Hosted by formerly bored teenagers Liam Miller Castles and Sabina Oldham, Cream House, White Trim (and Other Modern Horrors) is a rambling conversation podcast exploring and critiquing the paint colors of the houses in their neighborhood. Also featuring
Liam and Sabina rediscover their now colorfully-lit neighborhood just before Christmas in their first-ever bonus episode. After some mishaps with audio quality (more on that at the end of the episode, if you survive that long) they discover many deer, trees on roofs, and and one particular inflatable decoration that is quickly named Funky Guy Yeti. We might release another bonus episode in the next few months, so stay somewhat tuned! And who knows? Maybe we'll do more than that. we'll see.
In the season finale of Cream House, White Trim, Liam and Sabina meet on Zoom and explore their childhood homes, among many other things. They get distracted by disappearing cars, ugly hedges, and lots of brown brick. And they have a very entertaining form for you!! If you fill it out, you might even get a prize! The prize can probably be whatever you want, too, because I (sorry, third person is hard) haven't decided what it is yet! So you should do that! https://forms.gle/SwDrBZBt7JVQAVpg8
In episode nine of Cream House, White Trim, Sabina and Liam are joined by Amelia Dusevoir, a friend of Sabina's, and, apparently, Kristen Bell's clone. They take a walk through Amelia's neighborhood and discuss everything from Disney houses to orange exercise balls. Also, thank you to all the cats. Particularly the ones who joined us for this episode. But also all of them. In episode eight of Cream House, White Trim, Sabina and Liam take their amateur recording equipment to the Willamette River. While avoiding cranes, motorboats, the wind, falling in, and most people's docks, they also somehow manage to talk about the houseboats that line parts of the waterway. Huge thank you to Collin Oldham for paddling us around, helping to seal everything electronic, rigging the canoe for travel, and every other thing he's done for us and the podcast. Aggregate, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: "3 a: a rock composed of mineral crystals of one or more kinds or of mineral rock fragments : an aggregate rock. b: any of several hard inert materials (such as sand, gravel, or slag) used for mixing with a cementing material to form concrete, mortar, or plaster. c: a clustered mass of individual soil particles varied in shape, ranging in size from a microscopic granule to a small crumb, and considered the basic structural unit of soil."
In the belated seventh episode of Cream House, White Trim, Liam and Sabina agree on many things, like lavender houses and vegetables, and argue about many others, like whose birthday it is. After much discussion, it is ruled that concrete comes in an array of colors, outdoor fans are silly, and roofs are pointless and nobody even needs to bother with them. (Just kidding. Can you tell Sabina wrote this one?) Also featuring Zarb, the world's most marvelous cat, or so he says.
In the sixth episode of Cream House, White Trim, Liam and Sabina are joined by Asher Wolfsmith, a friend of Liam's and a self-titled modern horror. Together they avoid getting hit by cars, analyze dancing trees, and argue over the necessity of having a favorite. And if you want to write postcards to tell people to vote, you totally can! Here is one organization to get you started: https://votefwd.org.
Liam and Sabina record Cream House, White Trim's fifth episode at night. Given that the podcast is about color, and the dark makes color harder to see, this presents some interesting challenges! But they press on, discussing a Little Free Library, lamenting an ugly apartment complex, and greeting a dog named Lubin. P.S. We are going on hiatus for a week, because podcasting is hard!! So subscribe in the meantime, and tune in for our next episode (with a guest!) on August 31.
In episode 4 of Cream House, White Trim, Sabina and Liam complain about extra stairs, discuss the difference between actual dots and the word "dots," and learn about a chicken named Cheeser. They also take a stroll past Sabina's house and somehow manage to avoid talking about what color it is.
In our first guest episode, Cream House, White Trim is overthrown by longtime friend and menace Quinn Thomas. The trio explores a nearby schmancy neighborhood, with cats and questionable garden art.
In Cream House, White Trim's second episode, Liam and Sabina explore uncharted sectors of their neighborhood, debating the qualities of a "normal" house, and squabbling about hedges. Featuring failed insults, lots of opportunity for murals, and some exceptionally ugly stairs.
In the first episode, Liam and Sabina awkwardly introduce themselves, complain, bicker, giggle, and hang out with various elements of natural life, such as crows, chainsaws, and garbage trucks. Oh, and houses, too. They talk about houses!
