It started as a simple daily voice note of faith and encouragement to a few people in Lagos, Nigeria when the COVID 19 pandemic hit the state. Now evolved into a NEW DAILY EXPERIENCE to multitudes around the world...
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Sunday 22nd June The Frustrations with Prayers 7We've been exploring the frustration that people experience in the place of prayer, especially when it seems God isn't answering. But note this: any prayer God hears, He answers. The issue often lies in what blocks Him from hearing; things like sin, emotional burdens and prayers that are out of line with the will of God.We usually say, “prayer changes things.” That's true, but the first thing prayer changes is you. Consider Hannah, before prayer changed her situation, prayer changed her. Her countenance lifted after prayer—even before she conceived. Likewise, if prayer doesn't transform you, it may not transform your situation. God is more interested in shaping who you become than simply fixing what's around you. When we don't understand this dimension to prayer, God can answer and you miss it.2 Corinthians 12:8–10 (GNB), “Three times I prayed to the Lord about this and asked him to take it away. But His answer was: ‘My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.' I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me. I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.Paul was praying about a situation and he thought that God didn't answer him because he was praying that God should change his situation. When God answered, He didn't change the situation, He gave Paul a revelation that changed his perspective and strengthened him through the situation.Sometimes when we feel unheard, it may not be that God didn't answer, you might have missed His answer. You might be asking for a change of situation but He gives you a revelation that the application will change the situation. Settle it in your heart, God is not hold out against you. Examine your life continuously align with the will of God and watch the frustrations in prayers fade away. God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleTuesday 17th JuneThe Frustrations With Prayer 2Many believers face a quiet but real struggle with prayer. Most people will not like to discuss or admit this frustration openly but the truth is that, even the disciples of Jesus experienced this frustration. In Luke 11, they asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray,” not because they didn't know how to pray, but because their prayers weren't producing results. They saw Jesus praying with passion, power and getting results, and they wanted to experience the same. This is a reality for many today. People pray, fast, and cry out to God, yet feel unheard. This is the same feeling Gideon had in Judges 6 when he asked, “If God is with us, why have all these bad things happened?” He, too, was frustrated with prayer and felt abandoned by God.Prayer, like any communication, can become frustrating when it feels one-sided. Just as we sometimes struggle to communicate with loved ones, we may also struggle to connect with God. But that doesn't mean He's distant or uninterested, nor is He the cause of our frustrations.James 4:1–3 (CEV), Why do you fight and argue with each other? Isn't it because you are full of selfish desires that fight to control your body? 2 You want something you don't have, and you will do anything to get it. You will even kill! But you still cannot get what you want, and you won't get it by fighting and arguing. You should pray for it. 3 Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons. The frustrations experienced in the place of prayer is not necessarily because of sin, it could be because of a lack of understanding or wrong motives. God longs to answer us. Jeremiah 33:3, He says, “Call to me and I will answer you...”So, if you're feeling stuck in prayer, don't give up. Ask God to show you what you don't yet understand. Prayer was never meant to be frustrating—it's meant to be a place of victory and communion.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleMonday, 16th JuneThe Frustrations with Prayers 1In our earlier discussions, we explored Jesus' model for prayer. Now, we turn to a common but often unspoken issue—The Frustration with prayer. Many believers sincerely want to pray and have much to say to God, yet their experience feels dry, ineffective, or even pointless. They've had to deal with years of unanswered prayers that it's now become discouraging to pray. While others may say, “prayer is the master key,” those facing unanswered prayers often wonder, “Where is that key?” The truth is, prayer is part of a system in kingdom of God; it's not a magic wishlist that we pull out and God is compelled to answer. To expect results, we must understand God's structure for prayer or we'll be disappointed.James 4:1-3 (CEV) explains why some prayers go unanswered, verse 3 says, "You should pray for it. Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons."This gives a critical insight—prayer doesn't work in isolation. God doesn't ignore prayers, but He responds to those aligned with His will and ways. The Bible assures us that God's hand is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. The real issue is often a disconnect caused by sin or selfish motives. So, when we pray, we must look beyond the words we speak. Our relationships with others, the condition of our hearts, and our alignment with God's principles all influence the effectiveness of our prayers. Prayer involves more than asking—it requires humility, purity, and sincere connection with God and others. As we continue this series, we'll explore key factors that hinder prayer and how to overcome them. The goal is not just to pray more, but to pray effectively. God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleSunday, 15th JunePrayers 15In Luke 11, Jesus taught His disciples a model prayer covering five key areas. We've been discussing the fifth one: the prayer of protection.Job 5:6, 6-8 NKJV, 6For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble spring from the ground; But evil does not spring from the soil, and trouble does not sprout from the earth. 7 People are born for trouble as readily as sparks fly up from a fire. 8 “If I were you, I would go to God and present my case to him.In this fallen world, trouble is inevitable—just like sparks fly from a fire. It comes uninvited, without warning or cause. Yet, the best response is to turn to God and seek His help.Jesus emphasized this in Luke 11:4 BTPT “Rescue us from every time of tribulation”. The KJV says, “Deliver us from evil.” Evil is a daily reality, and God invites us to bring our concerns to Him. The Bible assures us that God has commanded His angels to guard us in all our ways (Ps 91). But we must actively ask daily and in faith.Present your case before God. Commit your life, your plans, and your path into His hands. Ask for protection not out of fear, but out of trust in His care. God desires to keep us safe, but He wants us to seek Him first. Asking shows our dependence on Him, and He responds to faith-filled prayers.Remember, none of these 5 areas of prayer stands alone. As we pray for His protection, forgive others and keep your heart clear of offense. Honor God in your prayers, seek His will, and exalt His name. When you've touched these 5 areas, you've touched the major areas of concern in most people's lives.Remember, even though God knows your needs, He still wants you to ask. “Ask, and it shall be given to you” (Matthew 7:7). Don't treat prayer as a religious duty, but as a daily connection to God's help and strength.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleThursday, 12th June Prayer 12In Jesus' model prayer to His disciples, five key elements are highlighted: the Person of God, His Purpose, His Provision, His Pardon, and His Protection. Today, we focus on God's pardon—His forgiveness.Forgiveness is essential in the place of prayer. When Jesus prayed, He spoke to with a Person He had a personal love relationship with, He addressed Himas “Our Father.” This relationship, however, can be strained by sin. Just as no meaningful relationship can thrive without forgiveness, our walk with God depends on our willingness to receive and extend pardon.Luke 11:4 (TPT),"Forgive our sins as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us."KJV says: “And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.”We must forgive because we have first received forgiveness from God. Our relationship with God happens on two platforms. • Vertical (between us and God)• Horizontal (between us and others)Human relationships many times come with offense, so learning to forgive is non-negotiable. If God, Who is perfect, forgives us, we must also forgive others. Holding on to bitterness or resentment creates a barrier in our prayer life. Jesus even said if you're offering a gift at the altar and remember a conflict, you should settle it first. (Matt.5:23-24)We cannot maintain a healthy relationship with God while holding unforgiveness toward people. Unresolved bitterness disrupts our spiritual connection. Releasing others is not just about peace with them; it's about power in prayer. To pray effectively, we must forgive sincerely. Forgiveness frees us, heals relationships, and allows God's grace to flow freely. It elevates our prayer life and strengthens our spiritual walk. Is there someone you need to forgive today? Release them in prayer. As you walk in forgiveness, your relationship with will God deepen, and your prayers gain new power and clarity.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleTuesday, 10th JunePrayer 10We are considering another key themes in Jesus' model of prayer—God's provision. Our daily needs are vital to life, and God is deeply interested in meeting them. One of His names, El-Shaddai (God the heavily-breasted one, the one that is all sufficient), symbolising His nurturing and sustaining nature, much like a mother caring for her child. God is our provider, and we must relate to Him as such.In Matthew 6, Jesus discusses fasting, giving, and prayer. After teaching what's popularly called the Lord's Prayer, He addresses the anxiety people have about their daily needs—food, drink, and clothing, the dynamics of worry and money! In verse 32, He explains that unbelievers worry about these things, but our Heavenly Father knows we need them. This truth should be firmly rooted in our hearts.Luke 11:3 (TPT) , “And give us our needed bread for the coming day.”KJV says, “Give us this day our daily bread.”Though God already knows our needs, He still wants us to ask. He doesn't want His children burdened with anxiety or fear about daily survival. Instead, He invites us to approach Him confidently. God is never tired of our requests—it's part of our relationship with Him. Worry not only disrupts our peace but also affects our connection with God.So, God is saying: Come to Me with your needs. I am your Provider, and I am willing to supply. Receive this invitation in faith, and let it guide your prayer life today.God bless you. Enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleFriday 30th MayThe works of Faith Part 5The works of faith can be seen in the everyday activities of your life — the everyday decisions and responses. God expects us, as believers, to do everything — our living, sleeping, waking, working — by the power of faith.Faith is not meant to be a spare tyte we pull out in times of crisis, or something we only use for big projects. Faith is supposed to be a constant part of our daily lives. That's the beauty of living by faith: is your conviction of the reality of God in everything we do and say, based on His Word. Your daily response to God's word — that's faith. The more you live tby faith , the more your consciousness of God's presence grows. So when you require faith for “big things” it's not a struggle, because you've been walking by faith everyday. But when we neglect to walk by faith in the everyday things, we struggle when the big things come. One thing Jesus and Apostle Paul both emphasized over and over is this: the believer's life must be lived entirely by faith.Galatians 2:20 (TPT), “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives. For the nails of His cross crucified me with Him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives His life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that He gave Himself for me and dispenses His life into mine.”Paul is saying, “I died with Christ. The life I live now is Christ's life flowing through me.” Our role is to yield and tallow His faith to work through us. That's what the walk of faith is all about. But here's the challenge: many of us don't want to let Christ live through us. We don't want to let Him love through us. Remember the old phrase: WWJD — What Would Jesus Do?Every day we're faced with choices. We know what Jesus wants us to do, but our flesh wants to do something else. That's where the struggle lies.Live out your faith everyday, torgive, love, soeak kindly, give, resist fear, overcome anxiety. Let go of worry, etc. These are things you do everyday. That's what the works of faith is all about, yielding to Jesus every single day.I pray that God gives you the strength, grace, and boldness to live out your faith daily.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Thursday 29th MayThe Works of Faith 4We can't over emphasis the fact that faith isn't just about the spectacular miracles or powerful moments, this is the misconception that makes the life of faith a frustrating experience for many believers. Faith is really about the everyday actions we take as believers in response to God's Word. When we talk about the "works of faith," it also means the works of faith we live out in our daily life. It's not just about extraordinary feats, but the simple, consistent acts of living that are rooted in our trust in God. Waking up, going to sleep, eating, walking, speaking, loving your neighbours—all these should be done in faith. The Bible says, "The just shall live by faith"—a message echoed in Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews. This means that for every moment we are alive, especially as believers, we are called to live by faith. Faith isn't an event; it's a lifestyle. Every aspect of our existence should be shaped and sustained by our faith in God.Acts 17:28 TPT, " It is through him that we live and function and have our identity..."Paul had a good understanding of the fact that our faith in God is to drive everything that idenfies us as believers. In Galatians 2:20 he said, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."This reveals that our life, in all its parts, is meant to be lived by faith in Christ. One of the many reasons why we must live by faith aside from the fact that we can't please God without it is because "...the whole world lies under the influence of evil."(1 John 5:19). But when we live with a consciousness of faith, we bring God into every situation. Faith puts God in the centre of our actions and decisions, giving us the strength to overcome challenges.I pray in the name of Jesus that you walk in this understanding, living a life full of faith and grace.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Wednesday 28th May The Works of Faith 3As followers of Jesus, we must understand that faith is not only for spectacular miracles —though those are part of what faith can accomplish. It's about living life in line with God's Word in everything, small and great everyday. The Bible says, “The just shall live by faith.” That means faith isn't something we turn to only in crisis or for big breakthroughs; it's something we're called to practice daily, in every area of life.Faith should guide everything we do—our thoughts, actions, decisions, and even how we eat or rest. Romans 14:23B (TPT), “For anything we do that doesn't spring from faith is, by definition, sinful."That's a powerful statement. It means anything we do that doesn't stem from our conviction in God is sinful. Faith must be at the core of our lives—not as an occasional spiritual exercise, but as a daily lifestyle. The faith that moves mountains begins with the faith that moves you in the small things. If your faith doesn't move you to forgive, to love, to serve, or to believe in the ordinary moments, it won't move mountains either. We must build a faith consciousness—a mindset and heart posture that depends on God in everything. As we live with that awareness, our faith grows stronger and more active.God calls us to walk by faith every single day, not just during the highs or lows. True faith shows up in how we treat others, how we handle challenges, how we think, speak, and live. The works of your life should be works of faith.I pray in the name of Jesus that God gives you the strength and grace to build this faith-conscious into your lifestyle. May everything you do reflect a life rooted in faith, and may your faith grow until it becomes the kind that truly moves mountains.God bless you, enjoy your day!!
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleTuesday, 27th MayThe Works of Faith 2Faith isn't only for miracles or crises time—it's for everyday living. While faith can move mountains, heal the sick, and bring divine provision, its true strength is built through our daily life: in our choices, thoughts, relationships, and habits.Scripture emphasizes this repeatedly with the phrase, “The just shall live by faith,” found in Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, and Hebrews 10:38.This isn't a suggestion but a divine mandate. If you've been redeemed by Christ, faith should be your constant way of life—not something to pull out only in emergencies.Faith is for walking, loving, forgiving, and living. It's not occasional use; it's for daily living. As you apply faith daily, it becomes stronger. That way, when major challenges arise, your faith is already active and built up.Today, as we celebrate Children's Day, remember that even children can live by faith. Paul commended Timothy's sincere faith, which was passed down from his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice. This generational faith is vital. We must model and teach faith to our children from an early age—how to trust God and live according to His Word.Faith isn't a one-time act or a special event—it's a daily lifestyle. Raising children in an environment where faith is lived and taught ensures a generation that will walk in victory.May God's grace and strength empower you to live by faith every day—in both small and significant matters in Jesus' Name, AmenGod bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleMonday 26th MayThe Works of Faith – Part 1All this month, we've been discussing faith—its foundation, how it comes, what feeds and drains it. As conclude, we want to discuss the works of faith—how faith is expressed in action. When we think of faith at work, our minds often jump to the spectacular: healing the sick, raising the dead or major breakthroughs. These are indeed powerful displays, and Hebrews 11 talks about some of those things. However, faith is not only meant for spectacular events. God gave us faith for daily living. It's not just for miracles—it's for how we work, live, speak, decide, and relate every single day.Habakkuk 2:2–4 (NKJV), 2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision. And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. 4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.“The just shall live by his faith.” This powerful truth appears four times in the Bible—in Habakkuk, Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews—emphasizing its importance. Faith isn't a one-time act; it's a lifestyle. To live by faith means to trust and obey God in every area of life. It's about living in line with His Word in every situation. The proud live on their own terms and fall away. Scripture also tells us that “whatever is not of faith is sin.” This means our actions, big or small, must be rooted in faith. Real works of faith aren't just public miracles—they are found in private simple obedience of everyday life. This is where the true work of faith really starts.God bless you, enjoy your day!
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Sunday 25th May Faith Feeders and Faith Drainers 7We're continuing our discussion on what builds and what drains our faith. So far, we've explored key faith-builders: love, the power of testimonies and the right association—each of these strengthens our spiritual journey. Now, we turn to a subtle but serious faith-drainer: unforgiveness and offense. In Matthew 5:23–24 (TPT), Jesus says if you remember a conflict while offering a gift to God, first make peace, then return to worship. This highlights how unresolved issues can hinder our connection with God. Offense and unforgiveness are heart issues. Though hidden, they quietly sabotage our faith. Outward actions may appear spiritual, but inward bitterness creates a slow leak, draining faith and hindering results.Jesus' command to prioritize reconciliation shows how seriously God views unforgiveness. Offense blocks the flow of His presence, power, and answers to prayer.Consider John the Baptist. He once boldly declared Jesus as the Lamb of God, witnessed the Spirit descend on Him, and had no doubts. But later, in prison and facing disappointment, he questioned Jesus' identity (Matthew 11). Jesus affirmed who He was but added, “Blessed is the one who is not offended because of Me.” This gentle correction revealed how offense had begun to cloud John's sense of judgement.Offense distorts vision, opens the door to doubt, and shuts down prayer effectiveness. That's why it must be addressed urgently.Forgiveness is not about excusing wrongs—it's about freedom. When you forgive, you choose not to let past wounds control your faith, emotions, or future. Holding onto offense may feel justified, but it harms you more than anyone else.To grow in faith, you must release offense and choose forgiveness. Let your heart stay light and open to God and people.I pray today that God grants you the grace to forgive and the strength to live free from offense in Jesus' Name.God bless you, enjoy your day.
