Let's talk about it. Sadie and Korie are back with an honest, messy conversation about Botox, fillers, filters, and the pressure to be perfect. They open up about their own experiences — and why even sharing a clip can feel vulnerable. We scroll, we compare, and somehow feel like we're falling behind. Even the “natural” look isn't so natural anymore. The crazy part? Jesus addressed this obsession with perfection over 2,000 years ago, and it still hits today. In Part 2 of Meg's conversation with Melinda Emerson, the focus shifts from why to who you become after you buy a business. They talk candidly about the identity corporate life creates — titles, distance from the work, and the quiet arrogance that can follow you into ownership. Melinda explains why real owners roll up their sleeves, switch roles without ego, and do whatever the business needs that day. This episode is about humility, responsibility, and the mindset that separates operators from spectators.

But first, we'll discuss some of the forecasts and market conditions the Federal Reserve has in mind at this week's meeting.

Maggie Gilewicz supports those navigating the journey of awakening. Her work is devoted to humanizing awakening by bringing honesty, nuance and emotional depth to a path often clouded by spiritual idealism and bypassing. Through her one-on-one sessions, astrology and YouTube channel, Humanzing Awakening, she offers a space where the personal and impersonal aspects of human experience are explored with honesty, curiosity and compassion. She holds a PhD in sociology and an MA in political science. She's a lover of simplicity, learning and laughter. Maggie offers a candid, often humorous portrait of awakening as a messy, deeply human journey rather than a clean escape into transcendence. She and Rick explore how growing up in an alcoholic family, a teenage glimpse of “Peace with a capital P,” and years in academia prepared the ground for a powerful perceptual shift that came not through formal practice, but through intense inquiry into the nature of thought. That shift opened into several years of profound equanimity and a sense of inherent wholeness, and then into multiple “dark nights” of depression, fear, and trauma surfacing that gradually forced her out of spiritual bypass and into fully embodied feeling. Maggie describes later emptiness and “no‑doer” realizations, energetic/Kundalini‑like phenomena, and the slow integration of shadow, relationship, and ordinary life. Throughout, she emphasizes that awakening is an innate capacity available to ordinary people, and that its true fruition is not leaving our humanity behind but discovering a deeper, kinder way of being human. Clutter, Cortisol & Hormone Chaos: How Your Home Is Draining Your Energy Fatigue, brain fog, low energy, weight loss resistance, and even IBS can sometimes start in a place most women never think to look: the clutter on the floor and the piles on the counter. Have you ever walked into a messy room, felt your stress spike, and suddenly had zero energy left for your family, your health, or yourself? In this episode, I sit down with decluttering and home-management expert Katy Wells to unpack the surprising connection between clutter, cortisol, hormone balance, metabolism, gut health, and sleep. We talk about why traditional decluttering checklists don't work for busy women, how your "stuff story" gets wired into your nervous system, and what clutter is really doing to your stress hormones behind the scenes. If you're working on hormone balance, digestive health, perimenopause symptoms, or stubborn weight loss and still feel stuck, this conversation gives you a fresh angle: change your environment to support your biology. Key Points from This Episode The clutter–cortisol connection How a messy, visually chaotic home keeps cortisol elevated all day and can worsen fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, metabolism, and gut health—especially in perimenopause and menopause. The four types of clutter (and why checklists fail) Katy breaks down superficial, scarcity, sentimental, and identity clutter—and why each one needs a different approach if you actually want lasting change. Your "stuff story" and stress How family patterns, money fears, and past experiences shape the way you hold onto things—and quietly keep your nervous system on high alert, affecting energy, digestive health, and weight loss resistance. Why your bedroom and kitchen matter most The research-backed reasons clutter in your bedroom can sabotage sleep and why a chaotic kitchen can lead to overeating, sugar cravings, and a sluggish metabolism. This episode is for you if you're doing "all the right things" for hormone balance, gut health, metabolism, and energy, but your home feels overwhelming and you can't figure out why you're still so wired, tired, bloated, or stuck with weight loss resistance. You'll hear what clutter really represents, why it has such a powerful impact on cortisol, digestion, and hormone balance—and how changing your physical space can create the foundation for better sleep, calmer moods, fewer IBS flares, and more stable energy throughout the day. The step-by-step "how" to start shifting your space (and your stress response) is all inside the episode—so hit play and see how clearing your home can support your brain fog, fatigue, perimenopause, digestive health, and overall metabolism from the inside out. What if the secret to getting unstuck isn't a better plan—but a messier start? In this episode of Just Start: Get Visible, I will make the case for starting messy on purpose. Drawing from my background as a planner, project manager, and multi-time founder, I'll share why perfection is a fantasy—and how messy starts are often the most sustainable path forward. You'll learn why letting go of perfection creates momentum, how starting messy gives you room to evolve publicly, why normalizing discomfort is part of visibility, and how public commitment can dramatically improve follow-through. If you've been waiting for the "right time," the perfect strategy, or total confidence, this episode is your permission slip to begin anyway. Because you don't need a flawless plan—you just need to start.

Feeling stuck in survival mode as an autistic or AuDHD adult—checking all the boxes on paper but still burned out, unfulfilled, or unsure what you actually want? This episode of Adulting With Autism explores self-love and life direction with Chandra Lynn, a certified transformation coach, former Apple/Mercedes marketing leader, and author of Root to Rise: How to Love Life When It's Messy, When It's Hard. Chandra breaks down her Root to Rise framework, which looks at key areas of life—like career, relationships, health, and creativity—and helps you line them up with core emotional needs such as security, variety, growth, connection, and contribution. She shares simple journaling prompts like "What do I want? Why? What am I willing to try?" to help you get out of autopilot and start making choices that actually fit you, not just what others expect. You will hear how her own path from high-pressure corporate roles into more aligned, heart-centered work unfolded in zigzags, not straight lines—and why that is normal, especially for neurodivergent adults. Chandra offers practical tools for exploring purpose through experiments and "try-ons," building authentic relationships, and practicing self-love in the middle of messy, imperfect life rather than waiting to "fix everything" first. This episode is especially helpful if you: Feel like you are surviving but not really living Are questioning your career, relationships, or direction as a late-diagnosed autistic or AuDHD adult Want a grounded framework to check in with your needs and make kinder, more aligned choices If this conversation supports you, follow/subscribe to Adulting With Autism on YouTube, Apple, or Spotify and leave a 5-star review so more neurodivergent adults can find it. Send us a textWhen life throws the unexpected at you, most people ditch the plan. We took the opposite route. Facing months of broken sleep and the emotional weight of a Toby's cognitive decline, we stuck to our routines amongst the chaos, without giving up on training, coaching, or big goals on the calendar. We walk through the real choices that kept us consistent: shifting expectations so the plan bends instead of breaks, using simple systems to remove decisions on tired mornings, and protecting training time as a clean mental space. You'll hear the difference between predictable chaos and true unknowns, why a set routine matters when you can have it, and how to pivot when you can't. We also get into practical tactics like repeatable meals, hydration habits that run themselves, and focus cues like headphones and warm-up rituals that flip the switch from scattered to locked in.On the performance side, we unpack what to do when top-end strength disappears. The theme is resilience over perfection: show up, assess honestly, and execute what the day allows. Over time, that steady, adaptable approach beats the all-or-nothing cycle and keeps you moving toward PRs, fat loss, or whatever your fitness goal may be.If this season finds you stretched thin, this conversation gives you a blueprint: fewer decisions, better focus, and training that fits the real day you're living. Hand on heart: I can still behave like an over-stretched, over-committed, dutiful, responsible, and driven first-born daughter. But I can't and I don't want to do it all perfectly. I want to Be rather messy in my life. Practical Tip: Let's stop for a moment. How would it feel if we “should” less on our own good selves? In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul begins to confront and correct some MESSY sexual sin in the Corinthian church. As we dive into this vulnerable subject, the place to start is to explain what "sexual immorality" is and why it's so serious in the sight of God.
Excellence in some lesser area of life does not compensate for or excuse neglecting the more important things that God calls us to attend to: love for God first then love for neighbor (including your family).

Send me a Text Message! As I was working on this episode, I couldn't get a song out of my head. It's a simple song that I learned in church as a kid. "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine..." In John 1 we find that Jesus is not only the Word of God, He is the light of the world. And when His light shine the darkness cannot win. But if you can get past the grand metaphors and visions of light battling darkness, at the heart of John 1 is a messy love story. In the midst of our darkness and our mess, he relentlessly pursues you. Even as you walk the Jesus way, His heart is relentlessly pursuing you.
Today's word of the day is ‘lowmark' as in the Buffalo Bills as in Terry Pegula as in Brandon Beane as in Sean McDermott as in Josh Allen. (18:53) Cody Bellinger is back with the Yankees! All that for nothing. All the mystery teams and interest, and he re-signs for the same offer that was on the table. (25:50) The Mets did it again. David Stearns made a trade for a starter. Freddy Peralta. The Brewers, last season's best regular season team, got two of the top 5 prospects in the Mets farm system. (36:00) Review: Song Sung Blue. (39:07) The Rays are looking for a new home. They are looking to scoop up land of a former community college. Let's discuss. (46:30) NPPOD. Learn more about your ad choices.
