If you don’t control your narrative, somebody else will… and they might not get it right! Personal Brand: reINVENTED brings you voices of leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers who are writing their own rules when it comes to “packaging themselves”.
How can a brand be a tool for transformation, not just for yourself, but those you serve and the world at large? I sat down with songwriter/"artivist" Lisa Forkish and self-love apparel founder Thomas Ng to discuss the great need for transformational healing in all aspects of our lives, and how their businesses are built around that. From Thomas' unique "mirror affirmation" shirts to Lisa's stance on decolonizing the elitism around using our voices in song, these two bring a fierce yet gentle message that I know will be balm for your soul. Both Lisa and Thomas are alumni of Personal Brand: reINVENTED, and it was such a thrill to have them in this coaching program. They arrived ready to go deep and seeing their messaging evolve and sharpen was exciting. About The Guests: Thomas Ng is a Self-Love Coach, and founder of self-love apparel brand, Affirm Your Transformation. Terry Lawrence made a name in professional skateboarding back in the 1970's as a daring female athlete riding up the sides of empty swimming pools and half pipes. Fast forward a few decades and Terry's being inducted in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. What changed from the 1970's to the 2020s? Terry transitioned to male and would be the first-ever trans inductee into the Hall of Fame. As a first person to do something, Terry was granted a huge responsibility to tell his story, past and present. We worked together to do what we do: CONTROL THE NARRATIVE. Listen in as Terry tells his story from teen years to now, what we need to know about trans athletes, how we can support the LGBTQI community and much more. On this episode of Personal Brand: reINVENTED, I sit down with success coach and mentor Kysha Mitchell to discuss how diving into her core values revolutionized her branding, messaging, positioning and clarity in her business. Kysha came to me with a fairly simple request, a request I pretty much ignored because I knew she wasn't asking for the right thing! #SorryNotSorry (When you work with me, surprises can happen!) What unfolded in our work together was something bigger and more powerful that's helped her connect with ideal clients, be more clear about her mission, and let her voice out in a big way. Kysha is often described as a powerhouse, and you'll feel her confident energy as you listen in on this conversation. Take what she learned and apply it to your business! We all have core values. These are the things that are your deepest held beliefs, define what's important to you and guide your decision making. In this episode, you'll learn 5 essential keys to core values and how they fit into your personal brand. This is the SOULFUL start to creating a personal brand that reflects your greatest strengths and how you show up in the world. Skipping over this is the difference between a shallow personal brand (read: fake sounding, walls up, hiding behind a persona) and a REAL personal brand. Once upon a time, people FREAKED OUT if you had a bilingual brand or hinted at your ancestral roots. Things have changed (for the better) and in this episode I'll share my journey of creating a culturally centered brand back in the day, with advice and lessons learned so it's an easy and meaningful choice for you. Be your ancestors' wildest dream and put your stories, symbols, wisdom, and language front and center. ==================== Find out about the next session of my coaching circle, Personal Brand: reINVENTED on THIS PAGE
What gets in the way of creating a truthful, soulful personal brand MIGHT BE THE SAME STUFF that's getting in the way of everything else in your life! We're starting here on the first episode with the inner work because if you don't believe in yourself, it won't be easy getting others to believe in you. Listen in as I go over "the usual suspects", those recurring beliefs and thoughts that keep you from shining your light. There's a good chance you'll be familiar with at least one of them. :-) You'll also learn a great practice I regularly use that helps you move past limiting beliefs and into your place of value. It's called The 55 x 5 and it's mind boggling good. Find out about the next session of my coaching circle, Personal Brand: reINVENTED on THIS PAGE ------------------------------------------------------------------ Affirmations I recommend (or you can make your own) to go with The 55 x 5: I deserve to celebrate my accomplishments. I matter just the way I am. I have value to share with the world. I am comfortable in my own skin. I embrace change and welcome new experiences. I learn and grow each day. I trust the Universe/God/Spirit is bringing good to me. -----------------------------------------------------------------
