We learned so much about the classical world, offshoots of the classical word, and what it's like to be a punk in the classical scene. Maha is the daughter of Palestinian refugees, and she has been a lifelong activist for Palestinian rights. Our guest this week is Kayla from the Winnipeg metal band, Vagina Witchcraft. They spoke to us about what it was like growing up black and queer in the Winnipeg scene. We also talked about Kayla's passion for poetry and using their poetry in their activism. Kayla is a wealth of knowledge, and this episode sums up only a small part of their life in Winnipeg. We're back! After a short hiatus, we return with our new friend Tanner. Tanner grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, going to local Christian hardcore and punk shows. At 19, she went on her first tour with Figure Four. Later, she became the tour manager for Comeback Kid and is now the assistant tour manager for Parkway Drive. In this episode, we will discuss what it's like being a woman on tour, as well as how the pandemic has put a halt to touring. Tanner currently works at Evil Greed in Berlin, where she resides.
