Do atheists celebrate Christmas? Yes, they do. It's a holiday with friends, family, food, drink, and gifts; what's not to like? However, it doesn't belong to Christians. Populations in the northern hemisphere had a midwinter festival long before the Christians got going. That's why there's a decorated tree, holly, ivy, yule log, mistletoe, St Nicholas (Father Christmas, Santa Claus), etc. Christmas is just a winter festival which we can all share in. You may want to call it Yule, or just the winter festival but whatever you want to call it, its a great time of year for all the family.. So, Happy Christmas everyone! For our 50th Episode, help us celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Harry Potter movie! We ask the important questions this week. Yorkshire puddings with your Christmas dinner? Top tier quality street sweets? How many lindor balls did Matt get through? Josh is late to the show again as he's busy finding new friends in Flag. Even if he thinks he is too big time for the other boys, they soon bring him back down to earth with a quick counselling session. With 8 weeks to go until Seville (unless we're locked down again by then), Matt thinks it's probably time to start marathon training. He had his booster jab early in the week that knocked him out for 24 hours, but finished the week with solid session after a few solid sessions around the Christmas dinner table. Aaron is now on cold variant #17653, but despite joking about it being Covid on the pod, he did test negative. He manages to get a couple of runs in early in the week, but not enough mileage which results in him having the lowest yearly mileage amongst the three. Thanks for supporting the show, Happy Christmas and here's to an even better 2022! Aaron, Matt and Josh
Happy Christmas episode! Please enjoy our deep dive into two feature-length animated Christmas movies. First we have the Robert Zemekis and Tom Hanks collab inspired by the beloved Christmas book, The Polar Express. The we jump into the award-winning Netflix flick, Klaus. Enjoy!
Pranav hosts (and periodically forgets how to speak English) as he, Kiran, Hunter, and Chris review their favorite and least favorite moments of the year. The Carabao Cup takes priority (a sentence no one has ever said before) as we explore a waning West Ham, Chelsea's pre-K academy, an Arsenal squad who have clearly read episode 2's title, and Klopp's middle finger to fixture congestion. Serie, La Liga, and Ligue 1 all had midweek fixtures with Barcelona, who couldn't be part of the two Champions League draws, decided to go ahead and get their own draw. Ramos has played 3 games and already gotten a red card in PSG's 83rd added time point-saver this season. A weakened slate of Boxing Day fixtures sees an ode to Boxing Day '63 with a 6-3 tribute from Manchester City and Leicester. Southampton's Boxing Day dinner (is that a thing?) consisted of a carved West Ham before Chelsea have their first exciting match since the 2012 Champions League Final. To wrap up the show (haha holiday pun), couple of holiday season previews come your way as all of us end up being very wrong about Leicester vs Liverpool.
How does a solo-ish episode sound to wrap up 2021...?? Elena has BIG NEWS for you listeners!!!!! She is excited.. and she really gets all into it! Happy Christmas! Hope you had a good one! Weird that this week we are talking about more boozing, more socializing, more venues, more events, more late nights, more entertainment just when things are closing down, but the best gift we can give the social economy, is open up everything, no more Victorian licences, and embrace the night time economy. For a city to live, it has to be 24 hours, for those who want to go out, where they like, when they like. All this plus, a framework for making better predictions in 2022 with the help of strategist Viv Chambers. Hope you enjoy and wishing you a Happy New Year! It was through an official meeting done in heaven where God our Heavenly Father called all of his Holy ones and asked, Whom shall we send to heal humankind on earth? Jesus offered himself and accepted to take the Human form, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, our Mother. He was called Immanuel; thus, God is with us. Let's be reminded today to be also the joy of the world as Christ is whom we're celebrating today. Let's be source of joy to our Brothers and Sisters in needs. Be the joy where there is sadness. Happy Christmas

A very Happy Christmas to Your ExcellencyWhat is the quality of your worship? In this Christmas podcast, here are few things to learn from the wise men.Enjoy,..Your anticipation will end in celebrationYour friend,Paul Kinrin
In this episode, we look at Christmas in wartime, both on the home front and in the front line. We talk about a lucky purchase from a small Northamptonshire auction house that provided insight not only into the political history of South Africa, but also an affectionate Christmas gift sent to a soldier in 1916 who was to lose his life just sixteen days later, in tragic circumstances. Fifty-six men with the surname Christmas lost their lives in World War One, and we look at two of these soldiers, who came from very different ends of the social spectrum, and both of whom died in trench raids on the front.Captain Bernard Christmas came from a well-to-do family, was educated at Public School, and lived off private means. Private Walter Christmas, by contrast, grew up in the slums of East London and was employed as a "pure worker" in a leather factory, one of the most ghastly jobs in all of Edwardian England. We discover why cigarettes were the true gift of love for a man in the trenches, how an unfortunate mix-up involving a Christmas pudding and pigeon led to "Captain Custard" gaining his nickname, and why you should never accept a Christmas drink from a drunk Army chef. We finish our episode at the grave of the fabulously named Private Bertie Snowball and hear about how his legacy lives on through the Carnoustie golf club.I wish each and every one of you a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year - Footsteps of the Fallen will be back in 2022!Support the podcast:www.buymeacoffee.com/footstepsblogwww.patreon.com/footstepsofthefallenSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/footstepsofthefallen)

It is the 25th of December, that's right - the year 2021. Happy Christmas! Blessed Christmas to you! This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.“For unto us a Child is born,Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be calledWonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”Isaiah 9:6That was prophesied hundreds and hundreds of years before Jesus was born in that manger, in Bethlehem.“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”John 3:16I want to say to you today that that is the most incredible gift anyone could give to a person - To give His own child. And that is what our Heavenly Father did, today, 2000 years ago. He told His Son, “Go down to earth and help them”, that is what He is doing for you and me today.I want to say to you, today you might be lonely, you might be sick, you might be mourning but there was a little baby who has come into the world, to give you hope, to give you strength and to help you. His name is Jesus, the most beautiful name in my vocabulary... There is no other name. When I hear that name I want to weep with joy because He loves me so much, and He loves you so much, that He gave His life for us.Now folks, I don't know - this might be the last Christmas on this earth, that we have before the coming of the Lord! You know, I am a farmer and the Lord says, when you see a fig tree producing new leaves, you know that summer is around the summer. When you see these signs that are happening on the earth, know that my return is imminent. Now if we look at Revelation 22:20 - the second last verse in the whole Bible:“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”We need to be ready for the coming of the King - How can we get ready?Well, we need to believe that He is the Son of God. It is as simple as that. It is not about working your way to Heaven, it is about acknowledging that the baby in that manger is God made flesh, Immanuel. I want to pray a little prayer with you today if you don't mind, and I would like you to pray this prayer after me. I am going to pray a very simple scripture, Romans 10:9, and we will pray this together:If we confess with our mouths, come on, pray it... If we confess with our mouths, Jesus Christ, and we believe in our hearts that He has been raised from the dead, we shall be saved. Isn't that wonderful? Now just remember that. That is exactly what it is about - Its about faith. its not about good works. I want to close now because you have got things to do, you have got family to love and presents to open. I want to close with God's blessing. Numbers 6:24:“The Lord bless you and keep you;The Lord make His face shine upon you,And be gracious to you;The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,And give you peace.” Happy Christmas! Peaceful Christmas! We love you!God bless you and goodbye.

A festive greeting to you all as we record this episode on Christmas Eve, with the lads getting ready for the Boxing Day Test Match in Melbourne we have a lot to catch up on since we last spoke. Firstly we discuss all the Christmas activities which have been going on with the team in Melbourne and with Stokesy's family now that they've finally joined him. The lads also tell us about the worst Christmas they've ever had abroad for England (where they all got violently ill) and also the worst/best Presents they've received. We then analyse the unfoldings of the Adelaide Test match whereby Broady opens up on his views on whether we were bowling too short a length and Stokesy gives us an insight into the honest words which were said to one an other in the dressing room post defeat. Stokesy they unleashes on a crazy rant about why he never eats certain food shapes/groups during a test match plus we have a lot of fun discussing how annoying Labuschanges' chat is out on the field plus much much more….. Hello and welcome to all the listeners and a Happy Christmas! I hope you are all well and in good health. I'm finally ready to make new episodes and this week i'll be talking to my friend Adam from Gaza about our experiences in learning languages. Adam is also an Arabic teacher and I advise you to have a go studying with him because he really knows and understands the nuances within Arabic and English and he's super patient with his students. I also benefitted a lot from my conversations with him because he has a Gazan accent (which I am not used to) and I like to be flexible with understanding different accents in the region. He's got some spots available for new students if you'd like to try studying Arabic through conversation with him. If you'd like more information, send us an email at email@example.com I'd also like to say a big thank you to Muhammad, who teaches Arabic on italki. He's from Syria, living in Germany and from time to time I take lessons with him - when I feel like brushing up on my Arabic. He helped me out preparing for this episode and getting my brain in gear after neglecting my Arabic for a few weeks. He's such a great teacher and super encouraging to his students, so check him out! Here is the link to his page on italki: https://www.italki.com/teacher/2678645 Here is the new vocab for this week. A Visit from St. NicholasBy Clement Clarke Moore'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the houseNot a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds; While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window I flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,When what to my wondering eyes did appear,But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer,With a little old driver so lively and quick,I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;So up to the housetop the coursers they flewWith the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too—And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roofThe prancing and pawing of each little hoof.As I drew in my head, and was turning around,Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack. His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round bellyThat shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;A wink of his eye and a twist of his headSoon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,And laying his finger aside of his nose,And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
