The past few months have flown by and they have been a whirlwind to say the least. We've taken trips to Bahrain and Paris and we are adjusting nicely to life in Saudi. After our jaunt in Paris we are back home in Saudi and during a very special time. With a few drinks in me and maybe a bit tipsy, I go over what I have been trying to do for the past week. A very non professional personal inventory of myself. With this impending major move to another country and with some recent slights and hurts I’ve encountered, I thought it might be healthy to check in with me. Now, I’m not a therapist, but one of the things I’ve learned in therapy is it can be beneficial to take the time to recognize, acknowledge and process present feelings and past experiences. Stephen has started a new position and we are moving to Saudi Arabia. He’s already living and working in Saudi and soon I will be joining him. I am always wanting updates from him on what it is like and what I can expect. Steve joins the episode to share what his experience has been like: moving, living and working abroad. Family time is important and it nourishes my soul. I value the time I get to spend with my brothers. Sometimes I even feel like a kid again. My brother Tim was able to come down for a visit before I move to Saudi. What better way to spend family time together than watching a movie. We decided to watch Bird Box. This was his first time watching it and it was my second. His breakdown of the movie and the connection in themes was unlike anything I heard being shared about the movie. What is a meet cute? A meet cute is a scene in which the two people who will form a future romantic couple meet for the first time. For Steve and I, we met on Eharmony and our first date had a twist but was still very endearing. I knew I loved him after our first international trip together.
