A guy goes into a Best Buy the other day to purchase a laptop. He’s at the checkout asking for some help, which apparently he got. So, the man said to the clerk, “Thank you, sir.” But it turns out the sir – identified as a ma’am. That’s right, folks. The Best Buy employee happened to be transgender. The worker became enraged and defiantly told the customer that he would not sell him a laptop unless he called him “ma’am.” The customer pulled out a cell phone and recorded what happened next. Turns out the store manager agreed with the worker – telling the customer to buy the laptop someplace else. Back in the day Best Buy was known as the home of the Geek Squad. But these days Best Buy is known as the home of the Freak Squad. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Patrick Renna (The Sandlot, The Big Green, Dugout Dads) joins us this week for a warm and surprisingly raw conversation about carrying a movie three generations have loved since he was thirteen years old. Patrick gets into the almost ridiculous way he landed The Sandlot, why the you play ball like a girl scene was never written for him, and why he will not perform the line everybody asks him for. We also get into the single negative comment that can undo fifty good ones, the money reality of making scale on a classic, and the moment he nearly cried talking about what he hopes his kids remember about him. Thank you to our sponsors:

If prayer feels like pressure to say the right words, you're not alone and you're not failing. We've been trained to treat prayer like a technique: clear goals, strong sentences, measurable results. But prayer was never meant to be reducible. The moment we shrink it down to what we can fully explain, we risk losing the very thing we're trying to reach: living communion with God.We start in 1 Corinthians 2, where Paul contrasts the “wisdom of this age” with the wisdom of God in a mystery. A secret can be told once and wrapped up. A mystery keeps calling us forward, clue after clue, for a lifetime. That's why the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, not to teach them how to do the flashiest miracle. Real prayer invites dependence, wonder, and a willingness to follow even when we don't understand. From there we talk about what spiritual maturity actually looks like. Sometimes it's not more words but fewer. Not more certainty but a more childlike heart. We explore silence as a genuine spiritual discipline and why many of us are more uncomfortable with quiet than we are with loud worship. Then we anchor it in Romans 8:26: when we don't know what to pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings. God is present in the breath, the pause, and the sigh.We also share a practical shift for ministry moments: at the hospital, across a coffee table, or praying with someone carrying heavy pain, we don't have to “perform” answers. We can let the Spirit do the heavy lifting and trust that deep work can happen even when nothing looks dramatic on the outside. If this stretched you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review telling us: are you willing to let silence be part of your prayer life?My hope is that this podcast helps grow your faith and equips you to accomplish your dreams and goals!Follow me on InstagramFollow me on FacebookFollow me on TikTok

The Mets are red hot, but Evan Roberts still refuses to call them a playoff contender. Tiki Barber sees reasons for optimism heading into a huge series against the Padres, while Evan insists the Mets remain a bad team on a hot streak until they get within seven games of a playoff spot. The debate also turns to whether Andy Green could earn the Mets' permanent managerial job with a strong finish. Plus, Evan defends his stance on Jaxson Dart, arguing that by the end of Year 2 the Giants should know whether they truly have their franchise quarterback.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth denies the operational problems aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. For over nine months, more than 5,000 sailors and Marines have been trapped in a relentless deployment in the Middle East. Having spent over 250 consecutive days at sea without making landfall, the crew of the Lincoln has endured a record-breaking stretch for a modern aircraft carrier. Originally intended for routine operations in the Pacific, the warship was redirected into fifth-month combat duty against Iran without a sustainable rotation strategy or adequate logistical support. Samuel Ben-Ur and Bill Roggio discuss the "Board of Peace" plan for post-war Gaza, which proposes a civilian Palestinian government overseen by international forces. A significant impasse remains: Israel refuses to withdraw until Hamas is disarmed, while Hamas has endorsed the plan, likely hoping its allies—Turkey and Qatar—will oversee the verification process. The discussion reveals that Gaza's tunnel network is more extensive than previously believed, with only 40–50% cleared after years of war. One proposed solution to prevent Hamas from regrouping is filling the remaining tunnels with cement. (8)

Ken and Anthony field a caller praising the Guardians' deadline activity before Ken doubles down on comments that drew backlash, backing Todd Monken's remarks that Dillon Gabriel has "earned" more reps in the Browns' open quarterback competition. They debate whether Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson have actually separated themselves through training camp, with Ken arguing neither has taken control and that fans should stay open-minded rather than demand the job be handed to their favorite. The discussion turns to how dug-in some Shedeur fans are, including a caller who claimed to have watched him since peewee football, and both hosts stress they want whoever wins the job to truly earn it.

IN this episode Dr. Anthony Fauci’s appearance before a Senate hearing became the focus of intense scrutiny after he repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment rights rather than answer lawmakers’ questions about COVID-era policies, decision-making, and government transparency. The hearing also featured disputes between committee members, attorneys, and witnesses, highlighting the ongoing political and public debate surrounding the pandemic response.Supporters and critics viewed the proceedings through very different lenses. Some lawmakers argued that the hearing was a necessary examination of decisions that affected schools, businesses, churches, travel, and everyday life during the pandemic. Others characterized the hearing as politically motivated and defended Fauci’s public service record. Also in this Ben discusses exchanges with senators including Rand Paul, Rick Scott, Josh Hawley, Joni Ernst, Ashley Moody, and Bernie Moreno, and the broader debate over accountability, transparency, and the long-term consequences of COVID-19 policies. They also examine reactions from President Donald Trump, media commentary defending Fauci, and continuing disagreements over school closures, distancing guidelines, vaccine messaging, and government authority during public health emergencies.Topics Covered: Dr. Anthony Fauci repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment during Senate questioning Questions from senators regarding COVID-19 policies and government decision-making Debate over school closures, distancing guidelines, and public health restrictions Discussion of transparency, accountability, and congressional oversight Reactions from President Donald Trump and members of Congress Media coverage and competing interpretations of Fauci’s legacy Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Dr. Anthony Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right 111 times during a high-stakes Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, chaired by Sen. Rand Paul, over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The hearing followed the release of Fauci's 1,100-page personal diary which had contradicting entries and personal reflections from the pandemic era. Senator Paul has long argued Fauci outright lied to the American people about COVID's origins and his recommendations about school closures. FOX's Eben Brown speaks with Jonathan Turley, Fox News contributor, criminal defense attorney and the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University, who says Dr. Fauci's refusal to testify could have larger consequences for him.
