Men who complain that they are unlucky in love despite their 'nice guy' persona may have a sinister agenda. The so-called 'Nice Guy', the often physically unattractive man who overcompensates with clingy and over-the-top behaviour to women, is relentlessly mocked online. These men who tend to get stuck in the friend-zone might not be attractive enough on their own (physically, socially, or otherwise), and so try to compensate for their shortcomings by investing in women more than their peers. In other words, they might use kindness to try and make up for what they lack elsewhere. The idea is that if you meet someone's needs without them having to ask, they should meet yours. Ergo if a man is nice to a woman, she should repay him by becoming his girlfriend, because that’s obviously how these things work. And when things don't go their way, they often complain that they've been "friend-zoned" despite the target of their affections never being interested in the first place. The sinister logic behind 'Nice Guy Syndrome' is what Midori and Jaszmin will dive into today. -------- Follow Midori: Twitter: https://twitter.com/DaysMidori Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missstoryyoutube/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheColorMidori1/featured Follow Jaszmin: https://www.instagram.com/cashismyrealname/ -------------- Midori is an captivating, eclectic black women trying to navigate life in New York as an artist. The age-old question of whether or not size matters is typically directed at men, but this is a somewhat hidden concern for women as well. Chances are you’ve seen the words Big Dick Energy (or BDE as it’s been abbreviated) all over your Twitter and Instagram feeds of late. The phrase, coined by a Twitter user, describes the quiet confidence one might have from having an enormous penis, but to be clear, it doesn’t mean you necessarily have a big dick, more that you possess the air of confidence and swagger of someone who might. Still, it proves a point about just how glorified and revered a big dick is. And how having a smaller package can often come with a sense of shame and insecurity for the less well endowed. It’s the subject of men’s locker room jibing, and the one insult a woman knows will instantly wound her ex. But does size actually matter when it comes to sexual satisfaction or can a smaller peen do the job just as adequately? Which is where Midori and Jaszmin tackle the life long question in today's podcast. -------- Follow Midori: Twitter: https://twitter.com/DaysMidori Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missstoryyo... Inspiration porn is the portrayal of people with disabilities as inspirational solely or in part on the basis of their disability. The term was coined in 2012 by disability rights activist Stella Young in an editorial in Australian Broadcasting Corporation's webzine Ramp Up and further explored in her TEDx Talk. She rejected the idea that disabled people's otherwise ordinary activities should be considered extraordinary solely because of disability. On today's episode of Midori's World, Midori and Jaszmin discuss inspiration porn as abled people. -------- Follow Midori: Twitter: https://twitter.com/DaysMidori Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missstoryyo... Over the years African American women have reported more psychological distress following gender harassment than White women. For African American women, sexual assault and violence are incredibly pervasive issues that routinely go unreported and under-addressed. On average, one in three women are victims of intimate partner violence and one in five women are victims of sexual assault. And over EIGHTEEN PERCENT of black women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime. Many cultural considerations can hinder healing for Black women survivors: the burdensome expectation of strong Black womanhood; the desire to shield Black men; and the lack of self-care examples are all real dynamics Black women survivors endure. Come along as Midori and Jaszmin discuss what it's like to be a African American women in America. -------- Follow Midori: Twitter: https://twitter.com/DaysMidori Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missstoryyoutube/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheColorMidori1/featured Follow Jaszmin: https://www.instagram.com/cashismyrealname/ -------------- Midori is a bomb-ass , eccentric 24 year-old trying to navigate life in New York as an artist.
