We more often than not look at Israel creating the golden calf and see idolatry, when in fact what Israel is committing and the base of the mountain is so much worse. The fact is, at times it feels as if the identity of our God is inconvenient, and maybe even more so, the identity which He gives to us as His people is inconvenient. Yet, it is an honor to be a people filled with the presence of God Himself.Find more Christian content HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
After living constantly on the go following the exit from Egypt, Israel finds themselves in position that every Christian hates. While Moses did business on the mount with God, the only responsibility left to God's people was to Wait and Obey. Through Israel's failure we can learn how to correctly endure delays and the feeling of detachment of God.Want more Christian content? Click HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
In the wilderness Israel is given a two choices; the plunder of Egypt, or the Presence of God. If Israel truly desired for God to dwell among them, it would take transforming and toiling in order to tabernacle with their Maker.Find more Christian content HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
God has a full proof plan in leading each Christian to Canaan; The Victorious Christian life. Just as God would teach Israel after leaving Egypt, God desires for each believer to recognize that victory is a guarantee as long as we are willing to remain in a posture of surrender- with hands raised in relinquishment. Why the wilderness? It's surprising to find that God showed up immediately as Israel made the decision to leave Egypt behind, yet it took 4 decades to make it to the promise land. Just like most Christians looking to live the victorious Christian life, we often lack 3 key lessons learned in the wilderness. What would it look like to have a familiarity, a faith, and a flexible following of God at all times and in all things?Find more Christian content HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
How do you know you are living the Christian life? The fact is, that God is our Creator, and as such He has the right to accept or reject anyone not living up to the reason He made you. Just as the law was given to Israel to show the world what God was like, the life of Jesus within us is meant to show our world what God is like through us. What would it look like to put God, The Deity on Display in your life?Find more Christian content HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
We often hear the word 'flesh' in the church house, yet do we have any idea just what this word means? The substance that God used to form man and exactly what dwells inside of each person is completely and utterly shocking! When we truly come to grips with the creature within us, we agree with God's Word that the best way to proceed is to crucify this creature within us.Want more Christian content? Being a Christian is not imitating God, but allowing God access to your life. If this is the case, then living for the flesh is equally not imitating Satan...but allowing his kingdom entrance to your life. The flesh is a Trojan horse, it is receiving what we think we want, at the cost of allowing the enemy in.Find more Christian Content HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
Every person was formed to be filled with the Life Of God, just as He breathed life into Adam. Jesus even told us that He came not only to give us life, but to give us abundant life- because He is LIFE. Yet, where's it at? With so many people claiming Christianity- are we missing the very thing that makes us a Christian in the first place? Are we living the Christian life that we've been given? The life of a Christian is defined as victorious, yet more often than not we find defeated Christians around us. What is the underlying cause of our defeat? In Fig-leaf Failures we take a look at the propensities of mankind, who try to be what we were never created to be, causing continual defeat.Want more Christian content? Faith That Fills- Be The BushToo often Christians are more of a Burnt Bush than a Burning Bush as we try to live, and do, and be what the Bible says. Yet, just as God demonstrated to Moses from the shrub a blaze- it takes being fully available and accessible to God to burn without being consumed as a Christian. What is the point of the gospel? Exactly what was God trying to accomplish by sending His Only Begotten Son? Why should a person 'get saved' in the first place? Understanding the Gospel is meant to be the power within our lives. Where once we lived a futile flesh filled life, a life that was capable of nothing but death- Jesus gave HIS life that we might have abundance. It takes Christ in us to be a Christian. It's truly remarkable how many times we find the disciples regretfully returning to their old habits, old ways of thinking, and their old life. Yet, every time- Jesus offered them a reason to return. As Christians we always always always have a reason to return- because Jesus is the fuel that makes our Christianity function. Find more Christian Content from Sandhill HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
Jesus enters the life of His disciples in order to prove at point; where you can do nothing, there's nothing I cannot do in and through you. This is the same point He desires to prove to each person who will believe upon Him. Though we may have the Christian life, only Jesus makes the Christian life functional.Find additional Christian content from Sandhill HERE: https://sandhillfwb.com/
The entirety of the Bible could be boiled down to God desiring to make Himself & His will known to man. However because of the sin of man, throughout history God has become creative in doing so. God is ever on the lookout for a willing, empty, and viable vessel that will be filled with Him & His will. Do you have a faith that fills?
Why was it better for the disciples that Jesus went away? What life transformation causes such a drastic change in the lives of these men? What if the Christian life most try to live is a set up for failure?
Jesus Himself claimed that His reason for coming to this earth was to give Life More Abundantly, and yet as we look around at Christianity we see believers struggling even for averageness. Where has the abundance gone and what does it take to receive that which He came to give?
Do you want to actually live out the victorious Christian life? Too often Christians are told WHAT the Bible says to live, without being told HOW to live what the Bible says to live. If Truth is every going to impact and change our lives, it must be tangible.
We read of the precious promises of God's Word and His intent for the life of each believer and even the church- and then we look at reality and something doesn't add up. Why at times do we have such faith to believe and at other times our faith falters? The answer; Deceitful Doubt.
Faith is as basic and foundational of a principle as a Christian has to claim- and yet, most Christians have missed the point of Faith altogether. Faith is not something you try to have more of, it's not something you work harder at. Instead, Faith is a Person. This changes everything.
What if you had as much confidence in Jesus as you do in gravity or oxygen? What if your faith were not a feeling, not metaphorical, nor mystical. What if your faith were a firm factual foundation? God is always looking for the life of a man or woman who will believe Him at His Word no matter what.
Where are the worship warriors? Where are the courageous Christians who stand fearlessly for the faith as they sing a song of praise, or give a triumphant testimony? Where are the worship Warriors who will look at the impossible and declare it is nothing for our God. Where are the worshippers who will sing a song even when they are being attacked by the enemy, even when they are in the heat of the battle. Where are the worshippers who will declare that there is a cause worth continuing for? Where are the Worship Warriors?
There are two important lines in any given battle; the Battle Line which separates opposing sides & the sideline which separates those who are in the battle from those who are not. Never before has the placement of your feet as a believer been more important. Never has it been easier to side step towards the sidelines than today. Where will you stand?
The fingers of Christians seem to never tire at pointing the blame. Whether it's the current culture, the religious ridicule, or one of our many other excuses- we tend to feel everyone else is to blame. Yet, the Bible clearly defines WHO is the true adversary of the Almighty.
We can look around at the world around us and see a time of fear like never before. Because of the Covid-19 virus people are ever afraid and fearful. Yet, lurking among us is a virus much more vicious and much more contagious than the Corona Virus.
Christians of all people are constantly being baited and persuaded into taking sides. We feel the constant need to speak up and state our minds. Have we forgotten that there is actually a strength in silence?
What if there were a way to win spiritual warfare flawlessly. What if you never once had to fire your weapon at the adversary because the enemy sees you and flees. What if there were a Secret Strength made available to soldiers in Spiritual battles, would you be interested?
With enemies on every side, with bad news bombarding believers on every corner- how can we keep a proper perspective? How can we have the mind of Christ with everything we face in this turmoil filled year?
We know that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against rulers of darkness. Why do rulers of darkness continue to fight against the church? What exactly is the agenda and play book of the dark side? Find out in The Wrong War Part 2: Adversaries Ambition
Why does darkness seem to prevail in our world? If darkness is nothing more than the absence of light, then where's the church? Where is the light of the world? Could it be that the church has become too distracted with fighting The Wrong War?
With any relationship comes responsibility. We know that the Bible calls the church "The Bride of Christ", but for believers, the much less realized role is that of the Groom's Guard.
What if the very thing that you are holding onto so tightly in your life, is the exact thing God wants to use mightily in HIS Kingdom? Just like Moses in the wilderness, God asks each of us "What's in your hand?"
