This week has been difficult for so many. Our denomination has reinforced its opposition to the LGBTQ+ community. I ache for all who are excluded from the full fellowship of the UM church. Their pain is our pain, my pain!! If one is hurting, EVERYONE is hurting!! Then today I had the privilege of leading a Service Celebrating the life of a dear friend who battled addiction. He called Grace Church his home!! He was loved by so many in the Aberdeen community. As we celebrated his life I realized that in spite of the brokenness of the Body of Christ, we still are ministering in Jesus name. It is in that Spirit that I invite you to join us at Grace Church this Sunday. We will ponder the pit falls and the opportunities that come from Mountain Top experiences. We gather at the Lord’s Table at all three services: 8:15, 9:30 and 11 am. At Grace Church we declare proudly that ALL of God’s children are welcome!!

Some 2,000 years ago the Apostle Peter made some choices that would impact us as followers of Jesus. This Sunday at Grace I will consider some of the thoughts that may have been racing through his mind and soul. We praise God at 8:15, 9:30 and 11 am as we pray for our denomination that will be meeting in St. Louis pondering the same Inclusive message Peter faced!!!
