This episode is part eight in an ongoing series about brands and how they influence our identities and drive consumerism. In this episode, we will talk about how the price we are willing to pay for an item is directly related to branding:Why "perceived value" is almost more important than mathing the math,How brands manipulate the perceived value via small changes to products, Why even the graphic design of a brand's website will change your expectations around pricing,How you often guess the prices in a store just by looking at the merchandising and fixtures,And why we have to stop expecting small business prices to align with fast fashion/fast everything pricing.Add your address to get a postcard.Get your Clotheshorse merch here: https://clotheshorsepodcast.com/shop/For the next month, use promo code THEPRICEISRIGHT to get 50% off all merch! Going for your first manager-level role can feel like a whole different sport. Suddenly it's less about your individual output and more about leadership, dealing with people problems and judgement. In Part 1 of this two-part series, Sarah and Emma unpack the mindset shift you need when applying for your first leadership role. We discuss the fear of not feeling “ready,” why trying to fake management experience almost always backfires, and how employers actually think about potential vs experience. If you've ever worried that not having the title automatically rules you out, this episode is for you.In the next episode (Part 2) we'll get practical with leadership-focused interview questions and how to answer them. But first, let's get your mindset right.
The book of Judges reveals how Israel's tribes gradually compromised God's commands after Joshua's death. Starting with Benjamin's failure to drive out the Jebusites from Jerusalem, each tribe became progressively less obedient, choosing seemingly practical compromises over complete surrender. From Manasseh's forced labor system to Dan's complete territorial failure, we see how partial obedience leads to spiritual decline. This ancient pattern mirrors our modern struggles with compromise in areas like finances, relationships, and witness. God doesn't demand perfection, but He does require obedience and complete surrender rather than comfortable compromise.

Why is it so crucial to receive salvation as a free gift—and nothing else? Scripture makes it clear that eternal life comes by grace, not effort, and must be accepted with simple faith. Join Jim Scudder on InGrace as he continues Getting the Gospel Right and shows why believing in Christ alone is the only way to be saved.
Have you ever noticed how the Bible makes the gospel wonderfully simple—yet we often complicate it? In Getting the Gospel Right, Jim Scudder shows why salvation must be received as a gift, not earned or improved. Join Jim Scudder on InGrace as he explains how believing in Christ alone brings everlasting life.
The tribe of Judah experienced remarkable victories in conquering the Promised Land, defeating giants and capturing fortified cities through God's power. However, their campaign reveals how small compromises can lead to significant consequences. When faced with iron chariots in the coastal plains, Judah chose to avoid the challenge rather than trust God's ability to overcome superior technology. This seemingly minor decision to leave one area unconquered has had lasting implications for thousands of years. The story demonstrates that while God blesses imperfect obedience, our small compromises can create long-term difficulties and missed opportunities for experiencing His full power.

God's righteousness is bad news for us... and good news. In Romans 1, Paul lays out his topic for the letter: righteousness: The absolute perfection of God's moral character. We discover that we're immoral, impure, even rebels against the Right; and we realize that we have no future. We corrupt ones cannot coexist with His incorruption. But then Paul tells us that the righteousness that condemns us, can save us. God's ultimate goal is not to keep you out of Hell... but to take the Hell out of you! When we surrendered our lives to Jesus our accounts were cleared with God. Our negative moral balance was wiped out, and we were reckoned as righteous. So far, so good. But if we think that's all God has to say to us about the matter of right-ness, we're in deep trouble. The whole point of the exercise is to take that holiness on the ledger, and make it real in our lives. Air Date 10/3/2025 People around the world are angry, often for different reasons and even more frequently based on falseities - though not always. For instance, the Right in the UK and France are upset about immigration though most of those who are angry are wrong about the facts. But there's also widespread dissatisfaction with national governments and pessimism about their ability to make life better over the short term which is leading to much less predictable politics.
