Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Alli Webb, the founder of Drybar and creator of Messy, for a candid conversation about entrepreneurship, innovation, and the evolving relationship people have with their hair. Best known for transforming the blowout into a category-defining experience, Alli reflects on the journey from launching a mobile styling business to building one of the most recognizable brands in beauty. What emerges is a powerful lesson in how great businesses are built. Drybar didn't succeed because it invented something new—it succeeded because it solved a real problem. Alli shares how identifying an unmet consumer need, combined with relentless focus on experience, consistency, and accessibility, helped create a brand that resonated far beyond the salon chair. The conversation also pulls back the curtain on the realities of entrepreneurship. Beyond the headlines and success stories, Alli speaks openly about the challenges of scaling a company, maintaining a clear vision, and navigating the constant problem-solving that comes with growth. Her perspective offers a refreshing reminder that successful businesses are rarely built through perfect planning—they evolve through resilience, adaptability, and curiosity. As the discussion turns to her latest venture, Messy, Alli shares how a shift in her own relationship with hair inspired a new philosophy. Rather than constantly transforming texture through heat and styling, she began embracing her natural waves and encouraging others to do the same. The result is a brand centered on hair health, authenticity, and working with your hair rather than against it.Listen to the full episode to hear Alli Webb discuss building iconic brands, embracing natural texture, and why authenticity may be the most powerful beauty trend of all.Shop MessyDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!Support the show

New here? Start with our Start Here playlist — five episodes that will change how you think about motherhood. You've tried the bins. You've tried the labels. You've watched the organization reels and bought the matching containers. And somehow, within a week, everything is a mess again. Here's what nobody told you: you're not messy. You've just been trying to use an organizing system built for someone else's brain. Cas Aarssen is a professional organizer, YouTube creator, and self-described recovering super slob. After years of failing at traditional organizing methods, she discovered that there are four distinct organizing styles — and once you know yours, staying organized becomes almost effortless. She's helped millions of people transform their homes by working with their brain, not against it. What you'll learn: Why traditional organizing systems fail ADHD and visual brains — and what to do instead The one question every organizing system should answer: does it work on your absolute worst day? The four Clutterbug organizing styles and how to figure out which one you are Why out of sight truly is out of mind for visual organizers — and why that's not a flaw The golden Clutterbug rule for shared spaces that stops the nagging and resentment cold How to start with your messiest spot and let your clutter tell you what system you actually need Why hooks, big labels, and no-lid bins work better than any fancy organizing system you can buy How to have the organizing conversation with your partner without it turning into a fight Why clutter attracts clutter — and the simple fix that breaks the cycle The Lego mat that will change your life (and your kids' cleanup habits) The 4 Clutterbug organizing styles: The Butterfly — visual and macro. Needs things out in the open to remember they exist. Out of sight truly is out of mind. Loves beautiful displays, hates hidden storage. The Bee — visual and micro. Needs to see things but also loves detailed organization. Color-coded files, labeled everything, things arranged just so. The Ladybug — hidden and macro. Likes things put away out of sight but in big broad categories, not detailed systems. The hider who shoves things in a drawer to clear a surface. The Cricket — hidden and micro. Loves detailed, out-of-sight storage. The person with the color-coordinated filing cabinet who knows exactly where everything is. "True organization is meant for your absolute worst day — so that you never have to catch up." Products mentioned in this episode: Lego play mat with drawstring — spreads out as a huge play surface, pull the string and everything collects into a bag. Find on Amazon. Life changing for kids' cleanup. Wall-mounted magazine rack or gold basket organizer — gets papers and bills off flat surfaces and onto walls where visual organizers will actually see them Ikea bathroom rod system with hanging buckets — keeps bathroom products off the counter and at eye level without taking up surface space Take the free Clutterbug quiz: Find out your organizing style and get personalized tips at clutterbug.me Resources mentioned: The Clutterbug Method — Cas's new course for organizing your own home with her coaching. Rob Crews and master pitching coach Rick Pauly pull no punches on the current state of college softball. From backdoor transfer portal deals and the culture of "leavers" to a full breakdown of the 2026 Women's College World Series — nothing is off limits. They examine why loyalty is disappearing from the sport, why colleges aren't developing players (and never really claimed to), and why too many home runs this postseason is a pitching problem, not a hitting achievement. Rob introduces the concept of "visual cache" and vertical bat angle as the keys to hitting the low rise ball, and Rick sounds off on the velocity obsession that's broken softball pitching from the private sector up. Plus: the all-time pitchers debate, the home run record chase, and a tease of Rick's developing nervous system/pulsing concept. No fluff. No spin. Just real talk.

In this episode, we expand on ideas presented by Nate Oman during a discussion on Faith Matters and trace the complicated, evolving history of Mormon sealings from Joseph Smith through the 20th century.Today, “eternal families” are often presented as the central purpose of temple sealings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But historically, the story is much messier. In this conversation, we explore how early sealings were not originally centered on the modern concept of nuclear families being together forever. Instead, sealing theology developed gradually during the Nauvoo period and often functioned as a way to create dynastic networks, priesthood connections, and systems of authority –what some critics compare to an MLM-style hierarchy of spiritual relationships. We discuss the evolution of sealing theology from Joseph Smith to Brigham Young, baptisms for the dead and the trauma surrounding Alvin Smith's death, the rise of dynastic sealings and the “Law of Adoption” where men were sealed to other men. We also discuss the relationship between sealings and plural marriage, how the sealing language changed over time, why Joseph Smith never initially sealed himself to Emma, the story of Jane Manning James and how she was “attached” to Joseph Smith instead of sealed. We also discuss the racial restrictions for Black Mormons, questions of informed consent, authority, and prophetic consistency, and whether the modern LDS concept of “forever families” would have been recognizable to Joseph Smith himself. We also examine how doctrines once treated as essential and eternal –including the Law of Adoption –were later abandoned entirely, raising larger questions about revelation, institutional change, and the development of Mormon theology. Whether you're believing, questioning, post-Mormon, or simply interested in religious history, this episode offers a deep dive into one of the most controversial and misunderstood developments in Mormon history.___________________YouTubeAt Mormon Stories we explore, celebrate, and challenge Mormon culture through in-depth stories told by members and former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as scholars, authors, LDS apologists, and other professionals.  Our overall mission is to: 1. Your CPA isn't saving you money… And it's probably not their fault. Many business owners expect their CPA to handle everything: bookkeeping, tax filing, tax strategy, and financial guidance. In this episode, Mike breaks down the four financial roles every business owner needs to understand: bookkeeper, tax preparer, tax strategist, and CFO or advisor. He explains what each role does, what they do not do, and how building the right financial team can help you stay compliant, make better decisions, and legally lower your tax bill.

Jody Hamilton takes the reins as Stephanie enjoys a well-deserved break. Joined by the insightful Mike Nellis and the ever-charismatic Charlie Pierce, the gang discusses the chaos around Trump's Great American State Fair, which has become a spectacle as performers drop out faster than you can say "MAGA." They talk about the stupidity of the situation, including the unlikely survival of Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida amidst a lineup that seems to be unraveling. The conversation shifts to the critical importance of voting, as election day looms in multiple states, and the group shares their thoughts on California's ballot initiatives and the sheer number of candidates vying for office. They also tackles the alarming rise of AI in politics and the implications of misinformation campaigns in light of recent political races. Ever feel like your story is too messy to matter? In this vulnerable conversation, Amy sits down with her podcast producer and friend Tamar Routly to talk about why the stories we're most ashamed of are often the ones that can help someone else the most. They discuss the power of breaking silence, the danger of secrets, and why your messy, imperfect story might be exactly what someone needs to hear today. Amy also reveals details about her upcoming app, Pen Pals, designed to help anyone with a story finally get it out of their head and onto the page. KEY TAKEAWAYSYour story doesn't have to be polished or perfect to be worth telling — it just has to be honestWe are only as sick as our secrets, and sharing breaks the cycle of isolationWriting your story is an act of self-healing first, and service to others secondYou can tell your story respectfully without exposing everyone involved — there are creative ways to honor truth while protecting privacyThe moment you share what you've been most afraid to say out loud is when resonance and connection happen GUEST BIOTamar Routly is a podcast producer, app developer, and creative who specializes in helping people bring their big ideas to life. She's also a fellow Gen X mom navigating neurodivergence, recovery, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with midlife reinvention. If this conversation reminded you to slow down and breathe, share it with a friend who needs that same permission. Healing isn't a straight line. Sometimes growth looks like moving forward, and sometimes it looks like finding yourself back in an old pattern you thought you'd already worked through. In this episode, we're talking about what happens when healing feels messy, why regression is a normal part of growth, and how these moments can impact our relationships. We explore how to navigate setbacks with compassion, communicate through them with your partner, and use them as opportunities for deeper awareness instead of evidence that you've failed.   Ready to do the work and go deeper in your own healing? This week Scheana is flying solo and answering your wildest, messiest, and most unfiltered listener questions before jetting off to London with the band. She opens up about navigating betrayal in her marriage, why “100% perfect trust” isn't always a realistic end goal, and the emotional work that actually goes into rebuilding a relationship after hurt. Elsewhere, Scheana dives headfirst into the Marciano/Jessi drama: did she actually tell him to lie for her, why she's reconsidering close friendships with straight men after all this chaos, and the new revelation that completely shakes up the narrative. She also reflects on her own cringe-but-relatable post-divorce dating era, the unique nightmare that is dating while on reality TV, and why she avoided dating apps altogether when she was single. Plus, Scheana weighs in on Ally's messy-yet-iconic Perfect Match era, Summer House reunion timeline gymnastics, handling nonstop online hate, and whether her new music may or may not contain a few familiar inspirations. There's also a sweet Stassi mom moment, a mini rant about slut shaming, and a reminder that women are allowed to be messy, complicated, and human. Stephen Colbert's finale gave Billy Crystal, Ben Stiller, and Robert De Niro thirty seconds each, closed with green screen gimmicks, and ended with an 83-year-old Paul McCartney — who can't hit the notes anymore — turning off the lights on 11 years of television. Angelo, who hosted for over 30 years, gets unexpectedly honest about the ending he wishes he'd had. The gang debates whether any live show has ever actually nailed its goodbye... and the answer might surprise you.THEN: The Mandalorian and Grogu opened to $100 million over Memorial Day weekend.  That makes it the lowest-grossing Star Wars debut in franchise history, and Jay, a lifelong fan, chose a Gordon Ramsay burger over buying a ticket. Meanwhile, a $1 million horror movie called Obsession has made $75 million on word-of-mouth alone, and Backrooms, made by a 20-year-old YouTube creator, is tracking for a $50 million opening. Is this the year audiences stop showing up for IP and start demanding good movies?ALL THAT PLUS: The FCC is threatening to reclassify The View as a news program, Rhea recommends I Fought the Law on PBS Masterpiece, Angelo brings Crime 101 on Amazon Prime, and much MUCH MORE!MAKE SURE TO VISIT OUR SPONSOR: Steven Singer Jewelers! The TV Show is a weekly podcast hosted by Jay Black, with regular guests Angelo Cataldi and Rhea Hughes.
