A lot of people have requested to hear what I wrote about for my personal statement. In this episode, I will be telling you the story of how I killed a patient, and how I used that story to illustrate my career interests in managing patient safety. It's important to recognize that you can't talk about everything in your personal statement - pick the items that make for a linear story, and leave out everything else. It's okay to cut from your personal statement, that's what the paper application is for. First, autonomy doesn't reflect the interests you've worked to develop as a nurse (identity capital). And second, autonomy fails to consider the various aspects of a DNP/NA education.
