The sermon centers on the profound joy found in a personal, transformative relationship with Christ, rooted not in external achievements or religious credentials but in the 'excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus.' Drawing from Paul's testimony in Philippians 3, it contrasts fleeting happiness—dependent on circumstances—with enduring joy, which arises from a deep, abiding trust in Christ's finished work and the assurance of eternal life. The preacher illustrates this through personal grief over his father's death, emphasizing how joy was sustained not by the absence of sorrow but by faith in Christ's victory over death. He warns against 'confidence in the flesh,' exposing the futility of relying on heritage, morality, or religious performance, and instead calls listeners to embrace salvation through faith alone, while pursuing a deeper, experiential knowledge of Christ through obedience, suffering, and reliance on God's presence. Ultimately, true joy is not circumstantial but covenantal—a steadfast rejoicing in Christ, even in the midst of loss, because His grace is sufficient and His promises are unshakable.
Today we come to end of this series on The Advent of Christ. In today's message we'll find that God entrusted the greatest message ever sent from heaven to a bunch of smelly shepherds. Actually, that's not so unusual, is it? God has always worked wonders for the forgotten, for the despised and the lowly. As we briefly look at the shepherds' response, we'll see some lessons that we can apply to our lives so that we don't forget Jesus this season. Thanks for listening. God bless you! This message was given by Pastor DJ Ritchey on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church.
During His life on earth, Jesus was the example of love. He showed compassion and mercy for those who needed it and offered forgiveness to the repentant. He also explained the standard of love we are to live up to in the commandment He gave in Mark 12:30-31. We may not always be able to follow the command, but we should make every attempt to do so by loving Jesus with everything we have as well as treat even total strangers with a spirit of love and compassion in all we do. He IS the Lord of Love...let's spread the word! Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

And as we'll talk about today, He's the Prince of Peace...He reigns over the disturbances in our lives. There are several factors in Christ's ministry as “The Prince of Peace” that are important for us to know so stay tuned. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Have you ever made a mistake that was so damaging, so disgraceful, that you felt you could never recover? Maybe you're still living under the shadow of failure. Pastor John Munro shows that no failure is final when we seek repentance and restoration through Jesus Christ.
The apostle Peter was a strong leader, and a passionate follower of Christ, yet when the pressure was on and fear took hold, Peter faltered and denied even knowing Jesus! Pastor John Munro teaches about dealing with failure, and how to recover from our greatest mistakes.

Welcome to a new edition of Vatican Insider on this penultimate weekend in November! My guests in the interview segment this weekend are Aidan Gallagher, head of EWTN Ireland, and Jesuit Fr. Bernard McCuckian, principal narrator of “The Kingship of Christ,” a documentary produced by EWTN Ireland. Other protagonists of this 4-part documentary on Christ the King that premiered November 18 in the Vatican's filmoteca or film library include Fr. Mark Lewis, SJ, Rector of the Jesuit-run Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and Fr. Dominic Holtz, OP, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Angelicum, the Dominican university in Rome. This Sunday, of course, November 23, 2025 is the feast of Christ the King. This year, in fact, marks the 100th anniversary of its institution by Pope Pius XI on Dec. 11, 1925 at the end of that Jubilee Year. The four parts explore the meaning and origins of the term “kingship” in Sacred Scripture, the nature of Christ's kingship, its rise to prominence in the 19th and 20th centuries, and how His reign continues to be realized in the world today.

In addition to Elders, Timothy is to find qualified Deacons. Who are Deacons? We look at Acts 6 and examine how the early church adapted to increased ministry needs by establishing a new office of ordained men to serve the material needs of the church. Acts 6:1-7
In addition to Elders, Timothy is to find qualified Deacons. How does God equip these servants for faithful ministry in the church? We look at 1 Timothy 3:8-13 to answer that question.

What is the church's true mission? In this message from 1 Timothy 2:8–15, Pastor Jeremy calls the church back to its identity as a life-saving station, urging men to pray with holy hands and women to adorn themselves with good works. Together, we are to embody the gospel with holiness, unity, and love, so that Christ is seen in us and God is glorified
What does it mean for women to be taken seriously as disciples of Jesus? In this message from 1 Timothy 2:11–15, Pastor Jeremy emphasizes Paul's call for women to be learners in the church, nurtured in a distraction-free environment and equipped to grow in Christ. True discipleship means creating space for women to learn with attentiveness and submission to God's Word, so that the whole church may be built up in faith and worship
Can we trust God's design for His church? In this message from 1 Timothy 2:8–15, Pastor Jeremy unpacks Paul's restriction of pastoral teaching and governing to qualified men, showing how it is rooted not in cultural bias but in God's creation order. With humility and hope in the gospel, we are called to receive God's Word, live out His order in the household of faith, and bear witness together to the redemption we have in Christ
