At our vibrant Youth Sunday Service, Pastor Femi Paul brought us a rousing word titled “In Spite of It All!” A message of hope, resilience, and divine destiny. He anchored the message on Job 8:7 (NKJV), reminding us that no matter how small or humble the beginning, God has promised a future that is prosperous, successful, and extraordinary. Using the story of Gideon (Judges 7:4–7 NKJV), we saw how God does not need a crowd to bring victory. He just needs the right few. PFP also highlighted Jesus (John 6:42 NLT), whose background did not match the magnitude of His divine calling. The world may have questioned His origin, but purpose prevailed. Jesus is the ultimate template for our youth, destined to rise and shine in spite of limitations, labels, or humble beginnings. Pastor ended with a prophetic declaration from Job 8:7 in multiple versions, praying that: - Your humble beginning will give way to abundant increase (NKJV) - Your past will be eclipsed by a brighter, extraordinary future (CEV, CEB) - You will become very great and successful according to God's plan

At today's Holy Communion Service, Pastor Yomi Badejo-Okusanya brought a timely word titled “The Narrow Option.” He challenged us to reflect on the life of true discipleship — one that doesn't follow the crowd but chooses the narrow gate that leads to life (Matthew 7:13–14 CEV, MSG, Easy). It's not always the popular path, but it is the one that brings transformation and eternal reward. Referencing 2 Corinthians 5:17, we were reminded that in Christ, we are made new, called to live differently. Pastor Yomi then expounded on the unshakable love of Christ as outlined in Romans 8:35–39 NKJV, assuring us that no trial, power, or circumstance can separate us from His love once we choose the narrow path.

Today, we examine 2 Timothy 2:19 (CEV), in it you will find practical instruction from the Apostle Paul on how to live this life as a Christ follower. We also discover along the way how God has never given the job of separating the Weeds from the Wheat to the church, but left that to the Angels. (Matthew 13:27-30) One forgets that before Christ we were all 'weeds'.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleTuesday 17th JuneThe Frustrations With Prayer 2Many believers face a quiet but real struggle with prayer. Most people will not like to discuss or admit this frustration openly but the truth is that, even the disciples of Jesus experienced this frustration. In Luke 11, they asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray,” not because they didn't know how to pray, but because their prayers weren't producing results. They saw Jesus praying with passion, power and getting results, and they wanted to experience the same. This is a reality for many today. People pray, fast, and cry out to God, yet feel unheard. This is the same feeling Gideon had in Judges 6 when he asked, “If God is with us, why have all these bad things happened?” He, too, was frustrated with prayer and felt abandoned by God.Prayer, like any communication, can become frustrating when it feels one-sided. Just as we sometimes struggle to communicate with loved ones, we may also struggle to connect with God. But that doesn't mean He's distant or uninterested, nor is He the cause of our frustrations.James 4:1–3 (CEV), Why do you fight and argue with each other? Isn't it because you are full of selfish desires that fight to control your body? 2 You want something you don't have, and you will do anything to get it. You will even kill! But you still cannot get what you want, and you won't get it by fighting and arguing. You should pray for it. 3 Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons. The frustrations experienced in the place of prayer is not necessarily because of sin, it could be because of a lack of understanding or wrong motives. God longs to answer us. Jeremiah 33:3, He says, “Call to me and I will answer you...”So, if you're feeling stuck in prayer, don't give up. Ask God to show you what you don't yet understand. Prayer was never meant to be frustrating—it's meant to be a place of victory and communion.God bless you, enjoy your day.
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleMonday, 16th JuneThe Frustrations with Prayers 1In our earlier discussions, we explored Jesus' model for prayer. Now, we turn to a common but often unspoken issue—The Frustration with prayer. Many believers sincerely want to pray and have much to say to God, yet their experience feels dry, ineffective, or even pointless. They've had to deal with years of unanswered prayers that it's now become discouraging to pray. While others may say, “prayer is the master key,” those facing unanswered prayers often wonder, “Where is that key?” The truth is, prayer is part of a system in kingdom of God; it's not a magic wishlist that we pull out and God is compelled to answer. To expect results, we must understand God's structure for prayer or we'll be disappointed.James 4:1-3 (CEV) explains why some prayers go unanswered, verse 3 says, "You should pray for it. Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons."This gives a critical insight—prayer doesn't work in isolation. God doesn't ignore prayers, but He responds to those aligned with His will and ways. The Bible assures us that God's hand is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. The real issue is often a disconnect caused by sin or selfish motives. So, when we pray, we must look beyond the words we speak. Our relationships with others, the condition of our hearts, and our alignment with God's principles all influence the effectiveness of our prayers. Prayer involves more than asking—it requires humility, purity, and sincere connection with God and others. As we continue this series, we'll explore key factors that hinder prayer and how to overcome them. The goal is not just to pray more, but to pray effectively. God bless you, enjoy your day.

The Beatitudes, Pt. 7 | April 6, 2025Pastor Joey SarloLive by earth's values, reap earth's rewards. Live by Kingdom values, reap the Kingdom. Matthew 5:10 (NIV) Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 2 Timothy 3:12 (NIV) In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted… We can live the world's way or the Word's way. We just have to choose. Matthew 5:11-12 (NIV) “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me… Rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in Heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NIV) That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Matthew 5:13,14 (NIV) You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world… Matthew 5:16 (NIV) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Matthew 24:10 (NKJV) And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Luke 17:1 (NKJV) Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come...” Proverbs 18:19 (NIV) An offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, and disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel. BLESSED ARE THE PERSECUTED 1. Choose to overlook the offense.Proverbs 10:12 (CEV) ...Love overlooks the wrongs that others do. Proverbs 12:16 (GNT) When a fool is annoyed, he quickly lets it be known. Smart people will ignore an insult. Proverbs 19:11 (NIV) A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense. Love looks past the behavior and imagines the pain in their life. 2. Keep your heart free from unforgiveness.Luke 11:4 (NLT) “and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.”Colossians 3:13 (NLT) You must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 3. Pray, bless, and do good to them.Matthew 5:43-44 (NIV) “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Romans 12:21 (NIV) "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” 4. Remember your eternal reward.

“One day the Joseph tribes came to Joshua and asked, “Why didn't you give us more land? The Lord has always been kind to us, and we have too many people for this small region.” Joshua replied, “If there's not enough room for you in the hill country of Ephraim, then go into the forest that belonged to the Perizzites and the Rephaim. Clear out the trees and make more room for yourselves there.” “Even if we do that,” they answered, “there still won't be enough land for us in the hill country. And we can't move down into Jezreel Valley, because the Canaanites who live in Beth-Shan and in other parts of the valley have iron chariots.” “Your tribes do have a lot of people,” Joshua admitted. “I'll give you more land. Your tribes are powerful, so you can have the rest of the hill country, but it's a forest, and you'll have to cut down the trees and clear the land. You can also have Jezreel Valley. Even though the Canaanites there are strong and have iron chariots, you can force them to leave the valley.” - Joshua 17:14-18 CEV

İhsan Atasoy'un sesinden Cevşen duasını sizlerle paylaşıyoruz.
In the first episode, host Dr. Mimi Haddad meets with Rev. Dr. Aída Besançon Spencer to discuss Bible translation. Aída considers the different goals of translation teams from translations focused on a word for word translation; to meaning for meaning; to thought for thought and those that are a paraphrase. Each translation team from the NRSV, to the NIV, KJV and the ESV elevate their priorities in ways that are often helpful. In addressing the complexities of Bible translation, Aída gave the following helpful insight. She said: Translators are caught between rendering Form vs. meaning. A “formal translation”/formal-equivalence/literal/word for word/linguistic= Translation tries to preserve form (syntax and sentence structure) of the original to convey meaning. The emphasis is the original text, E.g. NRSV, NAS. It Allows the reader to interpret. A “dynamic-equivalence”/functional-equivalence/cultural =Translation expresses the original meaning in the natural form of the receptor language. The receptor language is emphasized. Translators seek equivalence in meaning or thought for thought translation, E.g., TEV, NEB. It does more interpretation for readers. A “paraphrase”=A freely rendered restatement (of another translation) of the author's thoughts in different words. But it is not a commentary, e.g. Living Bible, The Message. Aída cited those who contribute to the ESV team, noting their commitment to male-authority. She also expressed her preference for the NRSV assessing how the different translations render the crucial text 1 Tim 2:4–5—as it explains the work of Christ. She said: “who desires all people (anthrōpōs) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men (anthrōpōs), the man (anthrōpōs) Christ Jesus,” ESV “who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,” NIV “who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, (NASB) “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (KJV) “who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God; there is also one mediator between God and humankind, Christ Jesus, himself human, (NRSVupdated)+ CEB “God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is, There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human. (CEV)-a dynamic equivalent “Our Creator longs to set all people free and guide them into the full understanding of the truth. For there is only one Great Spirit, and only one who can bring the Great Spirit and human beings together in peace. That one is Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One, who is himself human.” (First Nations Version) “Our Savior God wants all humans to be saved and to come into knowledge of truth. For God is one, one is also a mediator between God and humans, human Christ Jesus, the One having given himself as a ransom on behalf of all” (ABS). 1 Timothy NCCS ABS 48-51 For clarity on confusing passages that seem to diminish the dignity, value and agency of women or minorities, Aída recommends Bible translation teams comprised of men and women who do not unite in their preference for male-leadership as the ESV translation team does. Aída also celebrated the diversity of opinion on the NIV translation team which is led by expert Bible translators who differ on their view on women's leadership. It's always better to move beyond a single narrative on key issues. Aída discussed the NT and OT texts that challenge 3 New Testament passages (1 Tim. 2:11-15; Eph. 5:21-23) which routinely eclipse the many passages that demonstrate women's leadership, like Acts 2:2-21; Gal. 3:28 and passages that demonstrate the leadership of Huldah and Deborah. Aída ends by emphasizing the oneness of man and woman, cited in Genesis 1:26-30 as both were called to rule over the world together, in a world without sin. Paul picks this up in Galatians 3:28, we are clothed in Christ—a purple robe, our true identity. In considering marriage, specifically in Eph. 5. Aída explained that Ephesians 5:18-21 is one sentence in Greek, with 2 main ideas: “And do not get yourself intoxicated with an intoxicating substance, in which is wild living, but be filled with the Spirit. What does it mean to be filled with the Spirit? Paul then uses 5 participles to describe what it means to be filled with the Spirit: “speaking to one another in psalm and hymns and spiritual songs, Singing Making melody in your heart to the Lord Thanking always for all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to Father- God Submitting yourselves to one another in fear/respect of Christ.” Verse 22 has no verb in the best Greek manuscripts: “the women…to own husbands as to the Lord…” Aída will return next month to address Bible translation as it has been used to further abuse and ethnic prejudice rather than human flourishing. You deserve to walk in any room with your head held high. Why? Because of God's favor and loving kindness towards you. Activate God's favor in your life! With this prayer, let's dive into the power of His kindness and the supernatural edge it gives you in every situation. Psalm 84:11 (CEV) declares: “Our LORD and our God, you are like the sun and also like a shield. You treat us with kindness and with honor, never denying any good thing to those who live right.” Get ready for divine opportunities, walk in your victory, and experience the undeniable favor of God in your daily living. You are a blessing.
Our Senior Pastor, Pastor Femi Paul, delivered a prophetic message titled "Soaring into 2025... by the Wind of God!", calling us to embrace a supernatural year of grace and elevation. Anchored on 2 Samuel 22:11b (NLT): "Soaring on the Wings of the Wind!", he declared that while many will cross into the new year through labour, God's chosen will soar, carried effortlessly by His Spirit. Quoting Isaiah 40:31b (CEV): "They will be strong like eagles, soaring upward on wings!", Pastor Femi described soaring as rising dramatically in position, value, and worth—ascending into majestic stature through divine power. As we step into 2025, he urged us to trust the wind of God to lift us into the extraordinary.
