We've never done an episode quite like this before. We sat down with writer and creative Allie Carr—twice. In October 2025, she was just beginning to emerge from a really difficult chapter. When we spoke again in February 2026, her spark for life was fully back, and the seeds she had planted were unfolding in real time. In the months between, Allie moved through a Saturn return, career pivots, financial uncertainty, and a deep shedding of who she used to be. What looked like falling apart was actually falling into place. This conversation is a reminder that manifestation often has a full arc: the breakdown, the becoming, and the moment it all clicks. If you're in your own hard season right now, this episode is your life raft. Want to see where her journey began? Watch her original episode on our YouTube channel. Today’s Bible Verse: “Then he said to them, ‘My soul is very sorrowful to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.’” — Matthew 26:38 Matthew 26:38 gives us a deeply human moment from the life of Jesus. In the Garden of Gethsemane, as He faced the suffering of the cross, Jesus openly expressed the weight of His sorrow. He did not hide His anguish—He shared it with His closest disciples and asked them to stay with Him. Want to listen without ads? In this episode of the Family Brand Podcast, Melissa sits down with a very special guest—her nine-year-old daughter, Indie—to do something the Smith family does every single week: a family check-in. Instead of just talking about the concept, they actually walk through a real check-in live on the podcast, giving listeners a behind-the-scenes look at how these simple conversations help their family stay connected and intentional. The Smith family has a weekly rhythm where they gather for a short family meeting and individual check-ins with each child. The goal isn't to lecture or correct behavior—it's simply to connect. During these conversations, they ask a few consistent questions: What's important to you this week? How can we support you? What goals do you want to set in different areas of your life? By creating space for these conversations regularly, it helps each child feel seen, supported, and understood. In the episode, Indie shares what matters most to her right now—things like riding her horse Stella, skateboarding outside, and planning time with friends. She also sets a few small goals for the week across four areas the family focuses on: spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social. These goals don't have to be complicated. Sometimes they're as simple as working on a church talk, learning more about national parks for homeschool, doing a short workout, or planning a get-together with friends. The point isn't perfection—it's helping kids build awareness and intention around how they spend their time. Melissa also explains that these check-ins often include a small weekly challenge and, of course, something fun like a treat or snack. Over time, the routine has helped their kids open up about what's happening in their lives. Because the conversation happens consistently each week, the kids know they have a safe place to talk about goals, struggles, and ideas they're thinking about. As Indie puts it simply, check-ins help the week feel less chaotic. Instead of just reacting to whatever happens, the family gets a chance to pause, get clear about what matters, and support each other. And sometimes the most important outcome isn't the goals themselves—it's the reminder that everyone in the family has a voice and someone who cares about what's important to them. A deep exploration of narcissism, grandiosity, and spiritual narcissism, examining how the dragon of ego inflation can shape our psychology, distort relationships, and disguise itself as awakening, wisdom, and false light
Sharing our faith should be exciting to us. It is exciting. When we consider the free grace God gave us through His Son, telling others about Jesus should be on our priority list every day. For whatever reason, many find it very awkward to talk to others about Jesus. We can talk about just about anything else, though. That's why it's crucial that we look at sharing the Gospel as an intentional thing we do. Intentionality is a great way to overcome our hesitancy, and let's be honest, sometimes fear keeps us from sharing. Truth is, each personality requires a customized approach to sharing about Jesus. Some are outgoing, and others are shy. A blogger for God TV has written that he admired a friend who told every seatmate on every plane he'd been in about Jesus. The blogger went on to write that, “Even if my fellow passengers desperately wanted to know Christ, they likely couldn't even get my attention with a jackhammer drill or a pie in the face.” Kind of funny…and also kind of sad. Also, very common. Matthew 16:24 says, “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'” So, if we're looking for ways to overcome our mediocre Gospel sharing, what can we do? Let's look at a few tips. The first is prayer. Get honest with God and tell Him you're not so great at evangelism. I mean, He already knows, anyway. Ask Him specifically to give you both opportunities and an intentional plan for communicating the best news anyone will ever hear. Two—plan, think ahead. Are you a person who's good at conversation? Go over a mental checklist that provides you with enough scripture and short sentences to make your pitch when the time comes. However, if you're not outgoing, maybe you're a writer. Consider communicating with a card to let the person know you're thinking about him or her. Play to your strengths, not your weaknesses. Number three, listen before you talk. How many times do we jump into a conversation or meeting without taking a breath? Train yourself to be quiet for a bit until you hear where the other person is coming from. You'll learn about your friend or acquaintance, and you can then think through the best way to approach them about the saving gift of Jesus. But also, don't just wait for your turn to talk. Hear them. Meet them where they are, and listen to the Holy Spirit to see how you can speak Jesus into that person's life. Very few of us are Billy Graham. That doesn't mean we can't share the gospel. Somebody's depending on it. Let's pray.Father, whatever our personality and our experiences, give us a passion for loving unbelievers and caring about their well-being. The world is full of diversity. Help us embrace that. Do you ever feel that you aren't suited for sharing your faith in Christ? Maybe you're not comfortable around people. Maybe you've encountered some who are hostile to faith. If so, then we are speaking to you about sharing your light in a dark world.Philippians 2:15 says, “Shine...like the stars in the sky.”Have you seen the movie, “The Ten Commandments?” It's doubtful the real Moses looked and talked like Charlton Heston. And do we really think God looks for His witnesses among people who have that perfect British accent in a Jesus movie? Nope. If we think we have to look or act a certain way, then we're doing it wrong. God doesn't ask our permission when giving us our marching orders for sharing the Gospel of Jesus. Instead, He approaches us as He did Job: Stand up and listen to what I have to tell you.You are called to shine a light for Christ in a world full of dark things. You are equipped, just as you are. God has called you. Be bold in Christ. He is the Star. We are just lights along the way.Let's pray. Lord, the time is now. So many need you. God, would you help us to shine for you every day? Some of the greatest stories of believers down through time have involved those who really studied God's Word. These people have gone before us to show us the way. From Charles Spurgeon to a missionary mother in China, daily study of the Word and prayer prepared them to mentor entire generations.Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another.”We also read in Romans 10 that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. We have to do it so that others know how. Remember, there is no substitute for spending time in God's Word.In order to properly train an apprentice, you need to obviously be prepared and adept. Anything less leads to weak faith, or no faith at all. This is what the Great Commission, sharing the Gospel, has always been about. Duplicating disciples. Grounding your own faith in the Bible and then imparting that to others. That is the essence of true iron sharpening iron.Let's pray.Lord, keep us about your work by daily reminding us to spend time with you in Your Word. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Save 15% Off your entire purchase of faith-based apparel + gifts at Kerusso.com with code KDD15.

The Blood of Christ and the Courtroom of Heaven – Part 2 | KIB 521 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Description In Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Episode 521, Dr. Michael and Mary Lou Lake continue their powerful teaching on the courtroom of heaven and the legal authority of the Blood of Jesus. The Bible consistently reveals a judicial structure in the spirit realm. From the divine council in Psalm 82, to the accusations of Satan in Job, to the final judgments described in Revelation, Scripture presents a coherent picture of covenant law operating in God's heavenly court. In this episode, Dr. Lake explains how Satan functions as the accuser, how repentance removes legal ground from the enemy, and why the blood of Jesus speaks legally in the courtroom of heaven. This discussion also addresses: The role of covenant law in spiritual warfare How repentance shuts down Satan's accusations Why the blood of Jesus is the believer's legal defense The danger of disconnecting the Church from the Old Testament How obedience to God's commandments maintains covenant alignment Why spiritual maturity is essential in the last days Understanding these principles is vital for the remnant as we approach the prophetic events of the end times.

The Bible's book of Daniel tells us that one day, knowledge and innovation will increase exponentially in our world. And it could be surmised that the prophet was looking ahead to our day, but maybe he was looking even further. The technological advances of the 21st century are no secret. In the ancient world, an ocean voyage could take months. Now, a person can have breakfast in New York City and dinner in Paris.Communication is beyond anything our grandparents could have imagined. The number of mobile devices at this moment stands at 7.22 billion, a slightly bigger number than the human population of our planet. There are more than two billion personal computers around the globe. People in Asia can chat in real time with friends in Chicago or anywhere else. Such communication is instant and constant. Consider that as recently as World War II, whole armies could be on the move before the enemy was aware.Travel is easier, too. There's a wonderful story from our friends at Our Daily Bread, in which a teen on a mission trip shared the Gospel with an elderly man in Jamaica. He was disabled but listened intently when she described new life in Jesus and the hope of a new body in heaven. He asked her, “Will you dance with me up there?” He accepted Christ.Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” We have almost limitless ways to get a Bible into someone's hand. According to The Bible Society, between 1816 and 1975, 2.5 billion Bibles were printed. Many people, of course, still prefer to hold a book and read the printed word, and that method has been responsible for many millions of conversions over the years. It's exciting to think that now, 100 million Bibles are being printed every year. Technology brings advancement here as well. That remarkable YouVersion Bible App has been installed on 300 million devices around the world.Knowledge is increasing drastically. We have the greatest opportunity in all of history to share the Good News of Jesus with the world. God has given us the means to use technology, prayer, and one-on-one conversations to bring people to Jesus. What will you do with your finite amount of time? It's up to you.Let's pray.Father God, your provision for us is wonderful. You've made it possible for each believer to share their faith with close friends and family, as well as those around the world. Give us a sense of urgency. In Jesus' name, amen. Today’s Bible Verse: “Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.” — Lamentations 3:32 Lamentations 3:32 speaks into one of life’s hardest realities—grief. Written during a time of deep national sorrow and loss, this verse reminds us that pain does not erase God’s compassion. Even in seasons where suffering feels overwhelming, His love remains steady and unfailing. Want to listen without ads? This week I'm talking to Matt Mckay about his book 'Lessons from the Afterlife'. • Offers a step-by-step process to unleash the unconscious and intuitive wisdom held in the awareness of your soul: Deep Knowledge Meditation • Includes guided journal prompts to help you listen to your heart and shine a light on your own deepest wisdom and soul knowledge • Shares channeled lessons from the author's late son Jordan on the mysteries of human existence, including what the divine or god is, the nature of a soul, the nature of matter and energy, the role of love in our lives, and the origin of the universe Human life is surrounded by mystery. At the center of this mystery are the questions: Why are we here? Is there a purpose to our existence, a reason why we're experiencing the beauty and pain of physical life? There is also the mystery of the universe itself. What is it and where did it come from? Religious and spiritual traditions have created complex cosmologies to answer these questions, but each tradition has a different answer, and we are left with profound uncertainty about deeper reality. As psychologist Matthew McKay reveals, we can each discover our own answers to these questions, our own inner truth, by connecting with the wisdom of our souls. In this guided workbook, McKay offers a step-by-step process to unleash the unconscious and intuitive wisdom held in the awareness of your soul. He explains how to use Deep Knowledge Meditation to access all of your soul's accumulated knowledge, everything you have learned across all of your incarnations. Channeling his late son, Jordan, a discarnate soul who has lived hundreds of lives, McKay shares Jordan's lessons on the mysteries of human existence, including what the Divine or God is, the nature of a soul, the nature of matter and energy, the role of love in our lives, and the origin of the universe. Accompanying these channeled teachings are journal prompts to be used with Deep Knowledge Meditation to help you listen to your heart and shine a light on your own deepest wisdom and soul knowledge. Guiding you on a journey of self-discovery, this book offers the opportunity to find your soul's truth about your life's purpose and the nature of physical reality. Bio Matthew McKay, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, professor of psychology at the Wright Institute, co-founder of Haight Ashbury Psychological Services, founder of the Berkeley CBT Clinic, and co-founder of the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinic, which serves low-income clients. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 books, including Seeking Jordan: How I Learned the Truth about Death and the Invisible Universe, The Luminous Landscape of the Afterlife: Jordan's Message to the Living on What to Expect After Death, Love in the Time of Impermanence, and Lessons from the Afterlife: A Deep Knowledge Meditation Guidebook. Share a commentCourage doesn't always look like a roar; sometimes it's a window opened toward home and a quiet prayer said on schedule. We explore how Daniel faced the machinery of empire without bitterness or bravado, and how that same blend of joy, integrity, devotion, and humility showed up centuries later in William Wilberforce's long campaign to end the slave trade and, ultimately, slavery across the British Empire. The stories unfold with human texture: a teenager abducted into Babylon who refuses to be remade, a statesman whose colleagues weaponize his prayer life, a den that should have been an ending but becomes a witness, and a parliamentarian who keeps smiling, keeps pressing bills, and keeps giving God the credit when the tide finally turns.Along the way we challenge the assumptions we carry about success, influence, and credibility. An excellent spirit stands out more than elite access. Comprehensive integrity outlasts opposition research. Spiritual consistency is forged by daily habits, not last-minute heroics. And humility keeps victory from curdling into pride. Whether you lead a classroom, a courtroom, a crew, or a company, these four strands create a durable public witness in any age.We close by turning to vocation as a sacred calling—teacher, builder, driver, judge, parent, pastor—and asking practical questions: What line must you draw without rage? What window must you open without fear? What habit will keep your joy steady when pressure rises? Listen, reflect, and then carry these practices into your week. Reading the Bible can feel intimidating, especially when we try to understand it on our own. Emily Rose Massey reflects on her own journey of faith, realizing that the Holy Spirit—our Helper and Teacher—guides believers into understanding God’s Word. With the Spirit’s illumination, scripture becomes more than words on a page; it becomes life-giving truth that shapes our hearts, transforms our minds, and draws us closer to God. Highlights The Bible is a gift from God, meant to guide us in knowing Him and living faithfully. Spiritual understanding comes through the Holy Spirit, not human effort alone. The Holy Spirit brings scripture to remembrance and illuminates its meaning over time. Consistent Bible reading allows God’s truth to take root in our hearts. Even with distractions and intimidation, the Holy Spirit helps us comprehend God’s Word for deeper worship and life transformation. This episode is sponsored by Trinity Debt Management. In high school, I was gifted a Bible when I became a member of my new church. I was so excited to start reading it and learn more about God, but as time went on, I became more and more intimidated by its pages. Where do I begin? Do I start in Genesis and just read through it beginning to end? Do I need to spend time memorizing what I’m reading? What does this word mean? These thoughts circled my teenage mind, and I was so hesitant to even dive in for fear that I wouldn’t understand what I was reading. It didn’t take long for schoolwork and all of the extracurricular activities I was involved in to crowd out any downtime to make space to read my Bible. Soon enough, that Bible would find a permanent home on my bookshelf, left untouched. I hate to admit it, but the intimidation and distractions would follow me all through college as well. When I was stressed out, I would glance at my neglected Bible and randomly open it and try to soak up some hope for my weary soul. Although I heard the gospel as a teen and was a professing Christian for six years, it wasn’t until after I graduated from college that God granted me genuine repentance from my sin and rebellion and gave me the faith to fully surrender my life to Christ and trust Him completely. One Sunday, I stepped foot in a church service for the first time in a few years, and I believe I was born again that day, as the reality of offending a Holy God and my desperate need to turn to Jesus, take up my cross, and follow Him overwhelmed me for the first time in my life. After that moment, my whole world changed, and I suddenly had a deep desire to read my Bible and obey God. I look back and see the difference between my high school and college days was that I was trying to understand what I was reading without the help of the Holy Spirit. Once I became born again at the age of twenty-two, I was given the gift of the Holy Spirit- Jesus describes Him as a Comforter as well as a Helper and Teacher in John 14: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (John 14:26, ESV). Intersecting Faith & Life: As born-again believers, when we open the pages of scripture, we are not left on our own to understand what we are reading. We have a Helper and a great Teacher, the Holy Spirit, to guide us in our pursuit of growing in the knowledge of the Lord. He illuminates the truth to us over time and will bring what we have read to our remembrance. This is why it is so important to consistently be reading our Bibles, so that we can store what we are studying in our hearts. The Bible is a gift from God to help us in our daily lives- to be able to learn of God’s ways and learn who God truly is so that we can grow closer to Him and worship Him rightly. I have to admit that I sometimes still struggle with intimidation and distraction when it comes to reading my Bible, but after walking with the Lord for over fifteen years now, I know that I am not left alone on this journey. I have a Helper who guides me into all truth and supernaturally helps me understand the words I am reading- words that are spirit and life (John 6:63). He is always with me, and I can always ask Him for help. Dear Christian, let us thank the Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit. The One who convicts us of sin when we daily fall short. The One who is our ever-present help in times of need and who guides us into all truth. If you are struggling to study the Bible or are intimidated by it, He will supernaturally illuminate what you are reading and give you the ability to comprehend, not just for head knowledge, but ultimately, to help you know God more deeply so that you can worship Him more fully. Oh, what a wonderful gift from above! Spiritual practices can improve your physical and emotional health – but that doesn't mean spirituality is a wellness hack. David DeSteno's groundbreaking work explores how religious rituals like prayer and chanting are so beneficial as powerful psychological tools. But what happens if you take these rituals outside of their community context? David can speak to both sides of the equation: the science behind faith, and the mystery of the sacred. David DeSteno is a professor of psychology at Northeastern University, where he directs the Social Emotions Lab – exploring the effects of emotions like gratitude and compassion. Kerusso exists to tell people about the Good News of Jesus Christ, but somehow in our information-jacked world, culture has moved further away from understanding who the most famous person in history really is. Millions of books and articles have been written about a carpenter who lived in the Middle East 2000 years ago, and Jesus has been identified as anything from a desert mystic to God Himself. Historically, He was born into a Jewish family in Judea at the time the Roman Empire controlled the area. Born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth, Jesus was 30 before He gained a reputation as a great teacher, but He was much more than that. The Bible tells us that He was sent into the world by God the Father, to stand in our place and take the penalty for our sin. According to Genesis, man defied God's template for living and because He is holy, God requires that someone is accountable for sin. Had Jesus not entered the world, we'd be left without a way to reconcile with God. Long story short, Jesus Christ is much more than just a wise teacher. He's also the Son of God. The Bible also tells us Jesus is one with the Father. Remember, when Moses encountered God in the burning bush, he asked God how to identify Him to the people, and God replied, “I am who I am.” And that was in the Old Testament. In John 8:58 in the New Testament, Jesus tells the people, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” Jesus Christ is a divine being. And John 1:29 says, “The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.'” This description of Him is not embraced by most people around the world. The Bible tells us that man's heart is wicked. It isn't like billions are rushing to churches so that they can have their sins forgiven. The human mind and heart don't want to focus on the messier side of the Gospel. We're imperfect. We sin. And our sin is an offense to God. Who wants to hear that? We don't want to be told that we're not good. We want to be told we're good, and worthy of God's love. And the Good News, the Gospel in the person of Jesus Christ, is that we have the pathway to be like Him. Romans 8 tells us that it is God's desire that we become like Jesus. And that's a goal worth reaching for. Let's pray. Father, thank you for providing us with your Word that tells us exactly who Jesus is, and what His life means to us. You could have abandoned us to sin, but you didn't. The praise and the glory belong to you alone. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world!
