Simply Convivial: Organization & Mindset for Home & Homeschool
Overwhelm isn't caused by how much you have to do. It's caused by perfectionism. If you constantly feel behind, discouraged, or frozen when you look at your home, this video explains why. The problem isn't your schedule, your kids, or your to-do list. It's the unrealistic standards you're measuring your real life against. In this video, I explain• why a full life is not the same thing as an overwhelming life• how perfectionism creates paralysis, procrastination, and burnout• why planning and organizing often make overwhelm worse• how perfectionism fuels the boom and bust cycle so many moms experienceOnce you can identify perfectionism at work, you can start undoing it.If you want a simple way to begin letting go of perfectionism, I'll send you my free Smile & Start Challenge by email. You'll get three short, practical emails that help you take small steps instead of chasing perfect plans.
Simply Convivial: Organization & Mindset for Home & Homeschool
Overwhelmed by all there is to do at home? If you feel like you're failing at managing your home, ask yourself this first: what standard are you judging yourself against? For many homemakers, discouragement doesn't come from real life. It comes from comparing their homes to idealized images on Instagram and YouTube. Soft music. White farmhouses. Perfect routines. No interruptions. No mess. No real work. That picture is not the goal—and it was never meant to be.In this video, I explain how perfectionism sabotages your attempts to get organized and why so many systems fail before they even begin. The problem isn't your effort or your desire to be responsible. The problem is trying to live up to a false standard that doesn't match real family life. You'll learn• how perfectionism hides behind “high standards” and good intentions• why planning and organizing often turn into avoidance• how perfectionism creates the boom-and-bust cycle• why baby steps are the only way out of overwhelm• how 10 minutes of real action beats perfect plans every timeReal progress in homemaking comes through steady, incremental improvement—not flawless execution or aesthetic ideals. If you want help getting started, I have a free Smile & Start Challenge that delivers three simple baby steps by email over three days.
Simply Convivial: Organization & Mindset for Home & Homeschool
If systems alone could fix overwhelm, you wouldn't still feel overwhelmed.By the time most homemakers find this video, they've already tried planners, routines, schedules, and organizing systems. The problem isn't that those systems failed. The problem is that systems were never meant to be the starting point. In this episode, I explain the mindset shift that actually dissolves overwhelm: moving from perfectionism and control to stewardship and faithfulness. You'll learn• why perfectionism looks productive but leads to procrastination and burnout• the difference between control and stewardship in homemaking• why faithful action today matters more than ideal conditions tomorrow• how iteration replaces guilt with growth• why small, incremental steps expand your capacity over timeOverwhelm grows when you measure yourself against an imagined future version of your life. Peace grows when you steward what's right in front of you with humility, faithfulness, and patience. This video introduces iteration—the practice of making small changes, evaluating what's working, and building forward over time. It's the opposite of chasing perfect plans, and it's how real progress is made in real homes. If you want help practicing this mindset, my free Smile & Start Challenge will give you daily encouragement and simple, incremental steps by email.
It is December 28th—that strange gap between Christmas and New Year. Let me ask you a question: How many times have you looked at your phone already today?.It is easy to open an app and see the "highlight reel" of everyone else's life—the matching pajamas, the immaculate tables, and those perfect smiles. This constant scrolling creates a trap of comparison, making you feel like your holiday wasn't enough or that you didn't do enough. This is "digital noise"—a low-level static buzzing in the back of your brain and stealing your joy.In today's session, Martin (Clinical Hypnotherapist) guides you through a powerful Digital Detox Visualization. We won't throw your phone in a river, but we will take your mind to a place where the signal cannot reach you.In this episode, you will:Unplug the Mental Router: Visualize placing your phone face down on a hallway table and pulling the plug on your Wi-Fi router to stop the frantic blinking lights.Escape to the Wild: Step out of your back door and into an ancient, deep forest where the trees reach up like pillars of a cathedral.Experience Biophilic Sound: Learn how natural sounds—like the rustle of wind and the snap of a twig—soothe the brain instantly.Watch the Signal Drop: Visualize the signal bars on your internal phone dropping from three, to two, to one, until you have "no service" and are completely free.Find What is Real: Realize that pixels on a screen are not real, but the breath in your lungs and the ground beneath your feet are.Your life, with all its messiness and imperfections, is real and valid. You do not need to perform for an audience; you just need to be.A Note from Martin: "Discard those negative anchors that have ever held you back, embrace your true potential.".Connect & Support: If this escape helped you find peace, please subscribe to Calming Anxiety.Next Step: When you open your eyes, try not to reach for the screen immediately—look at something real, like the sky or your hands.Smile often, and be kind.

The discussion begins with a deep dive into Apple Vision Pro, focusing on whether the new M5 model is a worthwhile upgrade, who it's really for, and whether Vision Pro should be viewed as a finished product, an emerging platform, or a preview of Apple's long-term spatial computing vision. The panel explores developer adoption, enterprise use cases, and why meaningful spatial productivity apps may take years to fully materialize. The conversation then shifts to software, including impressions of the iOS 26.3 beta, particularly changes driven by EU regulations and continued refinements across Apple's platforms. Attention turns to the iPhone 17 lineup, where incremental updates, battery life improvements, camera enhancements, USB-C workflows, and vapor cooling spark debate about whether upgrading is worth it year over year. From there, the panel revisits the ongoing question of whether the iPad can truly replace a laptop, acknowledging its powerful hardware while noting ongoing limitations in iPadOS. The discussion continues with Apple's Mac lineup, highlighting macOS Tahoe as the final release to support Intel Macs and reflecting on how Apple Silicon has reshaped performance, battery life, and upgrade cycles. Security also enters the spotlight with a discussion on a recent malware case that bypassed macOS Gatekeeper, reinforcing the importance of user awareness despite Apple's protections. The episode wraps with a lighter but thoughtful look at ChatGPT's new year-end summary feature, comparing it to services like Spotify Wrapped and reflecting on how AI tools are becoming increasingly personal in daily workflows. The episode closes with final thoughts on Apple's 2025 trajectory, community engagement, and what lies ahead as the calendar turns toward 2026. Every New Year is a chance to begin gently, not perfectly.
This month, Sitting in the Dark smiles politely, locks the door, and then asks you to reconsider every coping mechanism you've ever trusted. Tommy Metz III is joined by filmmaker Chelsea Stardust and Pete Wright to excavate the uneasy trilogy formed by Smile, Smile 2, and the short-film patient zero, Laura Hasn't Slept, all courtesy of writer-director Parker Finn—a man who looked at the concept of healing and said, “Yes, but what if absolutely not.”The conversation begins with Laura Hasn't Slept, a short film so assured it feels like a résumé quietly slid across the table while maintaining unsettling eye contact. Therapy, dreams, and sleep deprivation collide in a space that should feel safe and instead feels like a trapdoor with a co-pay. The group wrestles with the idea that this story may not be a beginning at all, but a closed loop—what it looks like once the monster has already moved in and started redecorating. From there, the episode moves into Smile, a film that takes the metaphor of trauma and strips away subtlety. It's tired of pretending this is going to end well. Broken promises pile up. Authority figures fail spectacularly. “Safe space” becomes an ironic term at best. The panel digs into the film's clinical color palette, its fixation on mirrors, and its unrelenting thesis: awareness is not protection, healing is not guaranteed, and sometimes the best you can do is not make things worse for the next person. Then Smile 2 kicks the door off its hinges. By shifting the curse to a global pop star, the sequel swaps quiet dread for public spectacle without sacrificing cruelty. Addiction, celebrity, parasocial obsession, and relentless visibility all become accelerants, pushing the franchise into its most confident—and most punishing—form. Naomi Scott's Skye Riley is surrounded by people at all times and still utterly alone, a neat trick the film performs while tightening the noose.Across all three entries, the episode circles the same bleak conclusion: these movies aren't interested in defeating trauma. They're interested in how efficiently it spreads, how convincingly it blends in, and how easily it convinces you that you're doing just fine. Smile for the camera.

Is "White Noise" too harsh for you? Does your brain feel like it's constantly vibrating with stress or ADHD chatter? In this episode of Calming Anxiety, we step away from the silence and tune into Green Noise—the specific sound frequency of nature.Unlike the static of white noise, Green Noise sits in the mid-frequency range (like wind in heavy trees or a rushing river), which research suggests is the "Goldilocks" zone for the human nervous system.Whether you need 10 minutes to hack your focus for deep work or you need to "wash" your brain of anxiety before bed, this guided "Forest Bathing" session is your reset button. In this session, we will covers:The Green Frequency: Why your nervous system prefers the sound of wind and water over pure silence.Virtual Forest Bathing: A guided visualization to transport you from your desk (or bed) to an ancient, cool forest. The "Stream" Technique: How to visualize your racing thoughts flowing away like water over smooth stones.Somatic Safety: Using sound vibration to tell your body, "You are safe now."
Episode Notes On this week's episode of Orange Juice Optional, Suzanne and Michelle are leaning into the spirit of the season with a warm, honest, and sometimes awkward conversation about Christmas. We begin the episode, sharing a little about our own Christmas traditions and what the holidays look like for us this year. From there, the conversation turns to something nearly everyone can relate to: awkward family social situations. From uncomfortable questions to surprising opinions, we explore the moments that tend to surface during the holiday season. This episode is a gentle reminder that Christmas doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful. Family dynamics, social expectations, and unexpected conversations are all part of the season—and sometimes the best thing we can do is laugh, sip our drink, and give ourselves a little grace. So grab your favorite holiday beverage (the orange juice remains optiona), settle in, and join us for a Christmas conversation that feels real, relatable, and full of heart. Hello, hello — and welcome back to Greedy Bitch, the podcast for groomers who are done apologizing for wanting more. I'm your host, River Lee, founder of The Savvy Groomer — and if you're new here, this show is where we talk about the real side of running a grooming business: the money, the mindset, and the messy middle that no one warns you about. And today, whew… we're talking about the holiday emotional hangover — managing people when you're running on empty. December isn't just busy. It's emotionally contagious. Everyone's buzzing, frazzled, sugar-crashing — and you're the one trying to keep it all together. So grab your coffee, or maybe that third peppermint mocha, and let's talk about what happens when your clients' emotions start colliding with your own — and how to calm the storm without losing your mind. Alright, let's just call it what it is — December has big energy. Everyone's rushing, panicking, over-spending, over-promising, and under-resting. And guess who they bring that energy to? You. It's like being the emotional barista for the entire town. They come in steaming, foaming at the top, and expect you to serve them calm in a to-go cup. I call it emotional glitter — because it gets everywhere. You think you've brushed it off, but nope — it's on your schedule, your inbox, your mood, your poor bather who just wanted to eat their sandwich in peace. Picture this: A client bursts through your door — breathless, late, apologizing — “Oh my god, I'm so sorry, traffic was crazy, I had to fight three people at Target for a Squishmallow, the kids are screaming, the tree fell over…” And before you even realize it, you're vibrating at a 9 out of 10 and you haven't even touched a dog yet. That's what I mean when I say December is emotionally contagious. You can pick up someone else's stress faster than dog hair on a clean pair of black leggings. Now here's the first truth I need you to remember:

Welcome to Glenn Robison's Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can't not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and '30s. Can you guess the subject of this photograph? It was taken around 1945 and is the mirror of the 200 Inch Hale Telescope at Palomar Observatory being ground and polished. At the time it was the world’s largest telescope. You’ll learn some interesting facts about the telescope and the mirror in the fourth segment of this week’s show and hear some “reflective” records. In other segments, we’ll celebrate the birthdays of Stella Unger and Abe Olman. We’ll also have a bovine segment, and hear more from and about Grandpa Bob Effros. There's lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience. THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW! Discograffiti is the deep-dive podcast for music obsessives. In this episode, we feature the next entry in The Chuck Granata Pet Sounds Interview Series. Chuck and legendary bassist Carol Kaye are close friends, so this exceptional interview goes incredibly deep in its search for the truth. Carol is one of the most prolific bass guitarists in rock and pop music, playing on an estimated 10,000 recordings during a career spanning over 65 years. She actually started doing session work in 1957 on guitar, and after a bassist failed to turn up to a session in 1963, she switched to that instrument, quickly making a name for herself as one of the most in-demand session players of the 1960s. She's appeared on sessions by Frank Sinatra, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and The Monkees. The intro on Glen Campbell's “Wichita Lineman”? She came up with that. Of course, that's also Carol plucking away on The Beach Boys albums Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), Pet Sounds, and Smile. Most famously, Kaye's bass lines are the driving force behind “Good Vibrations”, one of her many number 1 hits. Here's just a few of the many things that Carol discusses with Discograffiti in this podcast: The truth about Mike Love; The first time she crossed paths with Brian Wilson; Working with Murry Wilson; The three times that Carol had Brian and Marilyn over to her house. There'll be a short sneak peak running publicly for free, but the entirety of this podcast will only be accessible on the Major Tier of Discograffiti's Patreon. If you'd like to buy Electric Friends merch including stickers, T-shirts, mugs and more, please head to https://electric-friends.printify.me/In this episode I dive into one of the most unexpected Gary Numan surprises of recent years — the release of Like a B-Film, a previously unheard Telekon-era demo that suddenly appeared via the 45th anniversary re-issue.I explain how the track appeared almost out of nowhere. Very quickly, it became clear this was genuine: raw 1980 synth textures, unfinished edges, and Gary's unmistakable vocal — a time capsule suddenly dropped into the present. The episode looks closely at the lyric sheet shared by fans online, lines that shrink humanity into “little pictures,” reference “B-films” and deadened media culture, and land on stark declarations like we are broken, we are shattered, we are glass. I discuss how the imagery hints at emotional numbness, voyeurism and disconnection — themes that would later define tracks like I Dream of Wires and Remind Me to Smile. We also hear Gary himself address the track at Hammersmith — admitting he doesn't remember writing it, joking that it probably didn't make the album “because it's happy,” and marvelling at Beggars Banquet uncovering a demo he'd forgotten. The episode includes reactions from fans comparing the sound to John Foxx, celebrating the synth tones, and debating whether it ever would have sat comfortably on Telekon — or whether saving it has made the surprise even sweeter.I also preview other demos on the anniversary release, and reflect on why unheard material still excites Numan fans after four decades.

ArTEEtude. West Cork´s first Art, Fashion & Design Podcast by Detlef Schlich.
With satire and tenderness, they move through summer snowmen in discount aisles and the uncanny moment when a Christmas song in Lidl seems to narrate the shopping experience in real time — a festive loop of: Scan. Beep. Smile. Repeat.Beneath the humor, the episode asks what remains human when meaning is constantly being packaged. The answer is quiet and radical: presence, boundaries, and off-screen gestures that don't scale. The episode closes with gratitude and a musical gift: WAW — “Silent Night (Reimagined)”, following a recent #1 spot on The Cork's Playlist (third Advent week). Thanks to Neill and to everyone listening, sharing, and supporting this non-profit podcast.Detlef Schlich is a rock musician, podcaster, visual artist, filmmaker, ritual designer, and media archaeologist based in West Cork. He is recognised for his seminal work, including a scholarly examination of the intersections between shamanism, art, and digital culture, and his acclaimed video installation, Transodin's Tragedy. He primarily works in performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. In his work, he reflects on the human condition and uses the digital shaman's methodology as an alter ego to create artwork. His media archaeology is a conceptual and practical exercise in uncovering the unique aesthetic, cultural, and political aspects of media in culture.WEBSITE LINKS WAW Official YouTube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/@WAWBand"The Niles Bittersweet Song" WAW BandcampSilent NightIn a world shadowed by conflict and unrest, we, Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlich, felt compelled to reinterpret 'Silent Night' to reflect the complexities and contradictions of modern life.https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/silent-nightWild Atlantic WayThis results from a trip to West Cork, Ireland, where the beautiful Coastal "Wild Atlantic Way" reaches along the whole west coast!https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/wild-atlantic-wayYOU TUBE*Silent Night Reimagined* A Multilayered Avant-Garde Journey by WAW aka Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlichhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAbytLSfgCwDetlef SchlichInstagramDetlef Schlich ArTEEtude I love West Cork Artists FacebookDetlef Schlich I love West Cork Artists Group ArTEEtudeYouTube Channelsvisual PodcastArTEEtudeCute Alien TV official WebsiteArTEEtude Detlef Schlich Det Design Tribal Loop Download here for free Detlef Schlich´s Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culturehttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/303749640_Shamanism_Art_and_Digital_Culture_Cause_and_EffectSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/arteetude-a-podcast-with-artists-by-detlef-schlich/donations

You can explore the table of contents and let your intuition guide you to the chapter that holds the medicine you need in this moment. Each chapter concludes with a key takeaway—something practical you can implement today to start creating change in your life.In This Episode, You'll Hear From:Seth shares his framework for resilience, reminding us that "resilience isn't just enduring hardship, it's thriving through it." He offers practical tools including the six levels of awareness, the SMILE method, and the GRACE method.Teresa invites us into the frequency of love, exploring what it means to live with unwavering character and deep connection to yourself and source.Greg, a nurse anesthetist, breaks down the stigma around ketamine for mental health, sharing how this medicine is available, often covered by insurance, and can be life-changing for those struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.Patricia, a nurse with 60 years of experience, offers a compassionate perspective on dying well. She reminds us that people don't stop living because they're dying, and shares how we can honor dignity and choice in the final phase of life.Dr. Erica provides an accessible introduction to Chinese medicine, offering self-care essentials and inviting us to attune ourselves to the seasons and the wisdom of this ancient holistic system.Dr. Burton, a neurologist, explores psychedelics as therapeutics, challenging the Schedule 1 designation and revealing the science and magic behind these medicines for mental health and neurological conditions.Brida guides us into soul-led living, exploring how our beliefs create our reality and how changing those beliefs at the deepest level can transform our entire lives.Dr. Charmin empowers us with naturopathic medicine, showing us that there are always options beyond the conventional approach and helping us understand the difference between normal lab ranges and optimized health.Jim opens the door to healing trauma, sharing how understanding the way we create our experience can transform even the deepest wounds and reveal the possibility of an amazing life.Chandra, the book's creator, shares two chapters: one on rewiring our relationship with food and another on welcoming ourselves home to our body's wisdom and rebuilding trust with our internal signals. Why This Book Matters:Personal growth can sometimes feel overwhelming or inaccessible. Static-X is not only of of the most iconic Nu Metal bands of all time, but they're one of my favorite heavy bands of all time. Their debut Wisconsin Death Trip is now regarded as a stone cold classic of Nu Metal and an album ahead of its time. Today, Static-X bassist Tony Campos sat down with me on Psychic Warfare to speak on some of the memories of the making and touring of that album that make him smile, whether the hand of fate guided Static-X's career trajectory, and the lost art of just following your feet. Sam's had a big year and now he gives Matt and all the listeners his top 12 songs of 2025!We open with punchy rock and bass-heavy pop, shift into raw confessionals, and close with orchestral EDM that practically lifts you out of your seat. The throughline is contrast: songs that hype you up, songs that make you think, and songs that do both without breaking a sweat. We kick off with Wet Leg's sharp-tongued ode to overcrowded city life and swing into Blackpink's high-gloss momentum, built for big speakers and bigger moods. From there, NF's “Fear” brings unfiltered honesty about relapse into anxiety, while King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard bend genres with big band brass and 70s sparkle. Logic's “Not a Game,” elevated by Lucy Rose's airy hook, threads grit with grace; AJR's “The Big Goodbye” hooks you with an auctioneer loop and a look back at what you leave behind when you chase a dream. The mid-list heat spikes with Lindsay Stirling and Shuba's “Evil Twin,” a violin-meets-EDM surge that belongs on every pre-run playlist, then deepens with Florence and the Machine's “Witch Dance,” a visceral reflection on mortality and power. Jenny's “Like Jenny” delivers chorus-first pop engineered for pure joy, while Maiah Manser's “With a Smile” introduces siren-core chills over a sleek electronic bed. Lil Wayne's “Welcome to Tha Carter” blends choir, sample wizardry, and razor wit, asking whether we ever pause to savor heaven after clawing through hell. We close with “Lazarus Rise,” a cinematic ascent from haunted piano to full orchestral thunder—a reminder that genre walls are meant to be climbed.Subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a five-star review to help more music lovers find the show.https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/sams-best-of-2025/pl.u-dok7jCBkWPg6Catch these fists – Wet Leg Jump – Blackpink Fear – NF Phantom Island – King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Not a Game – Logic featuring Lucy Rose The Big Goodbye – AJR Evil Twin – Lindsey Stirling featuring Shuba Witch Dance – Florence and the Machine Like Jennie – Jennie With a Smile – Maiah Manser Welcome to Tha Carter – Lil Wayne Lazarus Rise – Wasiu & Apache Support the showVisit us at https://www.superawesomemix.com to learn more about our app, our merchandise, our cards, and more!
In this edition of the Courage Brands Spotlight, Ryan, Billy Collins, and Kimberly Voorhis unpack three brands that turned overlooked moments into loyal movements. Ryan kicks things off with Goldbelly, the mail-order marketplace delivering regional food favorites nationwide—think deep-dish from Chicago or crab cakes from Maryland. Kimberly sings the praises of Trader Joe's, a grocery chain that proves simplicity is courageous, where decision fatigue fades, handwritten signs spark delight, and hidden monkeys keep kids smiling. Billy closes with Scrub Daddy, the Shark Tank sponge that scrubbed away boredom and built a half-billion-dollar empire with flex-texture tech, irreverent TikTok humor, and holiday-themed clean-up companions. These brands may serve very different needs, but each one earns its place through conviction, creativity, and the courage to make everyday things feel a little more magical.
