We are in an interesting time of uncertainty due to COVID-19. But times of great uncertainty are also times with a great opportunity for growth. In this series, over the next 15 days I will be sharing daily a short reflection, which will go deeper as the days go on, as well as music and poetry to help to ease the fear and the anxiety of this time and to help to reconnect with what is truly important in life.
Love is at the heart of everyone's motivations and actions, from the saint to the oppressor and murderer. All everybody wants is Love. What does it mean to deeply recognize that? How can we live and interact with others with that awareness? How would we use our energy, and what would we be doing with our time if we really recognized that? The featured song in this episode is called "This Love"
What is beauty? Why do we love beauty? Why is beauty so beautiful? In our culture we are becoming more and more hard-hearted and less sensitive to beauty. We are losing touch with beauty as we seek ever more convenience. There is a deep need for us to reconnect with beauty and re-sensitize ourselves to the heart's experience of beauty. These are the vibes we explore in this episode.
We all want to feel Love. At the core of every person is the deep desire to know Love, to feel Love, to be in Love. It seems to be that it is only our own fears and misunderstandings that keep us from knowing the fullness of love. Yet if we follow the path of Love, through human passion and heartache we can come to a greater experience and knowledge of what real Love is. These vibes, which are inspired by the teachings of the Sufi tradition, is what we are exploring in this episode. The song in this episode is called "Temper Me".
The idea of death is one of the greatest fears and taboos in our culture. Yet death is the only certainty in life. How can we be fully alive if we deny the reality of death? What would life be like if we could accept the sacred grace of death and grief rather than seeing them as something bad and unwanted. These are the vibes we explore in this episode. The song in this episode is called As I Am. You can download it by clicking here and clicking on the download tab in the track.
Does life sometimes feel like it’s a chore? Like a burden? Does it sometimes feel like you are living in wait, doing your tasks and passing time with an unspoken expectation that some day life will be as beautiful as it can be? Shouldn’t it feel like an adventure? Like a sacred dance here and now? In this episode I am simply holding space for these wonderings. The song in this episode is a song I am currently working on that has been stirring my soul. It’s called “I’m a Believer".
What is my life purpose? For so many people this question seems to bring up so much confusion, anxiety, doubt and frustration. But what can we understand about this question of purpose from Nature? What is “purpose” anyway? What is Nature’s “purpose”? What does Nature reflect to us about our own “purpose?” These are the vibes we will be exploring in this episode. The song in this episode is called Blossoming. You can listen here.
What would your life be like if you could truly let go of all of the ideas in your mind that limit you, and allow yourself to drink deeply from the cup of Life? In this episode we explore the nature of fear and why it is an illusion. Through understanding that we can lessen its grip and allow ourselves to live deeply and bring the dreams we dream to life. Also in this episode I am sharing a new song called The Cup of Life which will be available soon for download!
We all want a beautiful and fulfilling life. It is possible for us to live fully and deeply, yet because of fear we constantly limit our experience of life. Our fears often seem justified. Yet on deeper reflection we can see that there is way more reason to live each moment with faith rather than with fear. This episode explores the flawed logic of fear and the deeper logic of faith. Through reasoning we can begin to let go of fear in all its forms and embrace the more sensible path of living with faith, which allows us to experience and enjoy the full depth and beauty of life. The poem in this episode “Knee Deep In Life” is from my book Little Lights - available now.
It is 2020. For this new year and new decade, will you let your life just be a repeat of what it has been before or will you allow yourself to dream up the most beautiful dream for your life? To consciously imagine, to dream, is a truly deep and powerful gift that no creature other than humans are capable of. Yet do we use this gift fully? What does it really mean to dream? How do we dream effectively in order to create the most beautiful possibilities for our life and for our world? These are the vibes we are exploring in this episode. Happy new year! The song in this episode is called "Dreams We Dream"
In the last few decades science has found that the human heart is way more than just a pump. That, in fact, through the heart we can understand, communicate with, and affect the world around us in ways that indigenous people and spiritual traditions have taught for thousands of years - ways that we in our modern culture have forgotten. In this episode I am sharing some of those findings and what they mean for us who have grown up conditioned by a dysfunctional culture. Much of the findings I talk about in this episode has come from the Heart Math Institute and from a book called The Secret Teachings of Plants. The poem in this episode is called "Sit in the Forest" from my book Little Lights :) available now :) Happy Christmas! :) -Solman
We all need guidance. How can we know how to navigate the dynamics of life without getting caught up in the dysfunctions of our modern world? How can we stay true to ourselves when often our own minds confuse us the most? Guidance is an invaluable tool in this life. Yet with such an abundance of teachers, teachings, pathways and belief systems how can we know what guidance to truly trust? What voice to listen to that understands us personally with our own stories and challenges, and speaks personally to us? In this episode I am sharing something that has been a profound wisdom for me on my journey: that your own life is always guiding you - IF you know how to listen.
Recognising the reality of what we are as sacred expressions of a mysterious meaningful universe, and recognising the reality that the world we live in is not in harmony with that truth, and that we in our own lives do not always live in harmony with that truth, the question is: How do we come to live more in harmony with that truth within the circumstances of the world as it is? This is what we are exploring in this episode through the understandings of what I call spiritual practice and spiritual wisdom. :) The songs in this episode in order are "Statue of You" and "Small Flame." with Love! -Solman
What is real? What is life about? Why is there so much madness in the world? What is my place and purpose? Have you wondered deeply about these questions? These are such meaningful questions and it is difficult to find clear answers in a world where there is so much information and conflicting ideas and intentions. In part 1 of this episode I will be exploring these questions as a foundation for everything else in this podcast. I will be sharing a bit about my own journey in seeking understanding for these questions and some of the most meaningful insights that have come out of that. The song in this episode is "Child of the Universe" which is on my EP, Creation Vibration. Click here to listen. Also available on all streaming services. The documentary I mention in this episode is "Journey of the Universe" by Brian Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker. Click here to check it out! I highly recommend it. Love! -Solman
So many in our world are starving for a deep sense of meaning in their lives. Many are pursuing that meaning but are finding it hard to connect with others in a real and deep way. In a world that has epidemics of depression, anxiety and many other issues related to a lack of meaning; in a world where we have forgotten the sacredness of life and are creating so much suffering and harm to others and to the planet; in a world starved for meaning, there is a great need to reconnect on a level that is deep, meaningful and real.
