I'm in Austin trying to promote Liverpool as "the" music destination for artists, agents, tour managers and promoters in 2008. I wish I'd brought a few hundred ACC brochures with me.
The big gig is over and I give a summary of the things that have come out of it. 28 Costumes have been invited to record with Sony BMG, The Wombats have received an amazing amount of attention and have been invited to LA by MTV, Hot Club de Paris played their best gig of the festival at the Liverpool event and have been receiving a lot of attention. Just after the gig Pete Wylie gives his impression of how things went. To finish a track by the band of the festival; The Wombats.
It's been more than a day since my last podcast so I describe what I've been up to, the trade show, the British Music BBQ, listening to Gilberto Gil speak as Brazil's minister for culture, Pete Townshend's weird new web concept "The Method". There's an interview with Mike Dean, director of Liverpool Music Week and a song by Hot Club de Paris.
I've just arrived so I talk a little about my awful flight which seemed to take forever. An interview with Phil Cooper of Creative Cultures and finish by playing "Monsters Under the Bed" by Eugene McGuiness, a Liverpool-based singer/songwriter who is here at SXSW promoting his new mini-album "Out of Spring".
