In today's episode, Gina talks about the importance of embracing imperfection, particularly in contrast to the common tendency of holding yourself to standards of perfection. You'll never reach it. —Salvador DaliChapters0:27 Embracing Imperfection10:37 Affirmations for Self-Compassion14:59 The Pursuit of Wisdom Over PerfectionSummaryIn this episode of the Anxiety Coaches Podcast, we delve into the concept of wabi-sabi, exploring how embracing imperfection can help alleviate the pressure of striving for perfection. The discussion begins with a reflection on the increasing societal demand for perfection, which can manifest as anxiety and feelings of inadequacy within us. We draw parallels to the music industry, where many artists are gravitating towards the raw authenticity of analog sounds versus the polished finish of digital production. This longing for imperfection invites us to question whether our pursuit of flawlessness is truly beneficial. The conversation encourages listeners to shift their perspective on imperfection, viewing it not as a failing but as a natural part of the journey of self-improvement. It posits that by letting go of the unattainable goal of perfection, we can open the door to self-acceptance and appreciate our experiences as ongoing, evolving processes. Our minds are profoundly shaped by our thoughts and where we choose to focus our attention, suggesting that by embracing imperfection, we can foster a more forgiving inner landscape.I emphasize the relief that can come from giving ourselves permission to simply be ourselves without the weight of perfectionism. The episode provides practical tips on recognizing our limits and establishing boundaries to support our mental health and well-being. It's crucial to incorporate self-care into our daily routines rather than sidelining our health for the sake of achieving more. By identifying our thresholds and maintaining those boundaries, we foster an environment in which we can thrive without succumbing to the pressure of needing to achieve perfection.#WabiSabi, #AnxietyRelief, #Mindfulness, #EmbraceImperfection, #MentalHealthMatters, #SelfLove, #SelfCare, #PersonalGrowth, #Perfectionism, #WellnessJourney, #PositiveAffirmations, #InnerPeace, #StressManagement, #MentalWellness, #SelfCompassion, #JapaneseWisdom, #Healing, #Authenticity, #GrowthMindset, #GraceAndGratitude, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #NervousSystemRegulation, #VagusNerve, #CalmMind, #OvercomingAnxiety, #PanicAttackRecovery, #MentalHealthAwareness, #EndTheStigma, #EmotionalWellness, #SelfHealing, #InnerCalm, #AnxietyWarrior, #Breathe #Gina Ryan #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Host Sarah Kleiner welcomes practitioner Grant Fowler to discuss navigating confusing and polarizing health information, emphasizing clinician-to-clinician “what works” insights alongside research. They argue health interventions have second- and third-order effects, using gut microbiome health as an example for improving responses to therapies such as cancer immunotherapy, and caution against “one thing fixes all” thinking across wellness, medicine, and spiritual frameworks. Fowler describes his non-linear path into health, his trial-and-error approach to addressing connective-tissue-related issues, and the importance of stacking lifestyle foundations (light, food, environment) to reduce system load so therapies can work. They critique strict evidence hierarchies, note “real world evidence,” and outline a symptom-guided approach to gut issues, highlighting specific probiotics (including spore-based strains and BB-536), lactoferrin, targeted fibers, dosing/timing considerations, and the gut's role in nutrient absorption and filtering toxins.Connect withj Grant - https://www.instagram.com/fowler_fitness_spt/ _________Sponsored By:→ Bon Charge | Go to https://boncharge.com/products/demi-red-light-device?rfsn=8108115.26608d & use code SARAHKLEINER for 15% off storewide.→ VivaRays | This episode is sponsored by VivaRays - VivaRays Blue - code YOGI https://vivarays.com/→ Troscriptions | For an exclusive offer, go to https://www.troscriptions.com/SARAHK for 10% off your first non subscription order._________Timestamp:00:00 First Order vs Systems01:02 Why Clinicians Matter02:19 Podcast Intro and Disclaimers03:32 Grant's Health Origin Story08:13 Genetics Epigenetics and EDS12:53 Peptides and Bio Regulators15:13 Real World Evidence Debate22:30 Insurance and Chronic Illness27:31 Integrative Medicine Middle Path30:40 Continuum of Therapies35:38 Modern Life Balance and Microbes42:16 Online Health Info Spirals43:16 Spiritual Bypassing Trap45:13 Bad Logic in Wellness46:45 Sunlight Protocol Reality Check48:32 Stockdale Paradox Mindset51:26 Synergy Over Monotherapy55:58 Fixing the Gut Basics56:23 Microbiome Testing Limits59:14 Targeted Gut Supplements01:01:51 Spore Probiotics Strategy01:13:43 Timing and Megadosing01:18:42 Where to Follow Grant01:22:12 Closing Thoughts——— This video is not medical advice & as a supporter to you and your health journey - I encourage you to monitor your labs and work with a professional!________________________________________Get all my free guides and product recommendations to get started on your journey!https://www.sarahkleinerwellness.com/all-free-resourcesCheck out all my courses to understand how to improve your mitochondrial health & experience long lasting health! If you've been putting in the work to heal your anxious attachment but still feel like you're treading water, this episode is for you. In today's episode, I'm sharing what I believe are the three core pillars of healing anxious attachment — and why the sequencing of that work matters just as much as the work itself.Whether you're just starting out or have been on this journey for a while, having a clear roadmap can be genuinely grounding. Lack of effort is rarely the problem for anxiously attached people — it's about making sure that energy is directed where it will have the greatest impact. In this episode, I cover:Why the mindset you bring to this work is the real foundation — and how approaching healing from a place of shame will undermine everything elseUnderstanding your nervous system and building the capacity to self-regulate (hint: it's about much more than crisis management)Identifying and shifting the negative core beliefs and core wounds that shape your relationships — and why real self-worth is built through doing, not just affirmationsCommunication skills, boundary-setting, and voicing your needs — and why starting here without the previous two pillars often falls flatThe common pitfall that keeps so many people stuck, and what to focus on instead
Today’s Bible Verse: “I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted.” — Psalm 77:1–2 Psalm 77:1–2 captures the honesty of a heart in deep distress. The psalmist doesn’t hide the struggle—he cries out repeatedly, reaching for God in the middle of sleepless nights and overwhelming emotion. It’s a picture of persistent prayer when comfort feels distant. “Want to listen without ads? What if the place you most want to avoid is the very place where Jesus wants to meet you? In this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast, I had the meaningful opportunity to talk with author and speaker Willow Weston about her powerful new book, Collide. Life rarely unfolds the way we imagine it will. Heartbreak, loss, trauma, disappointment, and shame can leave us feeling scattered and unsure of how to move forward. Many of us try to outrun the pain or bury it beneath busy lives and brave faces. But as Willow gently reminds us, unresolved hurt has a way of resurfacing—often through anxiety, broken relationships, or a deep sense of restlessness. But what if our pain isn’t the end of the story? In Collide, Willow invites us to consider a different possibility: that Jesus meets us right in the middle of our mess. Not to shame us or condemn us, but to walk with us, heal what is broken, and begin restoring our hearts. Through her own honest and vulnerable story, Willow offers compassionate guidance for those who long for healing but aren’t sure where to begin. Together we talk about: Why our past wounds often shape our present struggles How avoiding pain can keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns What Scripture reveals about weakness, suffering, and God’s nearness How inviting Jesus into our hurt opens the door for real healing And how our healing can ripple outward to bless others One of the most encouraging reminders from our conversation is this: we don’t have to arrive healed before coming to Jesus. We can come exactly as we are—limping, weary, unsure—and trust that He meets us there. Friend, if you’re carrying something heavy today, I hope this conversation reminds you that God sees you, He cares deeply about what you’ve walked through, and He is near to the brokenhearted. You don’t have to run from your pain. You can bring it to Him. My prayer is that this episode encourages you to take one small step toward healing and to trust that even the places that feel most broken can become places where God’s grace meets you most powerfully. With love, Rachael Host, The Love Offering PodcastAuthor of Everyday Prayers for Love P.S. Jamie Grant Counselors Jamie Grant and Heather Parker answer the question, "Does my anger matter to God?" They discuss about how it is so often misunderstood in the church in this conversation with Dr. Kay Daigle. Heather Parker Because anger can masquerade as depression, we often fail to deal with it correctly. Trauma in children may cause anger that leads to other issues as they become adults. This insightful conversation can help us recognize anger and appropriately get help to deal with it. This is an important topic for not only Christian leaders as they help others, but it is for all of us, knowing that we all deal with anger and that it matters to God. And she specializes in working with adults with complex trauma. She practices in a private practice here in North Dallas. And Heather is in Birmingham. And she practices at Waterstone Counseling. She's also a licensed professional counselor and supervisor and she specializes in helping people overcome trauma. So both of them work with people with trauma issues and that's how we started talking about what to talk about. And they brought up anger as a possible topic. And I was so delighted that you did that, because our society is just full of so much anger right now. I don't think I've ever seen so much anger in my lifetime. And I'm old. So, you know, this is this is a very unique time, at least for the last, you know, century, I would say as far as anger is concerned. There's just a lot of hatred and a lot of anger toward anyone that doesn't agree with whoever it is. So all sides have anger. And so let's just talk a little bit about anger. Let's begin with us being Christians. I think it's great to set the standard for where God comes from on anger, because we know God gets angry. God talks about God's anger and he talks about it in the Bible. So what does the Scripture show us about God's anger, You want to start us out, Jamie? Jamie >> Sure. And without, you know, having a kind of list of the different references, just kind of a general idea of the God's anger in the Scripture. I mean, so many times I hear people or I have heard people delineate or make this delineation between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. The God of the Old Testament seems so full of anger and wrath. And, you know, Jesus comes along and has like this compassion. And so I think it's really important to remember the God of the Old Testament is the same. God is the God in the New Testament. And, you know, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are all one. So there is no delineation; God is not divided in himself....
In this episode, we continue our Lenten book study on "The Way of Trust and Love" and focus on Chapter 2: An Elevator for Small Children. We talk about the quiet places of discouragement, and self-reliance that keep us striving instead of surrendering. We also reflect about how radical dependence on God is not laziness, the subtle ways we resist being little before a loving Father, and how our poverty is a doorway into deeper trust. This week, we invite you to fall into the Father's arms, allow Him to pick you up, and rest in the One who delights in you. Where do I experience self-reliance, codependency, or hypervigilance in my life? When in the past have I made agreements that I have to rely on myself and fix everything? Where am I living out a pattern of childhood wounds and identities? Discussion Questions: How have you experienced failure this Lent? Healing isn't the calm, peaceful experience most people expect. For many, it feels like confusion… grief… anxiety… even collapse. And if you're healing from codependency, that discomfort isn't a sign something is wrong—it's a sign your nervous system is being asked to leave the only version of "safety" it has ever known. In this episode, we explore the part of emotional healing no one prepares you for: Healing doesn't feel safe. It doesn't feel familiar. And it certainly doesn't feel fun. When your identity was shaped around people-pleasing, hyper-vigilance, and emotional self-abandonment, healing can feel like stepping into the unknown without a map. Old coping strategies begin to collapse, but the new way of being hasn't stabilized yet. That in-between space is where most people panic—and mistakenly turn back. In this conversation, you'll learn: Why emotional healing often feels like falling apart instead of "getting better" How the nervous system resists healing more than trauma itself Why healing from codependency forces you outside your comfort zone, even when nothing is "wrong" How to understand collapse as a necessary stage of reorganization, not failure If you've ever thought: "Why does healing feel worse than staying the same?" or "Why don't I feel safe even though I'm doing the work?" This episode will help you understand what's actually happening—without shame, pressure, or false positivity. You're not broken. You're not regressing. You're crossing a threshold. And thresholds don't feel safe—because they're new. ✨ Learn more about my work and resources: here ✨ Explore the 12 Week Breakthrough Coaching Program: here

Stem cells have been a buzzword in medicine for years—but what if the real breakthrough isn't stem cells themselves? In this episode, Natalie sits down with Caleb Granger, a leader in regenerative medicine, to talk about a rapidly emerging therapy that's getting attention from scientists, physicians, and professional athletes: stem cell exosomes. These microscopic particles carry the healing signals produced by stem cells—and new research suggests they may be responsible for much of the regenerative power we've attributed to stem cell treatments. Caleb explains how regenerative capacity declines as we age, why inflammation plays such a major role in chronic disease and aging, and how exosome therapies aim to restore the body's natural ability to repair itself. You'll learn: What stem cells actually do inside the body What exosomes are and why researchers are studying them so intensely How regenerative medicine is evolving beyond traditional stem cell therapies The role inflammation plays in aging and chronic health issues Why athletes and longevity experts are paying close attention to this emerging field This is a fascinating conversation about the future of healing—and the science that may change how we think about aging, recovery, and long-term health. Listen in to understand what's real, what's promising, and what questions you should be asking as regenerative medicine continues to evolve. Welcome back to the "Waiting for Weight Loss" Lenten series on the Compared to Who? Podcast! In this heartfelt episode, host Heather Creekmore dives deep into the challenge so many face: How can we desire body change or weight loss while still honoring, loving, and accepting the bodies we have—right now? Episode Highlights: Heather Creekmore unpacks why self-hatred is NOT a biblical motivator for change, and what healthier (and more effective) alternatives look like. You’ll hear practical, grace-filled advice on: Buying clothes that fit and flatter your body today, not waiting for a “goal weight.” Stopping the cycle of body checking, mirror scanning, and anxious self-critique. Shifting your mindset from shame-driven to gratitude-driven, even if you’re still on the journey to acceptance. Releasing comparison and learning to thank your body for all it’s helped you accomplish, instead of shaming it for what it’s not. Embracing the foundation of being loved and accepted by Jesus as you are, regardless of your current size or shape. Key Takeaways: It's absolutely possible to want change for your body without making shame your motivation. Acceptance now actually sets you up for healthier choices later—no more waiting for the "perfect" time or body. True transformation starts with knowing you are already fully loved in Christ. Dr. Debi Silber breaks down exactly why betrayal hits differently than other types of trauma — and why understanding that difference is the key to actually healing from it. Drawing on her PhD research and work with over 100,000 people, Dr. Debi explains the three discoveries that changed everything, why so many people suffer in silence, and how coaches and practitioners can better serve clients who've been betrayed. Key Topics Discussed The Three Discoveries from Dr. Debi's PhD Research Betrayal is a different type of trauma that requires a different way to heal There is a specific collection of physical, mental, and emotional symptoms so common to betrayal it's now known as Post Betrayal Syndrome® Healing is proven and predictable — there are Five Stages from Betrayal to Breakthrough™, and we know what happens at every stage and what it takes to move through each one Why Betrayal Is Different from Other Traumas With other traumas, you grieve and rebuild your life. With betrayal, you must rebuild both your life and yourself — your sense of identity, safety, confidence, worthiness, trust, and belonging are all shattered. The person who caused the harm is typically the same person you would have turned to for support — making betrayal uniquely isolating. Unlike other traumas that draw community support, betrayal often brings silence, minimization, or abandonment from those closest to you. Many betrayed people suffer alone — embarrassed, humiliated, and ashamed over something that was done tothem. The Trust Shattering Effect When the person you trusted most proves untrustworthy, it doesn't just damage trust in them — it destroys your entire internal system for discerning trustworthiness. You stop trusting yourself. This is why telling betrayal survivors to "just trust in a low-stakes situation" misses the mark entirely. What This Means for Coaches and Practitioners Post Betrayal Syndrome® and the Five Stages were not part of your coaching, therapy, or somatic training — and it's not your fault. Your most resistant, cycling, or plateau-ing clients may be betrayal clients — even if they're coming to you for something completely unrelated (weight, gut issues, anxiety, leadership struggles, business blocks). Stage Three looks like "I'm fine" — but fine is functional, not transformed. Knowing the language of each stage helps you recognize when a client is ready to move deeper rather than exit the process early. 47% of people who've been betrayed have a weight issue. 45% have gut or digestive issues. Healing the root (betrayal) heals the symptoms. If you live in fight-or-flight—anxiety, hypervigilance, chronic stress, shutdown, or even chronic pain—your body isn't being "dramatic." It's protecting you. But healing is hard when your nervous system can't access safety. In this episode of Adulting With Autism, we talk with Ethan Reisboard, CHT, a hypnotherapist who helps clients regulate their nervous systems and create lasting change using evidence-informed hypnotherapy tools. Ethan shares his own recovery story: in 2021 he developed post-concussion syndrome with debilitating migraines and eye dysfunction. After trying numerous approaches with no results, hypnotherapy helped shift his body out of fight-or-flight so recovery could finally begin. Now he works with clients (mostly over Zoom) to build safety, reduce triggers, and develop skills that last beyond a single session. In this episode, we cover: What hypnotherapy is (and what it is not) Why the hypnotic state supports the parasympathetic nervous system How fight-or-flight can show up as anxiety and chronic pain How you know you're "out" of fight-or-flight: when triggers become less relevant/reactive "I can't be hypnotized" — stage hypnosis vs therapeutic hypnosis How to find a qualified hypnotherapist (training, supervision, credentials) Tools Ethan uses with clients: breathwork (including vagus nerve activation), somatic tracking, guided practices Working with neurodivergent clients: visualization differences, trust, sensory concerns Nature and travel as nervous system support—without using external "escape" as the only strategy Consent, safety, and agency: why hypnosis can't make you do what you don't want How hypnotherapy can complement OT/PT/clinical rehab when progress is stuck Connect with Ethan Reisboard, CHT: Website: https://ethanreishypnotherapy.com Social: Ethan Reis Hypnotherapy Free consultation scheduling and resources available on his website
Domestic Dad Cleaning Up The Mess | Sobriety, Parenting, Dad, Addiction, Recovery,
In this powerful and deeply personal episode of Domestic Dad: Cleaning Up The Mess, host Nick Barnett sits down with Keith Jeffries to unpack a story marked by addiction, heartbreak, spiritual awakening, and the life-changing power of surrendering to God. Keith shares openly about growing up in a loving home that lacked a spiritual foundation, and how his desire for acceptance and belonging led him down a destructive path at an early age. What began with drinking as a teenager quickly escalated into marijuana, prescription pills, heroin, and eventually years of meth addiction. Through his brutally honest reflection, Keith reveals how addiction slowly eroded his relationships, fueled selfish choices, and left him feeling empty despite outward success. Nick and Keith explore the deep wounds that often live beneath addiction—including father wounds, unresolved anger, and the quiet shame that lingers long after the chaos of substance abuse fades. Keith reflects on the painful realization that the scars addicts leave on others can be some of the hardest burdens to carry in sobriety. The turning point in Keith's story came during one of the darkest moments of his life. After years of addiction and the loss of his father, Keith found himself sitting alone with a gun in his hand, ready to end everything. Instead, in a moment he still struggles to fully explain, he fired the gun into the floor—an act that became a permanent reminder of the life he almost lost. Soon after, Keith attended a men's event called The Launching Pad in Dallas, Texas, where he experienced a powerful encounter with God that would change everything. In that moment of surrender, the addictions that once controlled him were broken, and Keith began a new journey of faith, obedience, and purpose. But the journey wasn't without heartbreak. After five years of infertility, Keith and his wife Kayla experienced the joy of discovering they were pregnant with twins—only to lose both babies to miscarriage weeks later. In one of the most painful seasons of their lives, they made the difficult decision to remain faithful and obedient to God, trusting that He still had a plan for their family. Today, Keith lives a completely transformed life—devoted to his faith, his marriage, and helping other men find freedom from addiction and hopelessness. His story is a powerful reminder that no matter how far someone believes they have fallen, redemption is always possible. Through honest conversation, Nick and Keith discuss the role of obedience, the importance of brotherhood and accountability, and the incredible ways God reveals Himself when people choose faith over fear. This episode is a raw and inspiring testimony that no one is too far gone for grace—and that sometimes the greatest miracles come after the darkest moments.

Send a textDates on a calendar can sting, especially when they carry the weight of betrayal and divorce. We open with a “family versary” twist—a practical way to reclaim anniversaries—and move into the deeper engine of suffering: the gap between what we expected and what we're living. By mapping that gap with honesty, we make sense of the chaos without shaming ourselves for feeling shattered.I share a raw 2018 journal entry to validate the panic, anger, and grief many feel when a partner chooses an affair or pushes for divorce. From there, we pivot to tools that rebuild agency: naming reality, accepting without approving, and finding meaning that helps pain move. Drawing on Viktor Frankl's wisdom, we explore how purpose transforms stuck hurt into forward motion and how choosing an attitude is not denial but self‑leadership. We also break down betrayal trauma as a body event: cortisol surges, sleeplessness, dissociation, and fight‑or‑flight are normal responses to an abnormal situation. You'll hear practical ways to stabilize—routines that calm the nervous system, gathering legal and financial facts so fear shrinks, setting boundaries instead of trying to control, and building a support grid that includes a therapist or betrayal coach. We challenge the hidden “manuals” we hold for spouses and family, showing how releasing demands and holding clear boundaries reduces suffering and restores dignity. Finally, we practice reframing the story in small, doable steps: renaming painful dates, designing mornings that ground you, and keeping promises to yourself to rebuild trust from the inside out. Healing has no fixed timeline, but with the right tools and support, you can stop circling old pain and walk into a future you choose. Our dialogue delves into the intricacies of anxiety and the underlying emotions that often fuel it. I invite listeners to reflect on their relationship with anxiety and how to discern the subtle messages it communicates.A significant focus of our discussion is the Hidden Emotion Model—a technique I learned and refined during my training that unveils the repressed feelings driving anxiety. Dr. Burns eloquently explains how individuals, often conscientious and "nice," suppress emotions like fear, anger, and disappointment, which leads to heightened anxiety. By recognizing and articulating these hidden emotions, individuals can often alleviate their anxiety significantly. Dr. Burns shares a compelling vignette involving a man struggling with panic attacks after receiving unexpected news about parenthood. This example illustrates the necessity of acknowledging uncomfortable emotions to pave the way for healing. Our conversation also touches on the societal stigmas surrounding emotional expression, particularly for those who identify as "nice" people. Dr. Burns and I explore how mental health diagnostics can inadvertently contribute to feelings of shame and inadequacy among patients. It's a powerful reminder that many who battle anxiety face not only internal struggles but external societal pressures that may dictate how they should feel or behave.#Anxiety, #PanicAttacks, #MentalHealth, #CBT, #DrDavidBurns, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #FeelingGood, #FeelingGreat, #Psychology, #Mindfulness, #SelfHelp, #Recovery, #Wellness, #Healing, #StressRelief, #InnerPeace, #MentalWellness, #SelfCare, #Therapy, #Coaching, #EmotionalIntelligence, #NervousSystem, #OvercomingAnxiety, #PanicDisorder, #SocialAnxiety, #MentalHealthAwareness, #EndTheStigma, #GrowthMindset, #Authenticity, #Boundaries, #SelfLove, #IntrusiveThoughts, #OCD, #HealthAnxiety, #MindfulLiving, #Breathwork, #Meditation, #Zen, #Spirituality, #PersonalGrowth, #Resilience, #Empowerment, #HealthyMind, #AnxietyRelief, #StressManagement, #Psychotherapy, #Counseling, #WellnessJourney, #LifeCoaching, #MentalHealthMatters, #AnxietySupportSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
