Mainly sport, occasional attempts at comedy, sometimes offensive, always weekly.
Had a great time recording this with Banksy and TJ. I hope you enjoy. https://www.facebook.com/Rule34Official https://rule34.bandcamp.com/releases
The episode about a horse.
Due to circumstances beyond our control regular recording is on hold but here is an hour or so with me chatting with my favourite musician I know personally. The excellent TJ Hollis. Look for his Tuesday and Friday live music Facebook live streams. They are a lot of fun. https://www.facebook.com/Rule34Official/
The last sports movie ep for a while. Something different next week.
Another week of isolation (for Banksy) goes by. Another week of finding ways to keep Banksy entertained. This week we tackle another sports related movie. Only one more after this one, I promise, and then we will go back to disasters or scandals or whatever else we can dream up to help us navigate this desolate sportless landscape we currently live in.
It's Good Friday so I feel it is an apt time to upload a new episode devoted to a really good movie about a sport I really don't care about. Regardless of the sport it's a good movie and I'm fairly certain a sport which will feature in at least one more of these while everyone (but me) is in lockdown mode.
So we can't got out and see sport, there is no sport on tele because not one can get out and play sport. What is the next best thing? Movies about sport. While Banksy is quarantined and I'm allowed to go out in in public because I load your hand sanitiser ever day that we have stock available, we are just going to have a crack at some thing . It's sports movies for now. Some good ones coming up but this week is the one that I think is the greatest made.
I wasn't sure if i should call this Ep 29 or restart the count at Ep 01 for the new format. I decided we should keep the count going. At the time of uploading Liverpool need two more wins to lift the EPL trophy, Aus and NZ are playing ODI's behind closed doors, the NRL is underway and I'm doing my best to keep up with as much as possible. I mentioned the new format and to explain that, Banksy and I are going to explore a topic from sport history each episode. There will still be plenty of us ranting about what has happened in the sporting world in recent times but I hope you also enjoy the topics we choose to explore.
Here is a bit more fun from the year we are about to say goodbye to. Banksy does know how to find the weird and wonderful in the sports world. Happy New Year everybody. Thank you for listening and I hope you stick around for our silliness in 2020. Luv ya all Scotty
I apologise for no new episodes in recent weeks. If technology didn't fuck shit up you'd have had the amazing chat I had with David and Chris from the Pararoos. Between work and life Banksy and I just had the chance to record anything. In case you missed it, Liverpool are the World Club Champions after beating Brazilian team Flamenga 1-0. As an update it has been 10883 days since Liverpool won the League.
I'd like to say we are doing different things but we aren't.
All the usual. Sport and a bit of pizza talk.
What can I say? Week after week Banksy allows me to talk about soccer so once again we do just that followed by discussion about a few other sports as well.
A bit of everything this week as we catch up a couple of weeks of sports news.
It's been a few weeks and apologies for that. We've both had illnesses or family members ill. This is probably not my greatest editing effort but Banksy and I kinda recorded this without any forward planning. It was quite spur of the moment (and I might have a little drunk).
Lot's of cricket talk. A bit of other stuff too.
Covering a number of football codes and delving into grassroots leagues, Nick Kygrios still continues to disappoint with bad behaviour and of course The Ashes. Apologies for two things, at one point there is the sound of my phone ringing that i couldn't remove and the second is we didn't get to Super Netball which has had some excellent matches since our last ep. For the record to follow Banksy's and my grassroots teams here are their Facebook pages: https://www.facebook.com/WestEndRugbyLeagueFootballClub/ https://www.facebook.com/LangLangFootballClub/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARArrn7wtMcm8PE8FnHn9N05TyifIbKtwhALRtrdZEsc1e9LqQSnc5Qrut-T2pxSfiF1x3GO1NoxhxwP
After a two break where Banksy didn't manage to run into any swimmers in China we are back to banging on about cricket, various football codes and showing our frustration (again) about bad behaviour.
Apologies for this being so late. The cat can't work the software. Also apologies for most of this being me ranting about things that have irritated me in the world of sport. Banksy is out the country at present but fingers crossed at some stage this week I can organise a special episode with a great friend, the guy that gave me my love of Tour de France by explaining how it worked, Juzzy who will do a far better job at wrapping up what happened in the Tour than I'd ever be able to do.
This isn't a long episode considering it was recorded during most of an 80 minute NRL game. It was fun to do though and I hope Banksy and I can do this again in the future and do it better
The aftermath of the Cricket World Cup. I think we also talked about other stuff.
Every fourth year throws up a ridiculous amount of sport during July. World Cups, Ashes, Tour, Origin and then August backs it up with more of the same.
We wouldn't go to the fucking White House either. Plenty of sporting successes over the last week since last we spoke. Also gambling advertising in sport can go straight in the bin.
Tennis, Golf, Surfing, almost Football (Soccer for most of you lot). Australian women made a huge mark on the weekend and we couldn't be prouder of their continued efforts in giving Australian sport a good name on a global level. Also Rugby League's new Representative round concept, the many positives and some grubby negatives along with Australia's progress at the Cricket World Cup. Banksy once again seeks the weird and wonderful in sport through history.
How good is Sam Kerr! We give our take on both World Cups running at present along with all the noteworthy domestic sport.
We actually talk about tennis along with all the other things we usually talk about.
Much to talk about this week with State of Origin, Super Rugby, Super Netball, Giro d Italia and of course the Cricket World Cup.
Before all the talk is cricket for weeks and then Tour de France for a further three weeks here is just me doing something short and sweet. My laptop cracked the sits doing this one for some reason so I didn't have it uploaded before the first Origin but rest assured I saw the whole game due to the system finally fixing itself during the game.
An interesting episode with both Banksy and I suffering ailments. We still managed to hit the major news in sport.
The week a grown man admits being in tears in the middle of the night while his mate admits he will be gentle during the conversation. A week we discuss an AFL player climbing a goal post, the Magic Round, Lanc's lost ShitCunt after he took 6 wickets and the Australian Women's 7's Union squad are almost guaranteed an Olympics spot after their final appearance in France. Also lots at the top about the EPL and me being in tears. At least we have three months of that we don't have to deal with.
As always we talk Liverpool because why wouldn't I? A heap of other stuff as usual plus some bonus Jason at the end. Available through iTunes or Spotify or through this link.
Welcome back! Today, we have an awesome guest, former Australian Captain for the transplant Cricket team, Graham Lentell. We talk how it is to have to play cricket after a transplant and then we talk sport. Join us on Facebook. http://luckystars.good4global.com/ https://www.themorningbulletin.com.au/news/apn-lentell-out-to-restore/66080/ https://www.themorningbulletin.com.au/news/graham-enjoys-second-innings/448292/
Much later than I would have liked and due to various life issues (Easter, illness, work, etc) Banksy and I couldn't get the time to do our usual ranting about the previous week in sport so I roped in a good friend to have just a general chat. I don't really know how this will sound as it was edited at a ridiculous hour of the morning after being woken by a cat thinking it was time for breakfast while he should have still been outside killing rodents.
This is a big week for us having our first guest into the podcast. We had the pleasure of being joined by Australian Pararoos captain David Barber for a good part of the recording. It was an honour to have someone who has represented the nation so well for two decades. Here are some links to find more information on the wonderful team that David leads so well or to donate money towards keeping the lads on the park. https://www.pararoos.com.au/ https://asf.org.au/
Who doesn't want to record in the middle of the night to not really say the things?I'd worked out the things on the 40 minute tram ride but most of them disappeared during the ten minute walk to my door and I had to ad lib. I hope there is something in this worth salvaging.
Not too much different to any other week. Just two idiots banging on about sport.
Wow! This one is a bit of a marathon but worth it for the content. We tackle the resurgence of the Australian one day side, the good (AFLW grand final) and bad (have a guess) in the AFL world, news out of both rugby codes and Banksy brings the obscure once more.
We explore how much we hate Internet fuckwits attacking our sports stars, how much we despise gambling culture and the advertising it breeds, we look at sports results we care about and talk about something obscure.
More discussion of Australia’s successful tour of India, compassion and solidarity for our great rivals New Zealand and fucking reindeer racing. Other stuff too. Oh yeah, Banksy ghosts me too. Also apologies for the noise of the crickets at Banksy's end of the recording. I've demanded he not be in the backyard. for future episodes.
Mainly NRL.....the horrible off season of the NRL
Banksy wants a Vespa with a trailer and a sidecar, we tackle problems in the NRL off season and discuss the challenges and victories of the Australian cricket team. Scotty finds out the card game Bridge is considered to be a sport!
Here is a little preview I've worked to give you an idea of what is coming between now and when you decide enough is enough and you can't listen to these idiots anymore. Enjoy (I hope).
