Trust. It's yet another essential ingredient in building and sustaining elite teams. This week on The Mark Divine Show, Mark does a deep dive into the art and science of trust, drawing from his rich experience with the Navy SEALs, and his book “Staring Down The Wolf”. Mark shares tales that unveil the true nature of leadership when things go sideways, and unpacks the three foundational pillars of trust—transparency, humility, and relentless follow-through. He discusses how authentic leadership is forged by facing down fears—-particularly the fear of failure. Using insights from the military and his own personal growth journey, Mark issues a call to action for leaders everywhere to look inward, trust themselves first, and lead with character and courage. Key Takeaways: Relentless Follow-Through: Understand that trust is cemented when leaders do what they say, support their teams, and make sure crucial lessons lead to real action and positive change. Facing The Fear of Failure: Realize that leaders who are afraid of failure tend to become perfectionists, procrastinators, or careerists, which ultimately weakens teams and limits growth. Authenticity Matters: Recognize that staying authentic, consistent, and operating from humility will spread trust throughout your team. Trust is Critical in Team Performance: Discover how trust acts as the “glue” for elite teams, and the consequences of lacking it can be mediocrity and underperformance. Mark Divine is a former Navy SEAL Commander, entrepreneur, and NYT Bestselling author with PhD in Global Leadership and Change who has dedicated his life to unlocking human potential through integrated training in mental toughness, leadership, and physical readiness. Mark's journey began in New York City, where his fascination with eastern philosophy and martial arts set the stage for a transformative path. After a successful stint as a consultant at PriceWaterhouse Coopers, he made the pivotal decision to join the Navy SEALs at 25. Over two decades of service, Mark commanded critical missions globally, retiring as a Commander in 2011. In this episode of the Growth Now Movement, I welcome back my friend Justin “Coach Kav” Kavanaugh for his fourth appearance—a deep dive into his evolution from coaching Olympic sprinters to scaling businesses and acquiring companies. With more than 20 years of elite coaching under his belt, Kav has guided some of the world's fastest athletes—including Olympic gold medalists and world-record holders—and transformed that experience into a high-impact business model. We explore how Kav seamlessly integrates high-performance athletic principles from the track into boardrooms and business-building. He shares how he shifted from grueling hours of speed training to intentionally designing businesses that run without constant oversight—because the real win is in time and financial freedom, not just growth.

0:00 ... Show open ... Bruce Bernstein introduces co-host Michael "World B" Freer and our special guest Dave Wohl, the former player, coach, and general manager. 0:56 ... Dave reflects on the just concluded NBA Finals series between the OKC Thunder and Indiana Pacers. Dave felt that these two teams may meet again in the Finals at some point. 2:06 ... World B points out that OKC may not even have shown the best version of what they can still become as a team. Dave praises OKC GM Sam Presti for the way he built the Thunder into a championship squad. 4:36 ... Bruce points out that NBA players voted Tyrese Haliburton the "most overrated" player in the league and silly they look now. Dave explains how Haliburton's growth whas been so much fun to watch. 5:59 ... World B asks about whether the league has to address the length of the season given the number of high profile injuries. Dave explains why that may not be feasible but suggests a lengthy break midway through the season so players can mentally and physically recharge. 8:40 ... Bruce points out the uniform numbers of the three players who suffered the achilles were all "0." Dave points out how achilles injuries can be so random. 9:53 ... Shai Gilgeous Alexander was originally drafted by the Clippers and traded to OKC in Sam Presti's greatest move. Dave goes through some of Presti's moves while also defending the trade with LA due to the wishes of owner Steve Ballmer. 12:45 ... Bruce transitions to the Kevin Durant trade where he went from the Suns to the Rockets and asks Dave if this closes the gap between the Rockets and the Thunder. Dave likes the deal for Houston but thinks they may miss Dillon Brooks and his defense. 14:59 ... Did the Rockets simply give up on Jalen Green? Dave feels Durant gets them closer to a title more quickly than Green ever could. 17:17 ... How does this deal affect the future of the Phoenix Suns franchise given their bad salary situation? 19:10 ... The New York Knicks' pursuit of the coaches from five other teams has affected their relationships with a lot of teams. How much damage was done? The Knicks didn't have a plan and now whomever they sign will be their 6th or 7th choice. 21:50 ... In spite of the Knicks mis-steps, they're still a premier eastern conference team, so is it better for the NBA to have a lot of teams that COULD win as opposed to fewer elite teams like OKC that could be a future dynasty? 24:06 ... Bruce asks Dave about Tom Thibodeau's decision to bring Josh Hart off the bench and whether the fact that Hart suggested the change might have caused Knicks management to question Thibs' leadership. 27:25 ... The Lakers will be sold for $10 billion and as a former member of the Lakers organization, Dave has some thoughts on how the "Mom and Pop" nature of the team might change under a more corporate ownership. Jeanie Buss will still represent the team as their "Governor," but her input on basketball decisions might be affected. 29:54 ... How will the price tag for the Lakers affect the entry fees for the next NBA expansion teams, which are expected to be Seattle and Las Vegas? 32:08 ... Dave sounds off on what expansion teams are like to work for since he worked for the Miami Heat when they were an expansion team. He feels that expansion teams start with a clean slate and can build their own unique culture. Dave hired Erik Spoelstra as video coordinator and explains why Spo' appealed to him as a young potential hire. 34:27 ... The NBA Draft is on Wednesday night and we discuss five "bottom feeder" teams and what their goals should be in the draft. Danny Ainge and the Utah Jazz are first. 35:51 ... The Washington Wizards are next ... members of their management all worked in OKC and Dave feels they'll follow Sam Presti's model. 37:08 ... Washington is a major market while Oklahoma City is not. Does that affect the Wizards' ability to use the OKC model, which requires patience. 39:04 ... The Charlotte Hornets are picking at #4 ... and have missed the playoffs the last 9 years ... they have some talent on the roster so they'll probably draft for a position. 40:32 ... New Orleans picks at #7 but Zion Williamson's lack of reliability really hurts this franchise and also negatively affects his trade value. 42:20 ... Philadelphia is a "bottom feeder" in name only as they were devastated by injuries last season. Can they use the #3 pick wisely and get healthy in time for next season? Will they have to use the trade market more than the draft in order to improve? 44:02 ... Philly's Joel Embiid was one of several Olympians who were injured this season but Dave feels that their injuries were not the result of their Olympic obligations. Dave explains how players who work hard all summer can wear their bodies out even though they're not playing in games. 46:41 ... Bruce asks everyone for their overall thoughts on the season that just concluded. Dave felt it was a "season of change." 47:52 ... World B feels like OKC is built for a run that could result in multiple titles. 49:30 ... Bruce wants to give Pacers coach Rick Carlisle his flowers for a sensational coaching job this season and how he will end up in Springfield one day. 50:22 ... Bruce wraps it up ... thanks everyone ... teases the NBA Draft and next week's show ... TRT 51:23
In 1912 he was proclaimed the world's greatest athlete and some of his Olympic records from that year still stood two decades later. He was...

As Customs and Border Protection warns of an unprecedented sleeper cell threat, revelations mount about the Biden administration releasing unvetted Iranian nationals—some potentially on the terror watch list—into the U.S. In this explosive broadcast, Tara and JD Vance lay out how Democrats are actively shielding those tied to terror networks, while simultaneously reviving Barack Obama's controversial Global Engagement Center to silence dissent and censor conservative speech under the guise of “national security.” Tara draws a bold through-line from Obama's regime-change bombing of Libya, to Chuck Schumer's outrage over Trump's precision strike on Iran, and the broader Democrat-Iran alliance. With figures like the Ayatollah enjoying full access to platforms like X, while Trump and critics of trans ideology face digital exile, Tara paints a chilling picture of selective censorship and foreign favoritism. Meanwhile, cultural tides shift as free speech wins major ground—highlighted by Olympic champion Simone Biles deleting her X account after a public reversal in a debate with Riley Gaines. From cultural collapse to national betrayal, Tara argues the left has lost control of the narrative—and is turning to censorship as its last hope. This episode isn't just commentary—it's a wake-up call: Democrats aren't preparing to fight Iran. They're preparing to protect it.

Send us a textWelcome back everyone for the conclusion of my interview with former Ventura Chapter President of the Hells Angels, George Christie. But first a disclaimer. I do not and never have condoned criminal behavior. I was a cop for 25 years and my heart is with the men and women who enforce the law and bring criminals to justice. That being said, I wanted to bring you the listener/viewer a different kind of perspective. One from an unapologetic outlaw living out the last chapters of his life (who knows, maybe he will live to a 100). I think it's good to see both sides of the coin. I may not agree with everything he says or stands for, but we can sit down and have a civilized conversation, something that is desperately missing in today's society, I think. So, my guest on today's show George Christie, has spent some time in prison and was the president of the Ventura Chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club from 1978 to 2011. In 2011 he walked away from the Hells Angels and resigned his membership. A short time later the club turned their backs on him and considered him in ‘bad standing' which is a kick in the gut for someone who dedicated his life to the outlaw club. It's kind of like it never happened. George's life is like something out of a movie. He has gone to war with rival bike gangs like the Outlaws and Mongols and has had at least two contracts out to kill him. He was in the hotseat on the news show 60 Minutes where he was grilled by Mike Wallace. He spent a year in solitary confinement and also carried the Olympic torch for the 1984 games in Los Angeles and even had a blowup with the Kennedy's. One thing is for sure, George is not boring. Please enjoy the conclusion of my interview with George Christie. In today's episode we discuss:· His 60 Minutes interview with Mike Wallace and Mike flirting with his wife.· FBI informant Anthony Tate. · His time in jail / prison and the effects of being in solitary confinement for a year. · The difference between the Hells Angels now and when he was leading a charter? · The hit television show Sons of Anarchy. What he and other Angles thought of David Labrava (Happy Lowman), Rusty Coones (Rane Quinn), Sonny Barger (Lenny Janowitz), and Chuck Zito (Frankie Diamonds) being on the show?· His stormy relationship with Sonny Barger.· Everything, including your patch, motorcycle, and even jewelry is club property?· Is it still a straight, white male club? What are females' roles in the club? Old Ladies?· What about fake Angels? If I get a counterfeit patch and decide to ride my bike in Hells Angels territory, what should I expect?· How he wound up quitting the Hells Angles. · Being the spokesman for the Hells Angels.· Riding a motorcycle is moving Zen.· The book, Exile From Front Street. All of this and more on today's episode of the Cops and Writers podcast.Ride over to George's website to learn more about him and his books!Check out the new Cops and Writers YouTube channel!Check out my newest book, The Good Collar (Michael Quinn Vigilante JusticeWhat would you do if you lost the one you loved the most? On this week's show we rank our favorite Streaming Services. We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: More than 25% of viewers aren't watching live TV anymore Tubi breaks the 100 million monthly active user mark Netflix to Introduce Live TV Channels in France NCIS: Tony & Ziva Sets September Premiere Date on Paramount+ Other: Panasonic DVD Recorders on ebay Panasonic DMR-EH75VS DVD recorder with 80GB hard drive and HiFi VCR, plus DVD video upconversion at Crutchfield The 10 Best DVD Recorders of 2025 (Reviews) - FindThisBest "It's Official: Streaming Is Now the King of TV The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking We received an email from a listener named Scott that pointed us to an article titled ”The Definitive Streaming Service Ranking” written by Josh Rosenberg and published in Esquire magazine. In the article he ranks the top seven streaming services. We'll go through his picks from seven to one. And then we'll give our rankings. 7 Amazon Prime Video - The main criterion for ranking streaming services is whether they offer at least one new, worthwhile show each month. Prime Video falls short, as it doesn't consistently deliver high-quality new TV content. Instead, it focuses on being a hub for accessing other subscriptions, with shows like Reacher, Fallout, and The Boys feeling like bonuses for Amazon Prime's free shipping rather than a compelling reason to subscribe for streaming alone. 6 Peacock - Peacock is a top choice for reality-TV fans, offering Bravo's full lineup, including Real Housewives, Love Island USA, Below Deck, Top Chef, and Watch What Happens Live. It also hosts NBC's library with classics like The Office, Parks & Recreation, New Girl, Scrubs, and Law & Order, plus Yellowstone due to an exclusive deal. Its appeal lies in its sitcom and reality-TV vault, and it's the streaming home for the Olympics, though that's only every two years. Fans might find it worth a high price, though it's currently much less than $100 a month. 5 Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ - The Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle is perceived as a single streaming service due to its long-standing integration, with Disney enhancing this by adding Hulu and ESPN+ tiles to the Disney+ home screen for seamless access. Each service offers unique strengths: Disney+ excels in Marvel, Star Wars, and children's content; Hulu features FX shows like The Bear and Shōgun, plus ABC's lineup, including Abbott Elementary; and ESPN+ remains a leader in live sports despite growing competition. Their combined appeal keeps them competitive, as they are stronger together than individually. 4 Netflix - Netflix benefits from long-term subscriber relationships, with users browsing its platform like they once did with cable TV. However, its content quality is declining, with more misses than hits. The upcoming conclusion of major shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things in 2025 could further challenge its ability to retain subscribers. 3 Paramount+ - Paramount+ benefits from Taylor Sheridan's popular shows like Yellowstone, Landman, and 1923, and its merger with Showtime has brought quality series such as MobLand and Yellowjackets. However, the streaming service struggles to justify its subscription cost as essential, with its success hinging on the delivery of Sheridan's planned spin-off universe. 2 Apple TV+ - Apple TV+ has significantly improved its content in 2025, with successful shows like Severance season 2, The Studio (Seth Rogen), Your Friends and Neighbors (Jon Hamm), and Stick (Owen Wilson). Previously, subscribing only for specific shows was advisable, but now, due to consistent high-quality releases with A-list talent, keeping the subscription active is recommended. If this trend continues, Apple TV+ will remain a strong competitor in the streaming market. 1 HBO Max - HBO tops the power ranking due to its consistent delivery of high-quality TV shows that justify the subscription cost. With a business model focused on quality since its launch over 50 years ago, HBO has aired acclaimed series like The Pitt, The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Rehearsal, and Hacks in the first half of 2025. Its extensive library includes some of the greatest shows and movies, such as Goodfellas. While Netflix prioritizes quantity, HBO Max excels in quality.

Okay, I admit it. I talk pretty fast. But maybe that's because I lived in the New York area for so long. Everyone there talks fast! Or maybe it's because I always have so much to say before the time runs out. But I am sort of a, I guess, a verbal machine gun. But I did come across someone who finally succeeded in slowing me down by about maybe two-thirds. He's a Russian doctor who had recently immigrated to the United States. He hadn't planned to come here, but persecution and the prospect of threatened imprisonment in the days of the Cold War had driven him to America. I groped for words that he would understand, and he groped for what would be the English word to express his feelings. It was kind of a long conversation. It took a while to exchange just basic information, but it was worth the effort. The doctor - a committed Christian, and for years he was secretly copying the scriptures and Christian literature when that door was closed in his country. He also ran a network of people who did the same - getting precious scriptures out to people. All that time he risked his secure, professional position to be spreading the Gospel. Finally, he had to leave, and he was trying to find some place to work in the United States. And I said to him, "You know, you are one of God's heroes." And he had kind of a pained look on his face like he didn't understand. I said, "Winner! One of God's champions. Olympics!" I was trying to be understood. And then I realized that his pained expression wasn't because he didn't understand; it was because he did. Then in this one line of broken English he gave me a Christ-like perspective on all the work we do. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Champions With No Trophy." Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Mark 14:3. "While Jesus was in Bethany reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar (very expensive perfume, that is). She broke the jar and poured the perfume on His head." Now, there is some criticism for that. After that in verse 8 He says, "She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body and forehead to prepare for my burial. I tell you the truth, wherever the Gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.'" And sure enough we just did it today again, didn't we? We talked about her. Now, in a sense, what the doctor said about his serving the Lord at such a great price in the Soviet Union is what we all ought to say. He said in his broken English, "I only do what I could." He didn't want to be a hero. He said, "I've only done what I could. No big deal." You know, I think the ultimate epitaph for our life would be what Jesus said about this woman, "She/he has done what she/he could." I wonder if that could be said about your life? My Russian friend knew that that's really all God expects. Now, He does expect all we have to give as this woman literally lavished her most expensive possession on the Lord. But He also wants us to know that it's no big deal to give Him all you have. Jesus thinks it's a big enough deal to reward though. It's important that we don't think that it's that big of a sacrifice. We shouldn't think, "Wow! Look what I just did." But on the other hand, He'll never forget it. Maybe you've got a sense of inadequacy right now, you compare yourself. You say, "Well, I don't have much to give. I'm not as talented. I can't do as much for the Lord as somebody else can." Are you giving what you have for Jesus' sake? That's all He asks. Lavish what you have...all the little or all the much on Jesus. Maybe the problem is pride. But then, how could you do any less for the Lord. Don't be proud, it's no big deal to give all the little that you have for the much that He gave for you. That Russian doctor? He didn't think he was a hero. None of us should. But if you just give it, don't be surprised if Jesus welcomes you in heaven with a hero's welcome.

From the brink of WW3 following Israel's attack on Iran, to the hypocrisy of Western leaders, Jemma and Marina unpack the realities of war, nuclear tensions, and the unchecked power of certain world leaders. They chat about Netanyahu's latest warmongering, expose how some leaders operate without accountability (because who needs rules, right?), and call out the West's Olympic-level hypocrisy when it comes to nuclear policies. Expect sharp analysis, unexpected moments of agreement with Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene (yep, didn't see that one coming), and some unhinged audience commentary from GB News that'll make you question reality. And don't worry, amidst all the doom, there's levity—because as terrifying as world events are, at least you didn't throw a birthday party no one showed up to.Tune in, laugh through the pain, and prepare to scream into the void alongside them. Sarah had a run-in at Home Depot where she was offered free plants, and she said no! And now she has regrets for being so honest and having integrity. Susie gives a tribute to her beloved Brian Wilson. We find out why Amelia Earhart wasn't actually a great pilot (seems like the disappearance should've tipped us off), but instead was just ahead of her time in...influencing. Susie explains how Amelia's famous flight has disturbing similarities to the Titan submersible tragedy. We learn about a woman who donated her body to science, but ended up blown to bits by the military. We hear why a funeral home was sending people remains of the strangers instead of their loved ones. The RMS Titanic is history’s most famous shipwreck, but it wasn’t the only ship of its kind. The White Star Line built two other nearly identical vessels: The RMS Olympic and Britannic. The Olympic carried passengers until 1935 and can be visited today. The Brittanic sank only four years after her sister ship the Titanic off the Greek island of Kea in the Aegean Sea like due to striking a German mine while serving as a hospital ship during World War One. It sank in only 55 minutes (compared to 160 minutes for the Titanic) but only 30 of the 1066 passengers due to better lifeboat procedures, warmer waters, and being closer to land. What While the wreck of the Titanic is 2 miles below the surface and rapidly deteriorating, the Britannic is much more accessible (only 400ft down) and remains largely intact. It’s in “shallow” enough waters that divers can reach it, although submersibles do most of the investigation work. What can the ship tell us about the sinking of the Titanic, the lives of its passengers in the early 20th century, and whether something nefarious happened that caused it to sink, as some claim (like German sabotage). These are the questions that today’s guest, Simon Mills, tried to answer when bought the wreck of the Britannic in 1996. He is a maritime historian who has coordinated multiple expeditions into the underwater wreckage and most recently finished extensive internal surveys in 2021 and 2023. He’s also the author of the new book Inside the Britannic which is the sum of decades of work covering every inch of the ship. We discuss exactly how this ship sunk, what happened during the frantic 50 minutes of its sinking, what happened to the survivors, and other unanswered mysteries.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode, Morgan opens with a foremother meditation honoring the legacy of 1936 Olympic track and field star Tidye Pickett, a trailblazer whose story deserves to be told. Vanessa and Morgan then have a powerful intergenerational dialogue with next-gen Nyra. Vanessa leads a transformative lesson on how to share power and build community across generations, offering insights on fostering meaningful connections with younger changemakers. And, of course, Nyra brings trekker testimonies that breathe even more life into the conversation. This episode invites us all to step into deeper solidarity across generations.
Continuous Glucose Monitors - or CGM's - tell you how much glucose is in your body in real-time. But can they be helpful for runners? As the carb revolution continues and we understand the importance of high-carb fueling for endurance performance, the next logical question to ask is: Well, what's the optimal level of glucose? Is there a range that's most beneficial? Coach Hunter Allen joins us to discuss how to train effectively with a CGM. He is a USA Cycling Level I coach, founder of the Peaks Coaching Group, cofounder of TrainingPeaks Software, and a former professional cyclist with the Navigators team. Hunter has been coaching endurance athletes since 1995 and was also the BMX technical coach for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His new book is now available for preorder: Training and Competing with a Continuous Glucose Monitor: A User's Guide for Athletes. In this episode we discuss: What CGM's do and don't do How to calibrate a continuous glucose monitor The importance of finding your personal optimal range How to fuel to prevent crashes (AND spikes) Potential drawbacks and who a CGM is not for If you have not yet, make sure you hit the subscribe or follow button in your podcast player so you never miss an episode of the Strength Running Podcast! We're obsessed with outcomes but rarely talk about the engine that creates them: consistent, tracked actions. This transformative episode challenges the magical thinking around results. Every meaningful change, from fitness transformations to business growth to cultural shifts, follows the same fundamental principle. Results aren't random; they're mathematical. The episode explores how this principle applies across domains: business leaders tracking client conversations rather than just hoping for growth; cultural transformation requiring observable behavior changes; health improvements demanding sustainable daily practices. We examine how the "repeatable" aspect is often overlooked, causing initially successful changes to fail when they prove unsustainable. Most importantly, we discuss how to ensure your aspirations align with the level of reps you're willing to perform - Olympic medals require Olympic-level inputs. Ready to transform wishful thinking into predictable results? Tune in! In this bonus mini-episode of “Million Bazillion,” Bridget and Ryan hear from Colin Hufman, who competed in the 2022 Beijing Olympics with the U.S. curling team. Curling is a sport that's played on ice, in which players slide granite stones toward a target area. We'll learn about Colin's experience earning income as an Olympic athlete, including payments for medals, monthly stipends and promotional endorsements. The hosts realize that making a living as an Olympian involves a lot more than just training and competing in sports.
This week on The Unbeatable Mind, host Mark Divine dives into another key commitment to forging elite, high performance teams—-respect. It holds the power to unlock massive potential, both in ourselves and those we lead. Drawing from his Navy SEAL experience, Mark shares compelling stories of leadership, integrity, and collaboration. He highlights what true respect looks like in action, whether it is welcoming new players like the Marines into the Special Operations community, or making tough, high-integrity decisions under pressure. He provides valuable insight into cultivating authenticity, clarity, and trust, which are the building blocks of genuine respect—-and details why these “soft skills” are true superpowers in today's fast paced world. Key Takeaways: Radical Authenticity: Understand why the most respected leaders lead with humility, admit when they're wrong, and always stay real. This creates genuine connection and fosters a culture of mutual respect. Clarity Conquers Pressure: Discover why staying crystal clear on what your values are even when facing political or organizational pressure is key to earning respect. The Shadow Side of Respect: Recognize that true respect comes from embracing vulnerability, owning your flaws, and being transparent about your challenges and setbacks. Respect Leads to Trust & Courage: Notice that by embodying integrity, authenticity, and clarity, leaders create a foundation for organizational trust and collective courage. As the school year winds down, Dr. Naomi gets all sentimental about her daughter making “core female friendships” and she and Jordana unpack why having your girl gang matters. In the Overshare, one single Betch has officially had it with the relationship interrogations at every brunch, wedding, and wine night and is looking for a polite way to say: mind your business. Then a Betchicist voicemail dives into the post-divorce awkward Olympics, as one listener tries to figure out if her mom and ex-stepdad can be in the same room without it turning into a Real Housewives reunion brawl. Dr. Naomi sets an intention for those catch-up convos that take a hard left into passive-aggressive hell and another listener spirals when her friend announces she's having another baby... with a husband who might actually be the final boss of red flags. And to top it all off: the last Triggered tackles the crime of being asked to chip in for a Bachelorette party you aren't even invited to. The audacity! Learn more about your ad choices.
