) uses The Turban of The Messenger ﷺ as a standard to enter Al Madeenah. Later Buraydah (ra) is seen carrying the same standard as The Messenger ﷺ enters Al Madeenah. Later in life, Buraydah (ra) was sent to Khurasaan and he passed away in Marw during the reign of Yazeed ibn Mu'aawiyah. The Ansaar, Muzaynah, Juhaynah, Ashja'a, Ghifaar and the members of Banoo Abd Daar are my Mawaaleey [close associates]... (Muslim).

Abu Bakr (ra) has the greatest reward for he was the first to compile The Quran (Abu Ya'laa). Look for sweetness in 3 In Salaah, the recitation of the Quran & the Zikir of Allah SWT. If you find it, rejoice, if not the door of goodness is locked and strive earnestly to open it (Ibn Al Jawzee rah). Zayd (ra) was 24 when Umar (ra) reigned as Caliph. When Umar (ra) travelled, Zayd (ra) was appointed as deputy in Al Medina. Zayd (ra) passed verdicts in Al Medina and for matters outside of the Holy City (Ibn Sa'ad).
Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 18 The Scribe of The Quran The unmarried Zayd (ra) is sent to look for his future father in-law at Uhud. #ShaykhIbrahimZidan #ZADAcademy #Quran #Hadith #IslamicPodcasts #IslamicStudiesResearch The Essence of Tarbiyah Islamiyah: Islamic Nurturing and Development Introduction Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. I'm Zayd Haji from Zad Academy. Our study on Tarbiyah Islamiyah highlights its crucial role in shaping our faith and character according to Islamic principles through Qur'anic and Hadith guidance. Understanding Tarbiyah Islamiyah Tarbiyah Islamiyah is the Islamic process of nurturing character, morals, and faith based on Qur'anic and Sunnah teachings, guiding every aspect of life from childhood onward. In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah (SWT) says: O believers! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow Satan's footsteps. Surely he is your sworn enemy. (Qur'an, 2:208) This verse underlines the necessity of embracing Islam fully, which includes continuous self-improvement and development through Tarbiyah. The Role of Knowledge in Tarbiyah Islam places great importance on the acquisition of knowledge as a means to nurture the soul and intellect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: "Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim, and he who imparts knowledge to those who do not deserve it, is like one who puts a necklace of jewels, pearls and gold around the neck of swines." (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224) Grade: Da'if (Darussalam) Knowledge is the foundation of Tarbiyah, essential for understanding and practicing Islam correctly. Without it, living by Islamic principles is difficult. In another verse, Allah (SWT) elevates those who seek knowledge: O believers! When you are told to make room in gatherings, then do so. Allah will make room for you ˹in His grace˺. And if you are told to rise, then do so. Allah will elevate those of you who are faithful, and ˹raise˺ those gifted with knowledge in rank. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (Qur'an, 58:11) This highlights the spiritual and societal elevation that comes with proper Islamic education and nurturing. The Importance of Fitrah and Tarbiyah Islam teaches that every human being is born with a natural disposition towards faith, known as fitrah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: No babe is born but upon Fitra. It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist. A person said: Allah's Messenger, what is your opinion if they were to die before that (before reaching the age of adolescence when they can distinguish between right and wrong)? He said: It is Allah alone Who knows what they would be doing. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2658e) Tarbiyah is crucial in preserving this innate inclination towards Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and ensuring that it is nurtured through Islamic teachings. The Qur'an reinforces this concept: So be steadfast in faith in all uprightness ˹O Prophet˺—the natural Way of Allah which He has instilled in ˹all˺ people. Let there be no change in this creation of Allah. That is the Straight Way, but most people do not know. (Qur'an, 30:30) Through proper Tarbiyah, Muslims can maintain their fitrah and grow in their faith. The Comprehensive Nature of Tarbiyah Tarbiyah Islamiyah goes beyond rituals to include ethics, behavior, and social interactions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of good character. Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: The Prophet (ﷺ) never used bad language neither a "Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character." Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 3559 This Hadith underscores that Tarbiyah aims to develop a well-rounded individual who embodies Islamic virtues in all areas of life. Conclusion Tarbiyah Islamiyah is a lifelong journey of nurturing faith, character, and conduct to please Allah (SWT). By seeking knowledge, maintaining fitrah, and striving for good character, Muslims fulfill their Islamic development. May Allah (SWT) grant us the strength to continuously engage in Tarbiyah. Ameen.
Tafsir: Understanding the Glorious Qur'an and Its Importance Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, I am Zayd Haji, a postgraduate student in Islamic Science at Zad Academy. My journey in Islamic studies is driven by a deep desire to enhance my understanding of our Deen. Today, I'm excited to share insights from our first lecture on Tafsir, the science of interpreting the Qur'an, at Zad Academy. The Significance of Tafsir Tafsir is the essential study of explaining the Qur'an's meanings, helping Muslims understand and practice Islam correctly. As the Word of Allah (SWT), the Qur'an is our ultimate guide. Surely this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers—who do good—that they will have a mighty reward. (Qur'an 17:9). The Qur'an was revealed in Arabic to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) through Angel Jibril (AS). The Prophet (ﷺ) explained its verses to his companions—this is Tafsir, essential for understanding Allah's guidance. The Role of Language in Tafsir Understanding Tafsir requires knowledge of the Arabic language, as the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic. The linguistic structure, grammar, and historical context are crucial for accurate interpretation. The term “Tafsir” comes from the root “Fassara,” meaning to explain, while "Ta'wil" often refers to deeper, hidden meanings. Both concepts are key to understanding the Qur'an's guidance. Sources of Tafsir Tafsir is not based on individual opinion but is derived from established sources. The primary sources include: The Qur'an itself: One part of the Qur'an can explain another. For example, the meaning of "Muttaqin" (those conscious of Allah) in Surah Al-Baqarah (Qur'an 2:2) This is the Book! There is no doubt about it—a guide for those mindful ˹of Allah˺ — further clarified by other verses in the Qur'an that describe the characteristics of the righteous. The Hadith: The sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) are the second most important source. The Prophet (ﷺ) was sent to explain the Qur'an, as stated in the Qur'an, ˹We sent them˺ with clear proofs and divine Books. And We have sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Reminder, so that you may explain to people what has been revealed for them, and perhaps they will reflect. (Qur'an 16:44). For example, when explaining the verse Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, ˹genuine˺ prayer should deter ˹one˺ from indecency and wickedness. The remembrance of Allah is ˹an˺ even greater ˹deterrent˺. And Allah ˹fully˺ knows what you ˹all˺ do. (Qur'an 29:45), the Prophet (ﷺ) demonstrated how to perform Salah through his actions. The sayings of the Companions: The companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) often asked him for explanations, and their understanding of the Qur'an is a critical resource. Ibn Abbas (RA) is especially renowned for his deep understanding of Tafsir, having been taught directly by the Prophet (ﷺ), who made dua for him, saying, Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Once the Prophet (ﷺ) embraced me (pressed me to his chest) and said, "O Allah, teach him wisdom (i.e. the understanding of the knowledge of Qur'an). (Sahih al-Bukhari 3756). The Arabic language and grammar: Understanding the linguistic nuances and the context in which the words were used by the Arabs at the time of revelation is crucial. For instance, the term "Fajr" in Surah Al-Fajr By the dawn (Qur'an 89:1) is understood within the context of dawn and early morning light. Scholarly Consensus and Ijtihad: Tafsir also involves the scholarly consensus (Ijma') and individual reasoning (Ijtihad) within the framework of established Islamic principles. Conclusion The study of Tafsir allows Muslims to connect deeply with the Qur'an. By understanding its context and the teachings of the Prophet (ﷺ), we gain clarity on living according to Allah's guidance. May Allah (SWT) grant us the wisdom to apply the Qur'an's teachings in our daily lives. Ameen. Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
Amr ibn Al Jamooh & Abdullah ibn Amir ibn Haraam (raa) were exhumed 46 years later due to a canal's burst bank (Abu Nu'aym). May Allah SWT reward The Ansaar with goodness on our behalf, especially Abdullah ibn Amir ibn Haraam & Saad ibn Ubaadah (raa) [Abu Yaalaa]. Immediately after being buried Thabit al-Bunaanee (rah) was seen praying in his grave (Ahmad). Whenever Thabit (rah) passed by a Masjid he would enter it and pray (Ibn Sa'd). When offering Tahjjud, Thabit (rah) would recite Surah 18 v37 repeatedly whilst weeping (Ibn Sa'd).
Guarding the Priceless Deed of Salaah When the Salaah is prayed with humility and submission, standing bowing and prostrating correctly, this Salaah rises up in a bright and beautiful form supplicating for the person "May Allah SWT guard you as you guarded me." If a person is not punctual with his Salaah and performs the standing bowing and prostration incorrectly the Salah rises up ugly and dark and curses "May Allah SWT destroy you as you destroyed me." (Baihaqi). Keep your backs [leaves all disputes behind] and stomachs [ eat so as to avoid lethargy] light for salaah (Abu Nu'aym). The worst of thieves is the one who steals from his Salaah he does not perfect the bowing, prostration and Khushoo (Ahmad).

This week's replay is Dr. Fareeha Malik, DDS, mom of 2 with a history of severe postpartum depression. PPD ended up informing her relationships and and even her reproduction. Of course, we discuss how she she found healing. Bringing home a baby doesn't always mean mom's eternal happiness. Not all mothers feel “the way they should” after the baby is born, and may feel lost if they don't know where to turn for resources. This endangers not only mom but also a newborn. In a time when 14000 children have been unalived in a completely manmade g-cide, this episode still has its place as one of the struggles mothers face. And for those of our momsisters delivering via C-section without anesthesia, delivering prematurely due to stress, shock, and manmade famine, PPD is a real threat with deep seated claws. May Allah SWT first and foremost secure the survival of our momsisters and their newborns born in an ongoing g-cide, and protect them from every evil of the heart and mind, and destroy the enemies who threaten their physical states. Ameen. We were so into the conversation that we didn't get to review the valuable resources we have for our community. check out the shownotes on our website or DM us.Links:1. Amr ibn Al-Aas (ra), Session 21 The Fox of The Arabs After the conclusion of The Treaty of Hudaybiah, Surah Victory is revealed and recited to Umar (ra). Verily the evil members of my nation are those who disrespect my companions (Ibn Adee). Whoever insults my companions then may Allah SWT curse them (Ahmad). The Glorious Intercession is not for those who diminished the rank of my companions (Daylamee). O Allah SWT, send Salah upon Amr ibn Al-Aas (ra) for he loves You SWT and loves Your Messenger ﷺ (Siyar). Amr (ra) is away in Bahrain and The Messenger ﷺ misses him (Tabarani).
Mariam Muhanna comes on today with experience both working and living as an expat in Gaza for several years prior to coming back to the United States. Hear about her day to day experiences and why she wants to go back. Also remember to pray for her many immediate family members who have been killed within the last 80 plus days. May Allah SWT reunite them all in Jannah (Heaven). Ameen. We get some insight into how Gazans are deeply affected by any losses in a tight community, but it's still unimaginable. It's a crime to dehumanize this place and its population in the ways the media and those in power have done, and we're more than humbled to have Palestinian voices on our podcast to affirm the humanity of all people. As believers, we know that Imam Mehdi (AS) will come and bring justice to the world. We are aware that he will come with signs that will indicate his arrival. However, the question remains: will everyone accept his signs when he shows them? This is a thought-provoking question because history has shown that signs alone are not enough to convince people. To understand this better, let us reflect on the story of Prophet Musa (AS) and Pharaoh, as mentioned in Surah At-Taha. Prophet Musa (AS) showed multiple signs to Pharaoh to convince him of the power of Allah (SWT), but Pharaoh refused to believe in them. Even after witnessing the miracles, Pharaoh accused Prophet Musa (AS) of being a magician and asked his own magicians to compete with him. On the day of the competition, thousands of people were present to witness the magic, but only a handful of magicians accepted the faith. This shows that signs alone are not enough to convince people. Even after witnessing miracles, some people may still reject the truth. Satan will whisper to them, and they will fall into disbelief. Similarly, when Imam Mehdi (AS) comes, he will show us his signs. However, not everyone will accept them, and some may even oppose him. This will be a calamity for the Imam. Even though he will be successful at the end, the majority will not accept his signs like they didn't accept the signs of Prophet Musa (AS). This is a warning for us all. We must prepare ourselves beforehand and keep our faith strong. We must strive to be among those who accept the signs and follow Imam Mehdi (AS). It is not enough to just witness the miracles. We must have faith in our hearts and not fall into the trap of Satan's whispers. It is also important to remember that Allah (SWT) has a sunnah, a way of doing things. Those who reject the signs and do not believe will eventually perish. This is a harsh reality, but it is the sunnah of Allah (SWT). We must take heed of this warning and prepare ourselves accordingly. In conclusion, the story of Prophet Musa (AS) and Pharaoh teaches us that signs alone are not enough to convince people. We must prepare ourselves beforehand and keep our faith strong. When Imam Mehdi (AS) comes and shows us his signs, we must recognize them and accept the truth. May Allah (SWT) guide us and keep us on the right path. Ameen.
