Reflection on Scripture: One thing we can get caught up in while doing devotional reading is the idea that we need a profound and unique insight in order to make a devotional meaningful. I know I have encountered many clever and nifty thoughts reading devotionals. Although this can be fun, none of that should take us away from the simplest idea that is the central core of the gospel of Jesus Christ. An all knowing loving God, chose to love you before you were even created. In that love he also created a method by which we can learn and grow and be redeemed.  The life mission of Jesus Christ is the outpouring of that love and it is offered to you. We are his sheep. He is both the shepherd and also the gate by which we come in and out. He is the way but he also shows us the way. There is a door specifically designed for us sheep. A door and a path that if we use, we will find safety. We can complicate it but ultimately there is no important message that can ease our burden than that. Anything you are facing in this world is a temporary challenge. God does not shout down answers at us from heaven but has shown us the way to live through the example of Jesus' life. He shows us how to overcome challenge with love and patience. He shows us strength in the face of overwhelming odds. He shows us that good will always win over evil.  If you are listening to scripture and responding to it then you are following the good Shepheard. I encourage you to continue in that walk. The path he has laid out will guide us to victory and safety. He is your loving savior and will never leave you or forsake you.  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Jesus Followers Have a Personal Relationship with the Creator of the Universe So Pray, Listen, and Be Patient for God's Call MESSAGE SUMMARY: No interaction with the Holy Spirit is too small for you or for God, and no Spiritual outcomes are too big for you or for God. Jesus illustrates, in the “Parable of the Mustard Seed", that big things come from small beginnings. The selection, by Jesus, of His initial twelve Apostles, led to the growth of Christianity from twelve followers to more than two billion Christians. So, when God gives you a vision or He puts on your heart to start a ministry or to visit the home bound; and you think the Spirit's is so small or inconsequential, just remember small beginnings lead to significant outcomes through the Lord. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commissions and promises His support to His Apostles and to us; therefore, how can any call, from the Holy Spirit, be too inconsequential or unsupported for us to embrace: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” Pray, listen, and be patient. After all, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe!   TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Today's shout-out goes to John Cray from Miramar Beach, FL. Read more about it here: PROJECT23 Our text today is Mark 15:1-5: And as soon as it was morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council. And they bound Jesus and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate. And Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" And he answered him, "You have said so." And the chief priests accused him of many things. And Pilate again asked him, "Have you no answer to make? See how many charges they bring against you." But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate was amazed. — Mark 15:1-5 Jesus stands accused. Dragged from an illegal trial at night to a Roman governor by morning, He's now bound and surrounded by religious leaders intent on His death. The question Pilate asks is critical: "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus doesn't plead, argue, or retaliate. He simply responds, "You have said so." It's an acknowledgment, not a defense. Then, as the religious leaders throw charge after charge, Jesus says nothing. Not a word. And Pilate is stunned. Jesus' silence is not weakness—it's strength under control. He knows he's innocent. He knows the accusations are false. But more than that, he knows the cross is his assignment. So he stays quiet, surrendering to the will of the Father. We live in a world where being misunderstood feels unbearable. Where clearing your name is a reflex. But Jesus shows us something higher—He trusted his Father more than he feared false accusations and negative tweets. Sometimes God calls us to speak. But other times, he calls us to stand in silence, not in defeat, but in trust. There will be moments when defending yourself isn't the point—displaying trust is. And in those moments, Christ's example gives you courage. When misunderstood or unfairly accused today or this week, pause and reflect. Before defending yourself, ask God if he's calling you to speak—or to trust him silently like Jesus did. #SilentStrength, #Mark15, #TrustGod ASK THIS: Why do you think Jesus chose silence instead of defense? When are you most tempted to justify yourself? How does Jesus' calmness before Pilate challenge your own reactions? In what current situation might God be calling you to trust, not react? PRAY THIS: Jesus, help me to trust You more than I crave approval or defense. Teach me to walk in humility and strength, just as You did before Pilate. Amen. As a Jesus Follower, Is Your Faith So Solid that, Unlike the “rich ruler”, You Would “follow Jesus” in a Financial Storm? MESSAGE SUMMARY: If a financial and economic calamity were to occur in America or in your family, would you still be content with Jesus; or would your faith be tested? In a personal financial problem, would you cling to your “wealth” like the rich young ruler, in Jesus' Parable, from Luke 18:18, 22-24: “And a ruler asked him {Jesus}, ‘Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' . . . When Jesus heard this, he said to him, ‘One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.' But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, ‘How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!'”? It is not beyond the realm of possibility that we could face a situation in which our economy goes off the cliff; prices inflate; and life's necessitates become scarce. When you compare yourself to the remainder of the world, you are wealthy like the young ruler – we are all earthly rich in this country. Therefore, can you, unlike the “rich ruler”, “follow Jesus” in a time of financial calamity as well as in good economic times?   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I have spent much of my life running from pain and loss, medicating my pain, and quickly moving on to the next project — the new urgent demand. Read more about it here: PROJECT23 Our text today is Mark 14:66-72: And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed. And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept. — Mark 14:66-72 The rooster crowed, and suddenly Peter's confident claims were shattered. Only hours earlier, Peter boldly declared he would die rather than deny Jesus. Yet here he stands, confronted by a servant girl, denying the One he had promised to follow anywhere. “I don't know Him,” Peter insists. The rooster crows again—and it cuts deep. Peter remembers the Lord's words: “You will deny me three times.” He's overwhelmed by grief. He breaks down. He weeps bitterly. This is the painful intersection of pride and reality. Peter genuinely wanted to be faithful, but his courage melted under pressure. He failed when it mattered most. And the sound of that rooster was not merely a reminder of what he had done—it was a revelation of who he was. But here's the powerful truth: Jesus knew Peter would deny him—and still loved him, still called him, and would soon restore him. Peter's denial was not the end of his story; it became a critical moment of humility that prepared him for greater faithfulness. Maybe you've felt the sting of your own “rooster crow” moments. Times when you've denied Christ by your actions or words. Times you've compromised your convictions or hidden your faith. Peter's story tells you clearly: Your worst moment is not the final word. Your denial doesn't have to define you. Jesus stands ready to forgive, restore, and strengthen you again. Your failures aren't the end—they're invitations to grace. Jesus meets you precisely in these moments, calling you back to faithfulness, humility, and renewed purpose. #GraceAfterFailure #Mark14 #Restoration ASK THIS: Why do you think Peter was so certain he wouldn't deny Jesus? How have your own failures impacted your walk with Christ? How does Jesus' restoration of Peter give you hope? What specific step can you take today toward restoration and renewed faithfulness? DO THIS: Today, identify an area where you've struggled or failed spiritually. Admit it honestly to God. Let this moment become your new starting point for experiencing His grace. PRAY THIS: Jesus, thank You that my failures don't define me. Forgive me for the moments I've denied You in word or action. Restore me, renew me, and help me walk forward faithfully. Amen.
