Conflict follows relationships. Relationships are "Messy." No matter what we do, we will find ourselves in challenging conversations and with people that push our buttons. As followers of Jesus, how might we engage with a posture of openness and grace? What does Jesus show us about speaking the truth in love? What do we do when we've broken relationship and desire reconciliation? This series explores how we might step into conflict with intention, humility, and love.

The Bible is a confusing book, without a doubt. There are simple truths that can be easily distilled from the New Testament (God is love, Jesus died to heal the world, we can know God through the Spirit, etc.), but it is ultimately a book that came into being 2,000+ years ago. This series will explore the "why," "what," and "how" questions about the Scriptures, not so we can become filled with more information alone, but so that we can step into our own unique place in the story of God.

Rejoice! Paul uses words like joy to describe the depths of happiness he has found in identifying with Jesus as Messiah. This isn’t a happiness devoid of reality, where he invites the church at Philippi to wear Christian rose colored glasses. This sort of happiness embraces struggles, pain, suffering, and broken relationships. It holds the frustrations of life, names the circumstances we can’t control, and yet chooses a joy-filled contentment that can only be explained by having encountered the God of the universe in Jesus Christ. Journey with us through Paul’s powerful letter: Philippians.

In this series, Pastor Jenn Shaffer leads us through a series of conversations about Jesus and patriarchy. Through sermons and panel discussions, we explore the ways in which patriarchy—ancient and modern—is completely at odds with the way of Jesus. At the end of the series Pastor Kurt will give a wrap up message as we anticipate there will be lots to process and integrate into our church family’s DNA. Following this series we will watch a message by Christena Cleveland on how to be an ally when we have privilege.
Bishop Perry takes an intimate look at the past 18 months of his family’s life. A dear family friend suddenly took his own life and they’ve had to hold all of the emotions and questions that come from such a tragic loss. Perry walks through lessons that he’d rather of not had to learn, but has learned in the midst of such tragedy. These are unchosen. Yet, in the midst of pain and loss, God does whatever God can to bring hope and healing—even if something outside of God’s desired plan has happened.

The way of Jesus invites us to be people who model radical forgiveness.
The miracles of Jesus demonstrate Jesus’s absolute authority and power over the devil, sickness, death, and nature, thereby confirming to all that he is indeed the Messiah and the Fully Human One. He is the human we are destined to become. Also, the signs and wonders of Jesus testify to his limitless compassion for people and his longing to see people set free from all bondage. This series focuses on the humanity of Jesus through the lens of his miracles. (Not to the neglect of his Divinity, just in case you were wondering.)
