It's been 2 years, but I'm back! In this episode I talk about my experience and what I learned at VidSummit as well as my goals and what I'm currently working on.

Welcome to the very first episode of the very first season of DFW Disruptors!  This is Dallas-Fort Worth, which means there is no shortage of amazing entrepreneurs and creatives to learn from. They are the individuals and partners that make this great city BIG in their own special way.  It is just my luck that I happen to have known an entrepreneur my entire 27 years of life; my dad.  He's a proud man with a life of many harsh realities before he could touch the American Dream that so many Vietnamese boat people sought. He escaped the heat of communism and managed to keep his cool long enough to see his HVAC business flourish under the Texas sun.  In this episode, he shares with us how he got into the business and what makes him successful, as well as his advice to new entrepreneurs. Hey y'all, it's Cinco de Mayo and in this episode I'll tell y'all about Five Sixty, the restaurant on the top of Reunion Tower which is closing for good. I also update y'all on businesses reopening around the Dallas area nad when they're scheduled to open. Also, an interesting story about an MMA fighter living out of the gym, training for his fight on May 9th at UFC 249.

Hey y'all, in this episode I cover the grand re-opening of Texas businesses. The following types of businesses will open back up once again for Texans at a 25% capacity starting May 1st, 2020: Retailers Restaurants Movie Theatres There's going to be a slightly different take for all of these sorts of businesses, especially for movie theatres. But at restaurants, you can expect disposable menus, disposable side condiments, and the like. The 2nd wave of businesses opening will not happen for these businesses until May 18th, 2020 (If everything goes well): Bars (even if they serve food) Clubs Hair salons Barbershops Can we go back to normal yet? One Dallas business owner is keeping her salon open despite emergency orders: Shelly Luther of Salon A La Mode, is taking a stand and keeping her business open despite being sent a cease and desist letter. Hey there friend. The world seems to have gone to a grinding halt and along with it has gone the normalcy of what once was life as we knew it. COVID-19 or coronavirus has been a scary wake up call for me and a terrible sickness for others. I believe we will get through this eventually and come out the other side more experienced and ready for the random chaos that life may throw at us. I’m wishing you and your family great health and prosperity in these uncertain times!

Hey y’all! All I needed was some time alone to rediscover my passion for writing. I go over why I love words and how I rediscovered my love for poetry and books. I hope this episode reminds you of what you love - I needed to get to a quiet place and step away from the world for a bit to figure it out and I’m so glad I did. Enjoy!
